4 out of 5 eggsUpdate on Previous Review

Pros: Running rock solid. Using HDMI output with 1080p 47" LCD TV.

Cons: I was never able to do a clean install of Windows 7. Always got a blue screen, with multiple DVDs and versions of Windows 7. However, I was able to install Vista without any problems, and went through the slow process of installing SP1, SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate, SP1 for that, and finally transitioning to Windows 7 Home Premium that I own. So that was painful. But the HIDCLASS.SYS blue screen I got may be some kind of odd glitch with the board or combination of board, CPU and RAM I own. (G.Skill, Pentium G2120.)

Other Thoughts: Once I went through the painful process to get to the Operating System I wanted, and even through that process, I had no issues with the board, and Gigabyte support responded to my review and my email support request with some suggestions, though none of them solved my Windows 7 clean install issue.

3 out of 5 eggsSeems like a faulty board.

Pros: Low price, good feature set (onboard HDMI, DVI).

Cons: With Windows 7, I consistently get an "hidclass.sys" error (blue screen of death) during installation, same place each time, likely during driver install.

Vista installed, but rear USB ports stopped working when I installed the INF from the Gigabyte Utility CD, and the network port is not working. It shows as installed, and it's all lit up on both ends (where it's plugged into the mobo and also the hub), but shows as "cable unplugged."

Other Thoughts: If I could get the drivers/software working, and the USB/network ports start working, I could rate this board higher, but I'm 5 hours into set up now and no closer to a solution.

4 out of 5 eggsGood budget mobo

Pros: * BIOS: GUI on BIOS is like a web browser = much easier navigation = easier installation (you can use your mouse)
* Good physical thickness and length of board
* Comes with HDMI, DVI, and VGA
* Comes with plenty of screws for board and other hardware for your new PC.
* Driver DVD comes fully loaded with useful software

Cons: * Had a hard time securing CPU slot. It was a bit loose. Had to fiddle with it a while before I was confident with CPU not going to bend/break/smashed
* Had some difficulty getting my GPU into PCI slot

Other Thoughts: Overall, this is a good budget motherboard for Intel CPU. Use it for a budget gaming build or whatever your need. It's a good buy, in my opinion.

-Hardware installed summarized-
CPU: i5-3350p
GPU: Radeon HD 7750
HD: WD 1TB
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8 gb ddr3
OS: Win 7 SP1 64-bit

5 out of 5 eggsRecap Good Board For Money

Pros: Good board for the money. Gigabyte makes good durable products that you can count on.

The bios for this board looks like a duke nukem game menu and is extremely easy to navigate and has mouse support...win.

Cons: None, See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: Wrote a review earlier and gave this a 4/5. Solved issue with Windows and now 5/5. Its just this new UEFI stuff I suppose.

When you install windows and are using the Dual Core G620 Intel Processor with intention of using the onboard graphics, you NEED to set the board to legacy mode instead of UEFI. This is solved by going into the bios and simply switching anything that mentions anything about UEFI to legacy only. Otherwise when you install the drivers for the gpu, windows will happily give you a BSOD on restart. I would try this trick if your having any gpu driver issues actually.

5 out of 5 eggsLow cost solid board

Pros: Used this with a G2020 to build a low cost non-gaming home computer for neighbor. If one is careful with parts, you can build a nice machine for under $300 that will handle all home needs others than games that need more graphics power beyond Intel HD graphics.

Cons: No USB 3 but you are working with a sub $60 H61 based board. If building a new machine and you really want USB3, then your lost cost option will be a LGA 1150 based for about the same price (plus the Haswell processor) or spend more and stay with LGA 1155 with a more expensive unit that has more features.

Other Thoughts: At the time of this writing, there is an updated bios which I flashed to, Gigabyte UEFI bios makes that super easy with USB stick.

5 out of 5 eggssolid board

Pros: Solid board, lots of options for video out with an appropriate CPU. Good build quality as always.

Cons: No USB3 header, but none was needed and there is an equivalent board that does have internal USB3 if you want/need it. Bundle is a bit skimpy, just a couple of SATA cables but again, this is an inexpensive mATX board so it's not unexpected.

Other Thoughts: Got this as a gift, using it as a media server (with a few SATA cards). Never, ever had a problem with Gigabyte boards. If not for the SATA cards I'd be looking for something with more onboard SATA and more than one controller, but that's neither here nor there.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Board For Money

Pros: Nearly every mobo I've ever bought has been a Gigabyte and this board performs just as well it seems.

Cons: Wouldn't mind more fan ports.

Other Thoughts: Bought a Dual Core G620 Intel Processor to go along with this board with the intentions of using the integrated graphics. The driver that was supplied would crash windows with a BSOD every time after it was installed. Looked around the internet only to find people having the same issue with this board and that processor. After further research I found that I need to install Windows with UEFI mode disabled, which I believe is a default setting on the BIOS... Still looking into issue but prepare to tackle this issue yourself.

5 out of 5 eggsNice little board for the money

Pros: Worked without any problems.

I installed G.SKILL Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)

And an Intel Pentium G630T Sandy Bridge CPU, with an SSD as the boot drive. Worked great. Very fast little computer now.

Cons: It's hard to know exactly which size motherboard will fit perfectly into a particular case. In this pair up, one corner of the motherboard was left unsupported, because there was not a post in the right place and no way to put one there. Not the fault of Gigabyte, and not much of a problem.

Other Thoughts: If you use the same CPU listed above, try out the cooler that comes with it. You might be surprised at how quiet it is. I was prepared to use a more expensive CPU cooler but definitely felt no need.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid board

Pros: Build quality seems solid, boots fast. Recognized everything on first boot with no tweaking.

Cons: I/O shield is a little flimsy.

Other Thoughts: I heard Gigabyte makes good boards, and this board seems to prove it. Case badge would have been nice but for 50 bucks, who am I to complain?
