5 out of 5 eggsNice board!

Pros: Solid construction, excellent spacing around CPU socket for large cooler. BIOS is very easy to figure out for overclocking. Paired very well with my AMD-FX 8320 8-core.

Cons: A con for me but might not affect everyone. The main PCI-E 2.0 x16 slot for GPU card is moved over 1 slot away from the CPU. This makes it so I have to remove my GPU card to swivel my drive bay up. (nMedia 6000B case).

Other Thoughts: This thing is made for overclocking. Pair with AMD-FX 6 or 8 core unlocked CPUs you can get a lot out of them. Was able to overclock my Corsair DDR3 1866 RAM to 2133 at just 1.55 volts. The UEFI-BIOS means if you screw up your settings, it gives you a chance to change them without resetting CMOS.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA like others

Pros: I like the color scheme

Cons: Doa. Even with everything but the cpu and fan removed it won't boot. Fans spool up, fans spool down, speaker spits occasionally. Tried the paperclip-instead-of-powerbutton trick, no dice. Missing my ASRock LED right now.

5 out of 5 eggsFrom Asus to Gigabyte

Pros: This board is well worth the money 900 series chipsets for sata 3 2 x16 PCIE slots for further updates even the color is a good contrast to the red gskill ram I installed. Bios is really user friendly unlike the old days where the bios looked like dos. i know its not the 990 series but im not complaning

Cons: i still gave the board 5 eggs, even with this there is a mount screw above the ram slots rather difficult to get to but its more of a quirk than anything

Other Thoughts: also afew bits of info my board came as a rev 1.0 with the white box not the black as shown. but dont fret the 1.0 still supports the fx series cpu all are shown under the F1 bios revsion. when checking against gigabyte's website there is a rev 1 and 2 for cpu support and ram be sure in choosing the correct one/

Pros: Supports quiet a bit for its price

3 out of 5 eggsUSB 3.0 stop working

Pros: Excellent board upgrade from the Gigabyte AM3 870 board.

Cons: Only con I have is that one usb 3.0 port on back will not read thumb drives, it use to then about a month ago it stopped. I plugged in my USB headphones and it worked, not sure why this has happened, but the other 3.0 port works fine. I use the 3.0 Ports for installed games on a flash drive for speed access and game content access during play. I even reinstalled opsys and still wouldn't work with flash drives.

Other Thoughts: The board should come with an internal 20 pin cable to connect to the additional 3.0 on the board for more ports. Now I only have one unless I purchase the cable adapter.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Mainboard

Pros: Everything clearly labelled on the board itself and an easy install. Components are securely attached and releases on the PCI-E and RAM slots are easy to open and close. Great board for the price and supports a lot of RAM and a wide array of CPUs. USB 3.0 is a nice add-in.

Cons: A couple of things to consider when buying and using this board:
1) There is NO on-board graphics/monitor support... not even a VGA plug to attach a monitor to. You'll need to have a reliable video card handy to install this board and run the install disk to update the drivers.
2) The instructions packaged with the board are very basic and not entirely accurate, though it appears that the problems exist in simple translation issues regarding the diagrams. A little common sense goes a long way when you see that the CLR_CMOS and SATA ports are misidentified.

5 out of 5 eggsMoney well spent

Pros: Plenty of room between RAM, CPU, and heatsinks so it was easy to install. Overclocked the FX-8320 to a modest 4GHz without any issues. And the black board looks pretty good in the case.

Cons: This is exactly what I expected for the money. Gigabyte gets it done.

4 out of 5 eggsGood cheap board, overclockable!

Pros: Cool, low voltage overclock on an FX-6300 to 4.5 GHz. Has all the features I was looking for.

Cons: Doesn't have features I wasn't going to use anyway?

Crossfire/SLI, Thunderbolt, DDR4...

Other Thoughts: This board does have its quirks, I'll admit, but it's nonetheless a very decent performer for the price.

Easy to overclock, especially coming from C2Q on a P45 board. There seems to be a lot of fuss over 4+1 vs. 8+2 phase power, but with liquid cooling and a fan pointed toward the VRMs, it's had perfectly acceptable temps even taking it up to 4.8 GHz. Feels like I might even be able to hit 5 GHz if I cared about that sort of thing. 4.5 on the 6300 seems a great balance of extra performance without voltage levels that will make the chip last less than 10 years.

Overall, I'm quite pleased I didn't spend more on stuff I don't need in a board.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good For The Money...But

Pros: Affordable Gigabyte quality board. It isn't a perfect board, but for the price (sub $60), it's hard t go wrong. It would be a solid 5 eggs if not for a few quirks below. If you are building on a budget, this is a great investment

It supports plenty of ram, is well built and solid, which has been a Gigabyte trademark over the years and exactly why they were the FIRST manufacturer I looked at. In this price range, you will be hard pressed to find a better performing value.

Has USB 3.0 on board ports and support for case ports that work as they should. No issues with the plug, just plug n play simplicity. Best bang for your buck.

Cons: Quirks...Where to begin. How about the beginning. Holes. There is a hole that doesn't line up with anything in a case...Which happens to be near the main power socket on the board...So when plugging that in, it causes quite a bit of excessive flex and you have to be careful. That is not a great design.

Next up, the screw hole location right next to the RAM sockets. VERY BAD DESIGN! that one was a real PITA to install that screw. I used a long phillips screwdriver that was magnetized and stuck the screw on the tip at an angle to get it in the hole, then it took some work to screw it down. Just not good. If they had spared an extra 1/8" or so, it wouldn't be any problem...They didn't.

Last but not least, initially, on restarts, the board would completely cycle off the power to the whole system, then re-power up. It was really weird as I have never had that sort of issue before. It did it for a while, but has simply stopped. Really weird.

Other Thoughts: While not being sever issues, those above really make the board awkward to work with and somewhat frustrating. Luckily, they aren't serious and I only dinged it 1 egg for that. It is a great budget board and works well so far.
