1 out of 5 eggsEndless on Off Cycle

Pros: Good specs for the price and with a company with a good rep for good build quality and responsive customer service..

Cons: After installing in an all new build, the MB starts to boot for 2 seconds and then clicks off for 5 seconds, then on for 2 etc. This endless cycle repeats and repeats until the power is turned off. Checked the installation and it all is good, just the G! MB "misbehaving."
Will RMA to new-egg and try another one.

FYI I have another build with a different Gigabyte board that needed to be repaired under warranty and they did fix it. But this this one is brand new!

Other Thoughts: With about 20 years of building my own computers, this is the first bad MB out of the box. It was bound to happen eventually. I'm sure it will be resolved. Just a bit of a hassle.

One star is all I can give a product that is DOA,

4 out of 5 eggsGood Mobo for the price

Pros: Affordable, durable, good BIOS interface, great on-board sound.

Cons: The one heatsink above the socket got in the way of my Kraken X60 radiator, so I had to return the cooler. I use a NZXT phantom 530 case.

Other Thoughts: Had to ship from the US, so I'd suggest you pay extra for faster shiping

2 out of 5 eggs8 hours wasted

Pros: The reason why I bought this board was it was under 200.00 with a decent sound card integrated in it. Everything included.

Cons: DOA. Stuck in a reboot cycle. Switched to the dual Bios Computer came on and stayed on however there was no video output. Tried 3 difrent monitors and cable connections. Took out the Ram and the New video card placed them in my running computer started up no problems. So it is either the Mother board or the Processor. However I am leaning to the mother board due to the re-boot cycle right out of the box. It's to bad I liked this board and it was perfect for what I needed it for. (Building a computer for my sister)

Other Thoughts: This is my first time dealing with New Egg on a return. I hope everything goes well. But still dis-heartning. Considering My sister has been with out a computer for a week, Now I got to wait another week for a board.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome Mobo!!

Pros: -Stable overclock; easy to use bios settings, advanced settings for hardcore users. I haven't had any issues with a mild overclock.
-Plenty of slots (3-pci-e, 2-pci, 2 pci-e 3.0 x16 and x8 for gfx cards)
-SLI/Crossfire Graphic card support; great for those who cant decide with Nvidia/AMD or want future capabilities of switching later on.
-Integrated sound card is good and works great with headphones; has a built in amplifier for higher impedance headphones as well as gain switches. Having this feature saves money in the long run because a dedicated sound card with a built in amp is easily over $100. But for the hardcore gamer or sound junky It is not quite as crisp sounding as a dedicated sound card but very good for something that is built in.
-Led lit "trace path lightning" is a unique feature to showcase the board
-USB 3.0 and Sata-3 connectors
-4 DDR3 DIMM slots up to 3000(OC) and 32GB
-cmos switch reset, power, cmos clear is in upper right corner which is easier access than bottom right

Cons: -Killer E2200 ethernet- I didn't notice much difference between this and your generic ethernet NIC in terms of speed or lower ping. That really depends on your ISP.
-generic red and black theme
-had to update bios for newer versions
-overhyped sound capabilities (not as good as dedicated)

Other Thoughts: This is a fantastic motherboard and very stable during a mild overclock. Easy to use gui bios. The built in audio is actually very good in my opinion and comparable to a mid range dedicated sound card. If you're not a sound junk you would be easily satisfied with this integrated feature. Gigabyte has been a trustworthy brand and very reliable in my recent builds. I would not hesitate to buy this again.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic board

Pros: Well laid out. High quality components. Excellent support.
Plenty of room around CPU socket for a huge Heatsink/waterblock. Excellent on board audio. Nice aesthetics with the lighted pathways.

Cons: Not a real con, but leaving this here to help anyone else with similar problems. Had an issue where video out wasn't working on initial boot with successful post. Make sure you don't boot with discrete graphics card in if chip provides on board. To fix I had to clear the CMOS and reset board using the on board reset button. After I did that it booted and loaded just fine. Make sure to flash to f6 or higher, Bios if using Haswell refresh CPU's for support. Gigabytes Qflash made this utterly painless.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Features and Stability

Pros: Extremely stable, even while overclocking
Several features for controlling the CPU speed and voltage

Multiple BIOS layouts make the board easy to use for beginners, while maintaining advanced features and control for experienced users.

