Deployable through a simple BIOS update, the support of the Intel Xeon processors E5-2600 V2 product family delivers the benefits of the 22nm tri-gate process technology to the high end server industry. Pros: Lots of features for low price, Quad NICs + onboard Management make for good virtual host.
Cons: While the specs list supported CPUs as "E5-2600" family if you were unlucky like I was, and get a board without an updated BIOS, Ivy Bridge CPUs will NOT boot on this board. Now I have to find a Sandy Bridge CPU just to boot and update the BIOS before it will be usable.
Other Thoughts: Wishing IPMI allowed you to update the motherboard bios, since IPMI is working fine.
