5 out of 5 eggsSo Far so Good.

Pros: Worked right out the box. Didn't check to see what bios version I had though seeing as I had the A10-6800K which works with the first version of the bios.

Cons: The uefi is messing up my windows install. I upgraded each version of windows since XP, so Windows 8 said it wouldn't take my key because it was a upgraded key. So I dunno who top blame on this one as my Asus 990FX worked fine.

Other Thoughts: Overall im happy with product. If something goes wrong in next few months ill shoot another review.

4 out of 5 eggsEdit: One Egg Lost

Pros: GIGABYTE, FM2+ compatible, onboard WiFi and Bluetooth, On/Off charge and all other GIGABYTE features, UEFI BIOS is a breeze to use

Cons: Only two fan headers (one CPU, one SYS), no PC speaker header

Other Thoughts: I've been a fan of GIGABYTE boards since 2010, and this is a great board for my purposes (low cost home workstation). I gave it 5 eggs in my last review, but now I'm having a problem (no keyboard, mouse or monitor signal) and I can't do any POST troubleshooting because there's no PC speaker header on the board. I didn't realize this when I reviewed it the first time, but now that it's having issues, not having a PC speaker is a pretty serious problem. I've submitted a support ticket, so I'll have to see how that goes.

1 out of 5 eggsHangs at BIOS Splash Screen

Pros: Great Features, my previous Gigabyte boards were terrific. Believe it is a quality board, but doomed by a BIOS issue.

Cons: Hangs at BIOS Splash Screen. Can ctrl-alt-delete and that is it. Can't get to BIOS, Qflash et al...

Other Thoughts: Used A8-7600 CPU and believe I am bit by the BIOS version. Can't QFlash, can't even get to BIOS. Possibly NewEgg is still shipping boards with the older BIOS... In any case, unable to get refund from NewEgg (3 hrs on chat....).

4 out of 5 eggsGood board, but beware of the lack of VGA connector.

Pros: Overall great board. I have no complaints so far in terms of its performance .

Cons: There's no VGA connector on this board. It is of my shortcomings to overlook the lack of it, but I just have never seen a motherboard without a VGA connector before. Also, since it has a DVI-D which can't be converted to analogue VGA, the only option to support old monitors is to convert from HDMI.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat FM2+ board.

Pros: - nicest of the scanty FM2+ mITX MB options
- heatsink on VRMs
- IO shield is nice, not just a crude stamped piece of metal
- came with up to date BIOS installed
- works nicely with linux (Intel 7260 wifi/bluetooth fully supported)
- latest version supports 2400MHz RAM

Cons: - CPU socket is close to PICe slot (about 6cm clearance from centre of socket) and RAM slots (about 4.5cm from centre of socket), which seriously limits options for coolers.
- hardware monitoring chip ITE8620E not supported by linux, although semi-works with it87 module

Other Thoughts: I used this for a SteamOS system, and everything just worked out of the box. I had to use a 92mm CPU cooler as anything 120mm would not clear the PCIe slot..

3 out of 5 eggsWorked great for a while...

Pros: Easy to install, Bios was easy to navigate. Setting XMP Profiles for memory was a cinch. Worked well for 8 months.

Cons: The board worked flawlessly for about 8 months and then all of a sudden it wouldn't post with both sticks of memory. It would only boot with one in at a time. Very frustrating considering it's running my Plex server. Taking a hit from 8 to 4 gigs of ram is a major pain. I just sent it in for RMA 2 days ago. I hope I get a working board back soon. Also the PCI E slot tab was faulty and broke off.

Other Thoughts: Built in raid controller doesn't make it very easy to initialize disks over 4tb... I figured it out but it wasn't easy.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks with Kaveri

Pros: Works out of the box with an A10-7800. AMD R9 2133mhz RAM defaulted to 1866 on the first boot but after changing it to 2133 it has been stable. Maybe not a big deal to some but the I/O shield looks nice which is a welcome change from the cheap chincy stuff you get sometimes.

Cons: BIOS options seem limited. Lots of things say "press enter/double click to change this" and then you do that and nothing happens. The 7800 is limited in its overclocking, granted, but this is the case even for options you should be able to muck around with.

Bundled tuning/hardware monitor software is not as polished as similar offerings from MSI or ASRock, even from prior generations.

Other Thoughts: Not sure if it is the mobo or the cooling solution or what, but the AMD chip throttles during games down to 2.5GHz, and there does not appear to be any option in the mobo BIOS to lock it. This is of course probably for the best but I wouldn't mind the option to do so at my own risk.

Download Intel's wireless drivers directly from Intel, the ones on the Gigabyte website are out of date as of the date of this review and I was not getting good performance from them.

5 out of 5 eggsGigabyte f2a88xi-wif

Pros: -perfect wifi
-usb 3
-ram worked
-satas 0-1 work (havent tried other 2)

Cons: none atm

Other Thoughts: Got this today, and i was skeptical if i could get it working. Suffice to say it works. MoBo came with latest bios (f4) and upon seeing that, i was happy it would work with my fm2+ processor. (Athlon x4 860k). Was pleasantly surprised by it, so 5 eggs! time will tell though.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice board

Pros: Loaded with features - built in Wi-Fi and x16 PCI Express slot are the most useful to me. The I/O panel is well constructed. (This may seem minor but lousy I/O panels are a nuisance.)

Cons: Drivers for the board are on two discs; Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on one and the rest on the other. The installation utility on the disc "with all the rest" freezes up and fails on Windows 7 w/ SP1, requiring manual installation. This is kind of a pain but not enough to lose an egg.

Other Thoughts: Excellent board for the money. We have purchased 10 so far and I expect to buy more.

4 out of 5 eggsLove the Motherboard

Pros: I love this mobo. Its got alot going for it. it has the antenna pins and comes with an antenna which i think is awesome because its also magnetic. The Motherboard has a nice bios, it runs cool, it fits in my evga hadron air and i love it.

Cons: i cant find the drivers for the USB 3.0 ports. It has 4 of them and thats really the only problem im having right now but i wouldnt mind some help figuring out if this board "needs" the work around or if the drivers are on the CD. Thanks
