3 out of 5 eggsNo video output

Pros: Cheap for micro MOBO with CPU

Cons: No video output on windows vista 32 bits when windows updates to the official Intel-R HD Graphics Family drivers through either port. When I reverted to the Microsoft built in generic VGA driver I could get the video out put. Now I have to figure out how to stop windows from updating graphics driver automatically. With the Intel driver, I could get video up to the end of the low resolution graphics and not after the high resolution video driver loads up. I was able to start in safe mode because of low resolution video. Hope this will help someone who faces similar problem hence I notice quite a bit of comments on the video issue.

Other Thoughts: No mention of graphics drivers for vista on the official webpage of this MOBO from gigabyte.

5 out of 5 eggsFirewall Appliance

Pros: Dual gigabit, low power ~22 watts, UEFI bios is nice.

Cons: Would not output to my display with either VGA or HDMI until I reset the CMOS. Very weird but works great now.

Other Thoughts: Using this with Pfsense 2.1 RC1 64bit booting from a USB flash drive. Recognizes onboard NIC's flawlessly. Using the spare PCI slot for another drop in NIC for my optional interface. Paired this board with 2 gigs gskill 1333 ram, F3-10666CL9D-2GBNQ, Stock timings. Works great.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat firewall board

Pros: Low power yet pretty fast
dual Gigabit

Cons: Won't boot without the 4 pin power connector attached
No IDE controller (solder pads exist for it though)

Other Thoughts: Installed pfSense on it and it works flawlessly. The chassis I had didn't have the 4 pin 12V connector on the power supply so I wired one into the molex connector for the hard drive. Works fine. it would have been nice to use an old IDE drive for it but an old USB stick works just as well. Not worth dinging an egg off the rating.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for XBMC (openelec)!

Pros: Had to RMA a garbage AMD APU board that I initially bought for an XBMC box. Got this instead and am extremely satisfied! Runs cool even while playing HD video. HDMI video and sound works out of the box with OpenElec XBMC. I put 4GB of RAM in it and a PCI WiFi adapter.

Cons: Case power/led/reset pin header is at the bottom of the board and the case wires were pretty snug getting to the headers. Not bad enough to deduct a star though.

5 out of 5 eggsLow Power, great for NAS

Pros: Awesome board. Very low power consumption and a fast Celeron that is able to handle 1080p video flawlessly. I use this for my NAS build, runs very cool and efficient. At this price (with rebate) it is totally worth it

Cons: Limited number of SATA ports (1 SATA 3, 2 SATA 2), but I managed to put in a PCI SATA card for more.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board!

Pros: Dual NICs, great speed and low power consumption. Small profile makes it perfect to fit into odd cases.
Works well with low end ram.

Cons: Doesn't brew coffee...

Other Thoughts: I'm using this board as a firewall using IPfire. The board runs quiet and cool. I have it linked up with a small SSD. cheap ram and shoved into a box.
UEFI bios is different. I like it though.
Using a 60w HTPC power pack.
Idle's at 22watts

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Firewall

Pros: Dual NICs
Extremely quiet
Easy to use BIOS

Cons: Not passive cooling (not really much of an issue)

Other Thoughts: I wanted a dual gigabit NIC board for a pfSense build and here it is! pfSense 2.1 RC0 nano-vga works like a charm running off of a USB flash. (You need 2.1 build of pfSense 2.0.3 doesn't see NICs) I wanted passive cooling for less power and noise, however this thing proved me wrong. Unless your ear is right next to the fan you can't hear it, and it's still super low power. Great board, I would definitely buy another for another firewall build.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board, got a second one!

Pros: Small, sipping power (<20W), powerful celeron (Ivy Bridge based), works with Hyper-V, dual nics, price after rebate

Cons: PCI port only... no USB 3, 16GB max memory 1333MHz

Other Thoughts: Got the first board to run ESXi, worked so well that I wanted another one to use Hyper-V. Great board and very efficient CPU. Got this for $49 after rebate. Gigabyte has another board with a 1.5GHz CPU (GA-C1007UN-D), same board as this one but a faster CPU (1.5 vs 1.1GHz). With a PCIe port, this board would be perfect to add a RAID card. Hopefully with Haswell we will see more board like this sipping power but powerful enough to get you to the moon.
