1 out of 5 eggsDead out of box.

Pros: Looks nice. Heavy, sturdy. Solid connectors. Basically physical build is nice

Cons: Dead out of the box. Wont even enter post.

When dual bios enabled, it cycle resets itself immediately upon powered on

When set to single bios, it stays on (saying its using main bios) but nothing happens. power to fans and cpu (some heat). nothing else.

NO codes on the onboard LCD display. It's dark.

Nada. Dead. Won't even enter post.

Tried all configurations and alternate hardware and it does the same thing no matter what i've hooked it to.

Bought this a while back and it was in storage as I didn't need it right away. Cant return it now and I find it pointless to waste my time with giga support. Cheaper/faster to buy a new board from another company at this point since I need the system up now.

Other Thoughts: never wait to check these. apparently they ship them DOA. unacceptable for a 200$ board

Ive had issues with all mobo brands over the years but this is the first one that's dead out of the box.

If it fried my 4790 i'll be very upset.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible Warranty Service

Pros: None that I can think of. Extremely frustrated with the whole warranty procedure and lack of communication.

Cons: Motherboard died in less than 1 month. I RMA'd it back to Gigabyte. (Beware they don't cover the shipping, all expenses are on you.) They've had it for over 1 week already and it's still listed as "under repair". I can't believe they are trying to repair it instead of just sending out a new one. No status updates at all from them.

Other Thoughts: Had I known about Gigabytes lazy warranty practices and lack of communication, I would have never have bought any of their products. Lesson learned.

2 out of 5 eggsBad Luck, stuff happens

Pros: Ran well for about 3 months

Cons: I bought this in April and put my computer together myself. First build ever, but it ran perfectly up until a few weeks ago. Probably the first week in July. After Neweggs return policy expired, but luckily before Gigabytes policy is up.

Randomly my computer shut off and wont turn back on. Not the PSU, but after some troubleshooting and advice from Geek Squad I RMA-ed the mobo to Gigabyte. Packaged it NICELY, I mean this was sealed in a box with plenty of cushion around it. This is noteworthy for later. Then I ship it to Cali where the warehouse is. This took about a week to get there and cost me $12. Ok, whatever- as long as I get my mobo back I dont care.

Today I get an email with 9 pictures of my box blown open, it looked like it was shot with a shotgun, and the stuffing all over. And of course the mobo is damaged and Gigabyte says since it was damaged in shipping the warranty is no longer valid.

Other Thoughts: I guess the point of this email is to inform everyone who is thinking about a GIgabyte mobo to consider this information and that stuff can happen and GIgabyte wont back you. Now I have to purchase a new mobo and wasted about $160 and I cant even check if my other components are ok yet. The whole system could be fried or something.

I will be calling both companies to see what my options are, but I am guessing there is nothing they can do.

-2 eggs for failing after 3 months and -1 for not helping a customer when he needed it.

2 out of 5 eggsStill no joy

Pros: In combination with the Core I7, this board if pretty fast.

Cons: BIOS out of the box is outdated, which is OK of course, as long as a valid updating method is available. Gigabyte provides 3 'easy' ways to update the BIOS, none of which worked. I was forced to contact the company and download a 3rd party partitioning utility to format a thumb drive and update it via the thumb drive. Which is also OK, of course, but a bit of a pain in the neck. My chief complaint is this board has crashed my system 3 times and each time it happens, the RAID config. is lost and I have to rebuild it from a backup. I've exchanged emails with Gigabyte and they explain that it's not supposed to do that. Yeah, I know, but it still does. Can I get a RAID driver update? I already have it, they say. I explained that I intend to overclock my proc and since I am new to overclocking, resetting my BIOS might have to occur in the future and no way do I want to have to rebuild my RAID each time it happens. Can I get a new board? No. Can I get a refund? No.

I am not buying any more Gigabyte gear. Period.

Other Thoughts: There are many other adequate boards out there - steer clear of this one.

1 out of 5 eggsTotal Disappointment

Pros: None so far as this board has been nothing but problems. to try and get started.

Cons: Board came without proper support installed for Haswell. Borad does not get past code 15 memory test in dual channel mode .

Other Thoughts: This is my third Gigabyte board and thought I'd try the UD4H rather than the OC that has performed well for me twice already. Big mistake. Gigabyte now down a couple of notches and will consider other board MFG if they do not get back to me soon with the RMA.