Quad DSP Audio - The Audio is very advanced for a motherboard. Being separated from the main board helps to prevent any other components from interfering with the audio quality. On top of that, it has a high end DAC offering good noise to sound ratio. The best part of the audio is the DSPs included. These are four processors that create the sound, this helps because it takes work off of the CPU, and at the same time creates more accurate and clearer sound.

LEDs help make the board look awesome.

All SATA ports are 6GB/s making them as fast as possible.
Several USBs, included four USB 3.0 on the back I/O.

Drivers are easy to install, without any real problems.

Cons: The worst aspect of this board, I feel to be the BIOS, which I believe will be sorted out as time goes on.

The BIOS main page is easy for beginners but only has a limited amount of functions available. The secondary options menu being the "Advanced BIOS" gives more features but seems to lack ability to control everything and no longer has some basic settings able to be changed.

The Advanced Tweaking BIOS has the most functionality and really feels comfortable to use. It still feels that switching between the three is needed to really get the full function out of the board.

A slightly annoying thing, is if you want to just use the plus or minus keys to set the voltage or clock, it always starts at the bottom. Of course you can key in the number, but I like to use these keys usually. It seems it would be a lot faster and easier to start in the middle, or default setting would be easier.

Other Thoughts: I used this board with a new Intel Pentium G3258. The new overclockable Pentium. Unfortunately it seems that this CPU had some issues and only managed to overclock to 3.9Ghz.

Still at this speed in some benchmarks and tests, from Cinebench to some games, the Pentium was able on this motherboard to beat a slightly older Intel i3-3225 in performance. It lost with Winrar and some games with high multitasking. Still that it can even compete with it is impressive.

This motherboard works so well and is so feature rich that I am holding on to it to make for a much better build once Broadwell comes out. Its an excellent motherboard and I doubt anyone would be sad to have it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: This motherboard is made from high quality components, so not only does it look good, it will offer top notch stability and performance all while looking good. Gigabyte is one of the best names in computer components and this board lives up to that standard. The Qualcomm Atheros Killer LAN chipset is arguably the best LAN chipset you can use in a motherboard today. The on board audio is very high quality, though it doesn’t support 7.1 channel audio. Not something many have to worry about, but if you’re building for an HTPC (I have no idea why you’re looking at this board) but if you’re one of the few to use 7.1 surround sound this isn’t the board for you. Short of that, largely artificial, short coming the audio is high fidelity with no crackling or latency. I’m not sure what else I can say, it’s everything you’re looking for in a motherboard, newest chipset supporting the newest Intel CPU’s. Good board layout, attractive color scheme. High build quality.

Cons: Doesn’t support 7.1 surround sound. Since VERY few people even have these systems, lacking this feature doesn’t warrant removing a star.

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte has top notch build quality, support and driver compliance. They are one of the best names in computing for many good reasons, this board is one of them.

5 out of 5 eggsGIGABYTE GA-G1.Sniper Z97 motherboard

Pros: The GIGABYTE GA-G1.Sniper Z97 is a full featured motherboard for socket 1150 CPUs, which I paired with an i7-4770k. The specs are build and component quality appears to be high quality. It uses quality and long lifespan black solid capacitors and Japanese branded Nichicon audio capacitors. Audio is a big focus on this board, so I’ll begin there. The Creative Sound Core3D Quad-Core Audio Processor gives great sound, and is noted to offload workload from a CPU. It has gold plating and looks nice. The plugs on the back are also gold plated. It has an upgradeable OP-AMP and several options for gain boost for high impedance speakers/headphones. There are good software options with the SBX Pro Studio Audio Suite. Clean power goes to the dedicated USB DAC-UP for clean, low-noise power for digital-to-analog audio converter, so it is good to connect USB speakers/headphones. The motherboard also has dedicated audio hardware zone, which is also indicated with red LED lighting. The network is a Killer E2200 (Qualcomm Atheros, gigabit) and has options to easily prioritize network traffic. Supports multi-GPU with both Crossfire and SLI. Appearance wise it has a red and black theme. It works with 4th and 5th Generation Intel CPUs. There are a variety of video output options (Displayport/HDMI) on the motherboard, but I used a dedicated graphics card.

