5 out of 5 eggsGood board

Pros: Ships with F11 BIOS revision, making flash unnecessary. Picked up Core i3-3240 without a problem. Parallel and serial ports a plus for legacy peripherals.

Cons: So far none, as long as you have room for a full-ATX board.

Other Thoughts: Photo in Newegg's listing shows an older revision board with the 4-pin ATX 12V connector. What shipped is a newer rev that has the 8-pin connector - not an issue, since 4-pin plugs from PSU will mate with it anyway.
Has mSATA port on the board, which I won't use and won't comment on. This leaves one 6Gb SATA port for a traditional drive (boot), and 3Gb for other drives. The parallel port was more important than mSATA, that's just me.

1 out of 5 eggsBoard failed at 4 months

Pros: Good price, connections clearly labeled, easy to set up.

Cons: Motherboard failed for no apparent reason at ~4 months of use.

I did not overclock any components or tax the system in any unusual way, the computer just crashed (no blue screen just image frozen, no audio and mouse/keyboard non-responsive. Moments later the system powered down and then tried to power back up. That reboot and all subsequent hardware reconfigurations on this board had the same result: The CPU fan takes a few seconds longer than usual to start working and I receive a beep error code. I looked it up on the gigabyte forums:
Continuous short beep :Power supply unit failed
but the power supply tests fine with my other setup. I also tried an alternate power supply with the same result.
Can't give more than 1 star for a product to have failed so quickly under completely normal use.
The board was great while it lasted, but anyone considering this board should probably also consider the 1year replacement policy. Just sayin'.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Rounded Motherboard

Pros: There's a reason this board is called a "classic". Has both of best worlds, old and new.

What I mean by that is most modern motherboards have ditched the parallel, COM, and the PS/2 ports. While this board has the aforementioned parts, it also has all the newest features Like PCIe 3.0 (if your CPU supports 3.0), SATA 3, USB 3.0 and supports the 4th gen 22nm CPU's! It also has Legacy PCI slots.

The number one thing that drew me into this board was the fact that there was no On Board Video. I had my own Video card (ATI HD6770) so I didn't want any MB/CPU that Intel HD graphics (which is hard to find).

Good choices for this board are Intel Pentium G2120, Intel Core i5-3350P or similar type of CPU. These type of CPU's have no Intel HD graphics saving money on wasted resources in the event you want to use an AMD/NVIDIA video card. (It should be noted, you can use a CPU with Intel HD graphics, but this board has absolutely no video ports.

Cons: Cons, The number one con right now is the board that NewEgg has Listed which picture and describe the Gigabyte GA-P75-D3 rev 1.0. The rev 1.0 has a 4 PIN ATX 12V CPU power port. Well, the board I actually received was a GA-P75-D3 rev 1.1. This board has a 8 PIN EPS 12Volt CPU power connector.

Luckily, Power had a 8pin EPS supply lead, so I was fine, but this would matter a lot to someone who was relying on the item description and the pictures and had a power supply that only had a 4 PIN CPU connector.

If you only have a 4 PIN connector on your power supply, be prepared to by a 4 PIN to 8 PIN EPS CPU power connector.

Only other con I can possibly think of is lack of IDE connectors. This is a "classic" motherboard right? Wheres the IDE and Floppy connectors then? However, if ya need IDE ports, just buy an adapter card.

Intel Rapid start can be more trouble than it's worth.

Also, If want run to RAID, I would recommend a dedicated hardware level raid card. (Too many SATA II ports and will bottle neck your SATA III)

Other Thoughts: In other thoughts, NewEgg is awesome despite this listing mix-up. The order arrived in two days and was safe and secure. great price too!

I want buyer of this board to find something helpful in my review. Listing my components may help other people figure out good combinations.
Gigabyte GA-P75-D3
Intel Pentium G2120 (running PICe 2.0)
16GB (4 x 4GB) Kingston ValueRAM DDR3 1066Mhz
ATI/AMD HD 6770
2,250 SATA WD HDD's
1 Lite-On DVD Burner
550 watt power supply.

(This machine in this config is only used used for surfing the net, light gaming, homework etc etc. )

------------------------------------

If you want this for a gaming rig I suggest the following
Gigabyte GA-P75-D3
Intel Core i-5 3350P (or similar, by similar, I mean quad core and no Intel HD Graphics (this will operate at PICe 3.0))
32GB (4 x 8GB) Kingston ValueRAM DDR3 1600Mhz
(Choice of AMD/NVIDIA graphics card running at PCIe 3.0 and a minimum of direct X 11.
1 SSD (Brand of choice at SATA III)
Optical drive of choice with a HDD(s) of choice (for back up)
Power supply rated according to video card demands.