1 out of 5 eggsBlue Screen Issues, RMA Problems

Pros: I have been using Gigabyte boards for several years. For a new build this had everything I needed as far as ports and connectors, dual bios that is selectable on the MB, post readout, on board on-off and reset switches, and many other nice features for the priice. It is an attractive board as well, and with the Gigabyte heavy duty construction and, usually, quality.

Cons: I began getting blue screens right after loading Windows 7. After exchanging EVERY component on the board, including hard drive, memory, video card, power supply...all but the actual CPU, The blue screens continued. I then ordered the x97 version on this board, put the same components back in the box and NO blue screens in a couple of weeks...was several per day (a wide variety of sources for the blue screen...no discernible pattern) So I pretty well confirmed a problem with this MB. So I submitted an RMA to Gigabyte, which they say will be responded to in 2 days. It has been two weeks and nothing.

Other Thoughts: At this point I am stuck. I should also mention that the first board I purchased had some issues for which I RMA'd it, and that process worked fine. Not sure why no response this time. Be careful if you purchase this board.

2 out of 5 eggsBetter boards exist!

Pros: This board delivers on everything it claims except the BIOS update is totally wonky and if you've set up a RAID config, you will lose it! Heed the warnings offered by others and go for an Intel board.

Cons: I've had this board for 2 months and it's been a constant struggle. Getting a current BIOS is a NIGHTMARE. If anything goes wrong the RAID is not rebuild-able. Be sure you have an adequate backup!

Other Thoughts: Intel boards - way better!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat now that the BSOD Issue resolved

Pros: Runs faster than my 990XA motherboard with a Vishera FX-6350. On board Intel NIC is faster than a separate Intel NIC card that I was using on my previous MB.

Cons: The board has an issue when using 4 sticks of memory. It also has an issue with the SD Extreme SSD drive. I was getting 4 BSOD’s a day – even when the PC was idle, for no reason. Each time it would give a different error. I am using the G-Skill memory that is on the QVL list and it just so happened that it is the same memory I was using on my previous Gigabyte MB without any issues. But just to rule out a possible memory issue, I ran memtest 86 overnight and the memory passed with no errors. I then decided to use a pair of WD Black edition HD’s in Raid 0, and thought that this would resolve the BSOD issues as I had read that the SSD I was using has caused issues with Z87 based MB’s. After going through a fresh install of W7 again, I was now getting 2 BSOD’s a day. At this point, I was clueless. I thought that after numerous builds using Gigabyte MB’s, I had got a defective MB. I started to do some research and found that this seems to be a common issue regardless of the MB manufacturer when using 4 sticks of ram on a Z87 MB. Thanks to a review here on Newegg, I found the answer. It turns out that the bios does not properly detect the correct voltage when using 4 sticks of Ram, but not so when using only 2 sticks of ram, as most people have. When I checked the voltage setting in the bios, they were detected as 1.46v, the memory should be at 1.5 volts. After manually adjusting the memory voltage, no more BSOD’s.

Other Thoughts: I think that GB should correct this issue in a future Bios release, as I have the latest bios revision, F9. Additionally, the manufacturer should post this on their web site, as there is no mention of it what so ever. Up until this point, I have always used AMD MB’s and CPU’s and have used Gigabyte MB’s but found that Intel has a better CPU and chipset. I got the i5-4670 CPU and it runs faster that the Vishera 6350. Additionally, certain apps run better with an Intel. I read recently that other than gaming software, other software manufacturers do not totally support AMD CPU’s to take full advantage of it. As always, Newegg had the best price and fast shipping.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Another great quality motherboard from Gigabyte. Install was a snap and the installation CD was a breeze. Compared to all other boards I've assembled this one weighs a ton and is a rock solid build but that's more than likely due to the heatsinks.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte has great Tech Support and responds immediately to any concerns that anyone may have which is a plus for me.

5 out of 5 eggsAnother Great product

Pros: Love this board. I bought it at a great price and has lots of features and ports available. The board is very durable and solid construction. Works great out of the box. Comes with the new UEFI BIOS setup. Plan on using this motherboard with a Linux OS installed.

Cons: Wish it had a Fire Wire 1394 port for my camera.

Other Thoughts: I have not received a DOA motherboard from Gigabyte and had good support service. Keep up the great quality service.