Installation of an i7-4770k (Haswell) and two 4 GB sticks of DDR3-1600 RAM was simple, it supports up to 32 GB and up to DDR3-3000 RAM (overclocked). I upgraded from a Gigabyte P67 motherboard running Win 7 64-bit. A couple restarts and installation of motherboard drivers and other drivers and all was fine. One SSD and one 3 TB spinning disk, connected to the SATA 6 gbps ports. I didn't need to reinstall Windows, but I did need to reactivate Windows, which was simple via a phone call. It was rock solid at the stock settings, very simple to get up and running. CPU overclocking from the BIOS has a classic view and UEFI with mouse support. Handy power/reset and clear CMOS buttons are right on the motherboard.

The cpu heat sink/fan I am using is not exotic, being a Hyper 212 Plus, so at 4.4 GHz, the voltage and temperature was higher than I liked during summer, so I settled at 4.3 GHz and have been running at that for several weeks. The voltage is 0.12 V offset from default of 1.10 V, so it maxes out at 1.22 V and still steps down voltage and frequency within Windows for lower power use and temperature. There are many BIOS options to further tweak individual voltages. I have not had any crashes, blue screens, or error messages in that time, remarkable stability for the motherboard, even when pushed via overclocking.

Cons: At very high overclocks (>=4.4 GHz), I hear some audio noise coming from my case when all cores loaded at 100%. I’m not sure of the source, so this could also be a limitation of my 7 year old 500W Seasonic PSU.

Other Thoughts: Using BIOS version F5, but there is a newer version. I have 4 other Gigabyte motherboards (2x P35, 1xH61, 1xP67 chipsets) in use at the current time and each has been reliable. They make a durable and quality product.

5 out of 5 eggsNice board with a couple complaints

Pros: This was a very easy motherboard to set up which is the feature I liked the best. I installed the CPU and fan, memory, video card, dvd drive, and installed all the cables and PSU. I turned it on and it was ready to go through the setup. It rebooted after than and I was on my way to installing Windows. This is my first build with an Intel CPU and was very happy that it went so quick. I didn't even install anything from the CD that came with the board until a few days later since it really isn't needed for overclocking. Bios updates were really easy to install using the included "apps" and I've updated the bios twice since I received it since the program said F4 was the newest version but checking online showed that F6 was the newest version. I won't go through all the features that make this a great motherboard since you can read them in the product description and it does have all the feature most gamers are looking for.

Cons: My only gripe with this thing is the EasyTune "app" that's included on the CD. My previous motherboard had an auto-overclock feature that would run through a bunch of iterations until it found a stable setup and that was it. This software has only two setting that I can choose from: Default and Energy Saving. The rest of the choices are all grayed out. The manual says that any choices not available on the motherboard will be grayed out. So...is the motherboard unable to overclock? No. I can go into advanced and hand tune this to my hearts desire so I'm just not sure what the problem is. I did go online and download all the newer versions of the software but nothing changed. My computer is overclocked and I'm really happy with the board but I just don't understand if I'm doing something wrong. ...I guess another small gripe is that, to me, the setup features are really confusing and some translation seem a little wrong. Ok, one more complaint...the integrated network card seems really slow compared to my old build. I can only get 1.5MB/sec on Steam downloads and I could get 3+MB/sec on the older motherboards network card.

Other Thoughts: This is my first Intel build. I've built 5 or so previous gaming computers but I've always been an AMD/ATI fanboy. I've always been told that Intel will blow away everything AMD but I'm not really seeing a big difference. This is a nice motherboard and even though I have a few complaints I'm glad I got it and will do a lot more testing and pushing it's limits in the future.
