5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Awesome Entry Level Board. I build over 10 computers with this board and no problems. Dual Monitor support right out of the box.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I need to order the Parallel and Serial Header cables, Does anyone know the part numbers to order?

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointing Warranty Service

Pros: Worked well for over five months and then would not boot at all.

Cons: It took exactly four weeks to get the "repaired" motherboard back from Gigabyte after initiating the RMA process and it exhibited the exact same symptoms as it would not boot at all. I bought an Asus board with the same B85 chipset at a local retailer that same night, and it worked fine. I asked Gigabyte to refund the original cost of its board but was just issued another RMA to send the board in again.

3 out of 5 eggsFollow Up Review

Pros: Easy BIOS
Lots of fan headers
SATA 3
USB 3.0

Cons: I have had this MB for several months now, and it is beginning to do strange and annoying things.
A message keeps popping up saying that one of the USB ports is not recognized, and sometimes, there is no GUI showing on the monitor. And the audio will suddenly drop out...no sound at all! All of these issues get "fixed" when I restart the PC. This shouldn't be.

Other Thoughts: I have been using Gigabyte MB's for years, and have have good results, this is the first one that has ever given me problems.

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid LGA1150 Motherboard

Pros: Board layout is excellent. Good use of heatsinks on the VRMs. Solid construction. Easy to navigate BIOS with well-chosen defaults. 3 Fan headers. USB3.0 header.

Cons: PCI slots are an anachronism.

Other Thoughts: This is a really good, no-nonsense LGA1150 motherboard. Perfect for a budget Core i3 build. All of my hardware was properly detected by Kubuntu 14.04. I'm very pleased so far. My other Gigabyte board is still going strong after 5 years.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect board for me

Pros: Very good for anyone who uses a single GPU and doesn't overclock.
It has the LGA 1150 socket for the latest chips, four RAM slots up to 32 gb, an extra pcie x4 for expansion slots, and lots of other connectors for displays and peripherals.
I am running this flawlessly with my i7 4770 and 8gb 1600 ram. What I like is that it has 4 ram slots so I can add more instead of replacing sticks. It has one pciex16 slot, which is enough because I'm not planning on doing multi GPU. What I do like about this board is that the USB ports stay on after the computer is off, so I can charge my phone, or attach a USB lamp.
Not too related but the realtek driver that came with the CD has amazing sound. Sounds better quality than my phone.
BIOS is easy to navigate and use.
This is good board for it's price, and is straightforward, with no bullcrap with it.

Cons: one thing that I don't understand is why does this board have two PCI slots. PCI is old and no one uses it anymore. I would rather have it replaced by PCI x1 slots.
Other than that, there are no other con's.

3 out of 5 eggsNo Bios. Black Screen.

Pros: Boots really fast!

Cons: Trying to update BIOS but not working. Computer boots up, shows logo, but cannot get into BIOS. I press/spam the keys to get into bios but nothing happens except stuck on black screen. So had to restart PC. So to sum it up, everytime i press a button at boot up, it will stuck on black screen and will not boot up bios or and thing.

Other Thoughts: It works and its fast other than he no bios black screen error.

1. Be sure the CPU is supported by this motherboard, for CPU support list please go to the GIGABYTE website.

2. Check memory requirement and memory installation, be sure the memory is/are seated properly. You may test the board with a single stick to rule a single bad stick of memory.

3. Be sure the ATX 24-Pin and ATX 12V 4 or 8-Pin are plugged in firmly into the board.

4. Check for visible bent or broken pin(s) in the CPU socket (Intel CPU).

5. If you have an add-on video card installed, please check if the card requires additional powers 4, 6, or 8 Pin PCIE power.

6. Test the board on a non-conductive surface or test bench to rule out the grounding possibility.

7. Check monitor for video input selection, VGA, DVI, or HDMI.

8. Avoid using any video adapter or KVM switch.

9. Test with different video cable.

10. Clear the CMOS by taking out the CMOS battery from the battery socket, leave it out for 5 minutes and place it back after that (positive side faces up).

4 out of 5 eggsWorking right out of box

Pros: Everything working so far.
Didn't have to do anything to get my components working.

Cons: Time will tell.

Other Thoughts: I don't build computers for a living/hobby or have 40+ years of technical experience.
I just read up cpu/memory compatibility charts and purchase according to what I need or want.

1 out of 5 eggsLost my business due to atrocious customer service

Pros: Pros? Honestly, nothing worth mentioning.

Cons: Nearly-dead on arrival. PC crashes every 30 mins. 100% confirmed casue = mobo.
*Absolute WORST* customer service I have ever dealt w/ in my life. After spending a LOT of money to diagnose the problem, they were not willing to send me a replacement - only option is for me to send mine in for them to repair it. They won't just take it back & refund my money either b/c they're not the vendor. And they told me they are absolutely unwilling to cover my shipping costs. I did not pay for a refurbished item; I paid for a new one. And since I'm beyond my 30-day Newegg warranty, I can't get my money back through Newegg. Both individuals I talked to at Gigabyte (email & phone) were rude. They were 100% unwilling to help me out in any way, rude & insulting, uncooperative, & not willing to make any ammends for sending me a faulty product. I will never buy from Gigabyte again, simply b/c of their horrific customer service.

Other Thoughts: If you are planning on buying from GIGABYTE, make sure you have absolutely NO intention of ever returning your product after Newegg's 30-day warranty. Giagabyte will not do anything to help you out.
