2x Copper PCB
GIGABYTE's exclusive 2X Copper PCBs design provides sufficient power trace paths between components. It handles greater-than-normal power loads and removes heat from the critical CPU power delivery area. This is essential to ensure the motherboard is able to handle the increased power loading that is necessary when overclocking.

GIGABYTE OPT Fan Support

GIGABYTE On/Off Charge 2
GIGABYTE On/Off Charge technology is revised and upgraded on all GIGABYTE 8 Series motherboards. It provides comprehensive and enhanced charging support for a broad range of devices, including those that run both iOS and Android. Users can enjoy fast AC charging over USB on mobile devices, even when the PC is turned off.

GIGABYTE AMP-UP Audio
GIGABYTE G1-Killer motherboards are the world's first to feature an onboard OP-AMP socket. This allows enthusiasts to swap out the motherboard's onboard operational amplifier (OP-AMP) and explore personal audio preferences using a range of nuanced OP-AMPs. GIGABYTE G1-Killer motherboards feature an amplifier upgrade kit that includes a pair of specialized Operational Amplifiers, and an IC Extractor for easy installation. Additional amplifiers can be purchased separately to further expand audio capabilities.

Three Different Op-AMPs

Creative Sound Core3D

Nichicon High-End Audio Capacitors
GIGABYTE 8 Series G1-Killer motherboards use the highest quality Nichicon MUSE ES series and MW series Bi-Polarized audio capacitors at each channel layout. These professional audio capacitors deliver the highest quality sound resolution and sound expansion to create the most realistic sound effects.

Gaming Headphone Amplifier (Front Headphone)
Specially designed for gamers, GIGABYTE G1-Killer motherboards utilize a high-capacity amplifier which is able to drive 600Ω loads, giving gamers a fuller range of dynamic sound – with crisper details and less distortion – than when using high-quality professional headphones.

Audio Noise Guard
To help protect and insulate the high fidelity Creative Sound Core3D audio processor and onboard amplifiers from electromagnetic interference (EMI), GIGABYTE G1-Killer motherboards feature an audio noise guard that separates the board’s sensitive analog audio components from potential noise pollution at the PCB level. LED trace path lighting Illuminates to show the separation of the PCB layers.

Gold-Plated Audio Hardware

5 out of 5 eggssupports 2-way SLI /crossfire 16x/8x

Pros: Green

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The specs for newegg don't show the PCI slot speed but as gigabytes website says it does support 2way SLI/crossfire at 16x / 8x

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Board

Pros: Used this board for my first build; it's working great with my 4770k processor. Decided to go all out, and glad I did. Just recently starting using a nice pair of headphones to utilize the some of the sound blaster 3D and plan on getting some surround sound as well because it sounds great. BIOs is really easy to work with over clocking is a definite in the future. Also the board is super durable.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Not a con really but the debug and power LEDs are annoying if you're going for a green color scheme because they are bright red.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible

Pros: looks good sounds like its supposed to be nice.

Cons: #1 the killer lan is a joke if your running windows 8 or 8.1 the drivers/software from gigabyte are not compatible it will use all your ram up over time unless you restart your pc once every few hours. and killer will not help on the matter other than telling me to install the latest driver from the website over and over again.
#2 the audio card while working properly sounds pretty good for on board when its working properly. randomly the audio card would get very distorted and so loud that I could hear my headset across a 4000 square foot home screeching. tell me that's good on a set of Astro a40's which is the reason I purchased this board in the first place.
#3 this board was rma'ed do to not posting bios and would not show display after 2 months of use and all the above was mentioned and confirmed by gigabyte that they would fix it.
#4 had to call gigabyte repeatedly to find out where my board was it sat in rma complete status for two weeks before one person I talked to went back to the shipping dept. and found it setting there ready to ship and he informed me he had no idea has to why it was setting there and that it had been setting there for several days. im thinking had I not called and called and called I might still be waiting.
#5 and now were back to square one again well for the most part, the board posts and boots fine but the audio is back to doing the same thing and I didn't mention this before but games are crashing do to unknown errors.

