5 out of 5 eggsgreat board.....rebate scam

Pros: great board as said in previous review

Cons: these rebate companies are crooks!!!
they will not send your rebate
always take a digital image of all paperwork
i can't believe they can get away with this

Other Thoughts: the only way to get your rebate is to keep calling and tell them u have a pic of all the proof needed......... then they will finally send it

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: This mobo was very easy to install, everything dropped right in no problem. I didn't have any problems on initial start up, and didn't have any issues booting linux up off of a USB flash drive. Noctua L9a cooler mounted easily onto the board, and is cooling my CPU nicely. Installed some DDR3-1866 ram, and it had no problem recognizing it, and running it at full speed.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Make sure to check CPU compatibility on Gigabyte's site before you make your final order, it seems that other people have had issues. I put an X4 750k in this, and had absolutely no issues.

I'd happily buy this board again for another build.

1 out of 5 eggsI think if it worked i would be more satisfied

Pros: It fits inside my chassis

Cons: It failed before I could even start it up. I quadruple checked all cables and connections, turned on supply and pressed the buttons and....nothing, the fans jiggled for about a half second then turned off again. it would then require to be totally turned off including the power supply to attempt to turn back on

Other Thoughts: I hope I can get this replaced and give it another shot, I hope that the second time works better

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

Please check the following:

1. Be sure both ATX 24-Pin and ATX12V 4 or 8-Pin are firmly connected into the board.

2. Check the chassis power switch to make sure it's connected to the "Power Switch" pins on the front panel header, please see user manual for the exact location of the power switch pins.

3. Power up the system by making contact the power switch pins with a paperclip.

4. Disconnect additional components or hardware to see if the system is able to power on with the minimum system configuration.

5. Test the motherboard on the test bench (outside of the computer case) to eliminate the ground issue.

6. Try another power outlet or bypass any battery backup system.

7. If possible, test the power supply unit in another PC to ensure it is in working condition.

8. Attempt to test different model of power supply unit to rule out PSU related possibility.

1 out of 5 eggsWish i had some pros but...

Pros: If it worked I imagine I'd be a lot happier

Cons: I installed all my new components quadruple checked all connections pressed that power and! nothing, the fans started to turn for a quarter of a second then it turned off completely and would require the reset of the power supply to attempt to start again

Other Thoughts: I really want to give this another chance but I don't want to be disappointed again:/

5 out of 5 eggsCan't Complain

Pros: Support for DDR3 2133.
A10-6800k ran flawlessly on it.
Plenty of room to expand if the need arises.
Extra USB 3.0 ports were icing.

Cons: Only two 4pin PWM connections on the board. I had two system fans, and with the CPU fan plugged into one, that left meant I had to run a splitter between the other two. Not a big deal on a board this cheap but something to mention.
No heatsinks on the VRM?
I didn't bother overclocking the A10-6800k so no idea how the board performance above specs.

Other Thoughts: I would buy one again if I needed something like it. I really only went for this one because of the USB 3.0 ports, though the PCIe slots are a bonus.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Post

Pros: None so far

Cons: Won't boot, after buying the bundle from Newegg and hooking everything up system doesn't post. Installed the X4 750K and no boot.

The AMD Athlon X4 750K does not have built in graphics, you'll have to use an add-on graphics card in order to get it to POST or replace the CPU with the AMD A series APU.

1 out of 5 eggsBig Problem - Does Not Work

Pros: I like the board layout. Installation was easy, but since I don't have it operating I can not provide any other Pro's.

Cons: I am using an A10 processor and 8gb of GSkill 1866 ram.
I install everything per Gigabyte instructions. Turned the power on and the system booted with no problems. Installed Windows 7 Premium and when the system came up I installed the drivers using the Gigabyte Disc. I then went to the Gigabyte Site to update the drivers as I normally do. That is when the problems began. The system booted but shortly thereafter froze up. I rebooted several times but it still would freeze up. Thinking I got a bad update file I downloaded and installed the update again. This seemed to solve the problem. But after about 10 mins it froze again. Thinking I might still have a corrupted file I used an AMD program they advertise for removing drivers. This is when my current problem began. On the AMD site they have a Uninstall Utility program that said "The AMD Clean Uninstall Utility will attempt to remove any previously installed AMD Catalyst™ driver and AMD files and folders from the system. This helps prepare the system for a driver update by preventing errors relating to missing/corrupt files associated with the AMD Catalyst software that may occur during/after the driver installation process." I ran the program and it removed the driver but what they did not tell me was that I would not be able to get to the operating system to install a different driver. That is were I am now. I can not boot the operating system or do a re-install. The Windows 7 install program keeps wanting a driver and it does not recognize the Gigabyte installation Disc. For some reason the BIOS does not recognize either of the hard drives. It just shows a boot X drive that provides little functionality and does not boot the system. What can I do to get the motherboard drivers re-installed?.

Other Thoughts: I really don't want to RMA the board. There has to be some way to re-install the drivers. I requested assistance from Gigabyte and got ticket # 18904. Somebody sent me e-mail 18904-2 with 4 questions and this was my answer: 1. Yes I am running a fresh Windows Install. 2. I can't install them. Windows has to be operating in order to install anything. Since I deleted the chipset drivers using the AMD program I told you about I can not boot Windows. 3. I have two disc drives and they are both okay. 4. Yes I have tried both hard drives in the same Sata port. I have also tried several other data ports. I have not heard from Gigabyte since, so I don't know if they are going to help or not.

1. Are you able to reinstall the OS on one single hard drive connected into the PC?

2. Please test with the minimum system config: motherboard, CPU, onboard graphics, and 1 stick of memory module only.

3. If you need immediate attention, please contact us at 626-854-9338 option 3.

4 out of 5 eggsWroks fine but....

Pros: Lots of features and connections

Cons: Could not boot from USB flash drive

Other Thoughts: I have always put together my own systems and seldom had any problems. This time I started with MSI E35 mobo first then the E45 both had defective audio. Got this board and no audio problem. Only thing is I was able to boot Ubuntu from USB flash drive on the MSI board but somehow this Gbyte board won't recognize the same USB drive.
