-good onboard sound (I'm not an audiophile, so I think it's great)
-SLI support
-manual is detailed and has lots of pictures
-heatsinks around CPU socket say "G1"
-Broadwell support, if that matters
-works fine with Windows 10 if that matters

Cons: -this is a biggie for me: SKINNIER THAN STANDARD ATX SIZE, AND WILL NOT REACH ALL STAND-OFFS IN THE CASE
-because it likely won't fit all of the stand-offs in a case, you will need to be careful when plugging in the 24-pin cable and the RAM stick(s); I tried to support the underside of the motherboard with my finger when installing both
-included CD has plenty of bloatware, like an old version of Norton Antivirus and bad drivers for the Killer NIC
-Killer Suite (new, recommended drivers for Killer NIC) does nothing but eat up memory; get the standard drivers from killernetworking.com
-may not be the best for overclocking; for that, maybe look at the GA-Z97X-Gaming 5

Other Thoughts: I just built my first computer less than a month ago, and I used this motherboard. Despite all of the rookie mistakes (like neglecting to plug in the CPU power connector, or putting in both sticks of RAM before starting up for the first time), this motherboard has worked well. Again, my biggest gripes were the non-standard width and the Killer Networking software. Unfortunately, if you ever wanted to do a Skylake build, Gigabyte's Z170 ATX boards still suffer from this problem (at least the Killer Networking one can be fixed). If you can find it on sale like I did, I would highly recommend this board!

Pros: This board has caused me no troubles and can facility any desire I can think of. 32GB RAM? No problem. SLI-ed GTX 970s AND a Sound Card to boot? Sure, go ahead.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: It seems the only reason this isn't rated 5-star is fringe cases caused by defects or compatibility issues? I've had no issues, and this is my first build EVER.

Pros: -Beautifully laid out BIOS (Hi res, mouse support, extensive options for enthusiast and general user alike)
-Quality components (Caps, Heatsinks, Ect)
-Well written manual
-Audio is excellent (ALC 1150)
-It's a nice looking board with lighting in some of the traces(I don't care I don't see them in my setup but they look nice nonetheless)
-Consistent updates

Cons: Motherboard will not boot into BIOS. Spent a weekend checking all other components (PSU, GPU, CPU, RAM, HDD, etc...). Finally bought a MSI MB and used the same components. It booted right up.

Other Thoughts: This is my second Gigabyte motherboard and everything went as smoothly as the first one. I don't play with any overclocking features, so this is an out-of-the-box review.

All the components installed easily on the motherboard and were working properly right from the beginning. The only minor hiccup is that the graphics card in the PCIex16 slot covers up the onboard SATA ports - a byproduct of the board probably being a little smaller than the standard ATX size. If you plug in your SATA components before the graphics card, then it isn't an issue.

The CD had the latest version of all the drivers, but it unfortunately mixed drivers with bloatware as part of the installation process. You need to look at each item independently to know whether it should be installed or not. For example, the Creative SB X-FI utilities are strictly optional software and have nothing to do with the audio drivers. The Ethernet controller driver, unfortunately, was only installed under its bloatware component.

Pros: I've had this motherboard almost 6 months. It has been used daily and performed well with all games. I wasn't looking for an extensive setup (just one hard-drive, one GPU, air-cooled) so I didn't need the extras some higher end mother-boards have. I did get a decent GPU and an i7 Haswell which has a significant impact on gaming (i5 probably would have been just as good).

Setup was straightforward. The manual was clear and accurate, and bios easy to configure.

Pros: I really liked it and I would recommend it to any one is willing to spend enough money to get dual gpus(don't get 3) and have great upgradability.

Cons: none it just didn't surprise me give me big smile to give 5 stars

Pros: Good layout and features for the price

Cons: Board is unstable and now basically an expensive paper weight. After replacing all components in the system for testing (GPU, RAM, Power supply, AND CPU) and disabling sound the board will still randomly lock up and then will not post. Only fix for this is to leave it sit for a few hours and try again later. After weeks of working with tech support and sending the board for RMA and it is still the same issue. (Gigabyte RMA report says no trouble found) I can run the board for several hours without issue at times and I admit the problem is very random so unless they ran the board for at least 8 hours straight they were not going to find anything). Not sure how support/RMA teams can still claim the board is fine after having me perform weeks of testing with ALL other hardware has been replaced with known good hardware yield the same result as long as this board was in the mix.

Other Thoughts: I have built countless machines for myself and friends/co-workers with Gigabyte boards and it is really disappointing to have had this horrible of an experience with this board. I need boards that work correctly and if there is a problem a support/rma team that will look at the testing and realize this board needs to be replaced regardless of the fact that it worked for 5 minutes on the rma teams test bench. One board has switched me from an "always use Gigabyte" to an "anyone but Gigabyte" system builder which is a shame.
