5 out of 5 eggsUtilities

Pros: Just adding to my previous preview. Maybe I should just give it one egg so gigabyte reads this review.

Cons: Just like to tell people never install gigabytes Utilities on your system. Don't have time to explain. If your having problems with your computer try uninstalling they're utilities first.

Other Thoughts: Another thing that makes me mad. if you install the drivers they have the driver CD loaded with junk software that has nothing to do with drivers. Google crome, google toolbar, Norton antivirus,etc.. When I load that my drivers I want drivers not software I don't like. Gigabyte needs to get that junk of their driver CD.

5 out of 5 eggsMotherboead

Pros: Everything on this board works like it should.

Cons: Always wonder about people posting negative comments if they know what they are doing.

Other Thoughts: There are a lot of negative reviews on this board but I have Had no issues with it, and I do a lot of testing before I hand the computer over to my customers. I have been using nothing but Gigabyte boards for years(yes I have tried others) and never had any issues. Everything always works like it's supposed to.

1 out of 5 eggsShould have read the reviews more

Pros: Seems like a solid board

Cons: First system I'll be building in years, so I decided to go straight for the a10-7850k, but apparently I can't even use it right out of the box. I was hoping to be up and running by Wednesday, but that's not gonna happen since I have to flash the board to make it work, but I need and old chip to do so, is stupid. Who's bright idea was it to ship boards with revision 1 on it when you've had revision 4 since 2013. I'll be returning this board as soon as i get it.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks Fine When You Get A Good Board

Pros: Update of previous review:
As mentioned in a previous review, board has everything I wanted for a new Media PC setup - primarily RAID for 8 drives.

Cons: Original board would not enter RAID setup. Gigabyte technical support was useless - 2 responses from them, each dumber than the last. Returned board and got a new one - works fine! RAID setup on 1st try. Everything else seems to work - board seems solid.
Cost an arm and a leg to return 1st board to Newegg (hasn't gotten there yet and I'm up and running with new board from elsewhere).

Other Thoughts: Board has a lot of good features for the price. But when you factor in 50/50 quality and return cost, higher priced boards with better quality might be a better route.

4 out of 5 eggsNot So Great

Pros: Up to 8 SATA 6.0Gbps ports, looks to be solid design. Good specs for a decent price point.

Cons: Bought the motherboard because it supposedly can handle RAID - up to 8 drives! So far, cannot get CTRL+R to work to get into RAID setup after enabling in SATA settings in BIOS. Even tried out newest beta BIOS. Very disappointing. Everything else seems to work that I've tried (usb 2.0 ports, usb 3.0 ports, VGA port). Memory speed reported is slower than speed of ram in machine, but haven't tried up-clocking it yet.

Other Thoughts: Waiting to hear from Gigabyte tech support. May be sending this board back. If so, I will downgrade eggs later (I grade severely for quality control problems.)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: Worked perfectly.

Cons: None. Works perfectly.

Other Thoughts: Got this to pair with my new FM2+ Kaveri and am not disappointed in the least! Absolutely love this new build.

I love Gigabyte. Best motherboards out there.

3 out of 5 eggsI didn't research this mobo as much as I should have.

Pros: It is a beautiful MOBO and has a some nice extras for the price.

Cons: Not the normal ATX size. If you have one of the FM2+ cpus I hope you already had one of the older FM2 socket type cpus because if not then you will not be able to update the bios to recognize the FM2+ without buying an older cpu.

3 out of 5 eggsGigabyte F2A88X

Pros: Well organized board, with easy expansion.
The sata ports are the best part, its very uncluttered with them.

Cons: Board arrived with a bad cpu fan header. Went with the Asus A88X and haven't looked back.

Other Thoughts: Maybe I was the lucky one who got a dud?

5 out of 5 eggsCannot load Windows

Pros: After not getting XP or Windows 7 Home Premium to install from their bootable DVDs it was accomplished with Windows 7 Home Premium on a bootable flash drive. If problems are encountered when loading OS from a bootable DVD in an external DVD drive try installing from a flash drive.

Cons: none now.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid enough board, when you get a working one.

Pros: Every feature I wanted at $20 less than the going price for a high-quality FM2+ board.

More SATA ports than my case can fit devices for.

Logical layout, and everything is labeled clearly enough to make the instruction manual unnecessary... yet it also came with a detailed manual. All bases covered.

BIOS settings allow GUI control over everything that I used to do with jumpers back in the 90s... plus some.

Lots of display ports, I've got a multi-monitor setup using monitors of various ages... even my old 17" VGA is being used again.

Plenty of room if I ever decide to crossfire an R7 video card or two with my 7850k.

Cons: First one came DOA... wouldn't POST, the most I could get out of it was power to fans... and I could force a RAM error beep.

The board isn't wide enough to rest on a standard ATX standoff position to support the corner that carries the RAM... so I had to jury-rig the case with a plastic standoff and zip-ties.

Other Thoughts: To anyone wondering about the case I kept mentioning, it's a first-generation Antec 900 that I've had since 2007. It modernized nicely with a 5.25" bay USB3.0 expansion.

The RMA process cost me an extra $11 shipping, but it was very timely. The replacement board works just fine.