Other Thoughts: To be honest the audio has never stopped messing up since I got the board back I just passed it off has a windows 8/8.1/7 issue because I tried them all. Same issues with all three operating systems and rebooted windows 8 so many time with fresh install Microsoft had to issue me a new key. My friend has the exact same setup and all three operating systems running on it and has had no issues at all of this kind. Ive tried three power supplies two sets of ram two dvd burners 3 different video cards, had the board out of the case running all with same result of failure. I think ive definitely bent over backwards on resolving these issues has instructed by gigabyte tech support and demand a refund or a new WORKING replacement immediately.
NO I would not recommend this to a friend!

memory and cpu were all off the supported lists. working environment is always a steady 68F and the system is in a well ventilated case.

5 out of 5 eggsScaled down POWERHOUSE

Pros: This has got to be one of the best looking motherboards on the market to date. In addition to looks (which is a huge factor for enthusiasts today), is a pretty strong gaming platform and a very decent overclocker to boot. UEFI BIOS is pretty simple and once you learn where everything is, set up pretty well. Also very good looking as well, especially compared to the old tried and true version everyone is used to from Gigabyte. The feature I like the best out of everything else is the 2 BIOS switches. Anyone who has used a Gigabyte mainboard in the past knows what I mean. Finally some real control over the BIOSes.

Cons: There's only one small thing I wish Gigabyte would have included which is Adaptive Offset for the Vcore and Vring. I originally thought that Adaptive was only a feature some other motherboard manufacturers had exclusively on their hardware but after some fact finding, it's a Haswell feature. Don't know why they didn't include it but it's not a big deal to me at least.

Other Thoughts: I don't know why people complain about having to flash the BIOS after turning the rig on for the 1st time since it should be the first thing a user should do on ANY platform no matter the socket, chipset, whatever. This came out of the box with BIOS version F5 and the latest (at least when this was written) is version F7. This is the only version they have for download so obviously F5 had some bugs or was just plain out dated. Make sure it's taken care of from the get go.

My rig:
i5 4670k @ 4.4 GHz (24/7 OC)
Gigabyte G1 Sniper M5
2x 8 GB A-Data XPG Gaming V2.0 DDR3 @ 2400 MHz
2x EVGA GTX 780 Dual FTW w/ ACX
EVGA SuperNova 1300 Watt G2
250 GB Samsung 840 Series SSD
1 TB WD Black 7200 rpm HDD
Corsair H100i
Corsair Air 540

5 out of 5 eggsGreat gaming MOBO

Pros: -Easy to overclock
-Great hardware sound, especially via the native headset jack and my Sennheiser 350SE. Even my old Logitech THX speakers sound better.
-Nice aesthetics in the case

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsBios update, etc. ; thank you Gigabyte, truly love you !!

Pros: New bios fixes the Bios interface, adds new options, fixes mouse speed in Winmode menu quite a bit.

@bios page, second link (1 below x79) gives you easy app to auto update bios while booted in windows. Disable hyperthreads in Bios before you use it, as it notes.

chipset, intel extras, sound etc auto detect _use IE with admin privs if fails on your browser.

Cons: Nada. Still running strong after many configs. So far takes some thermal abuse like a champ, HWmonitor tells all. None for me, truly none. A true 4770k board for the long voyage.

Other Thoughts: Get it while it still exists, Newegg runs out of them from time to time. Probably discontinued in a couple months time or so.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Awesome z87 MB. Colors! + all the features I need

Cons: Price might be a bit up there but so are all the others.

Also more info on the op amps and more comparisons would have made this 6 eggs XD

Other Thoughts: Not many people have high tech levels in sound quality these days, so some more effort from gigabyte would be nice and make it easier to select the perfect op amp for each user.
The MB comes with 2 op amps and I also got the 3 pack for free and I have no idea which I should use or maybe purchase a more expensive one from somewhere else.
