4 out of 5 eggsOK

Pros: Decent motherboard for the price

Cons: Sata connectors somewhat flimsy. Sata cables not secured firmly when connected.
USB ports not powerful enough to power certain usb devices. My old Intel motherborad was doing better to provide power, but with this motherboard I need to use shorter cables to make them work.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Great board for the price ($99 when I bought it). I can't say much except that it works as advertised. I've had no problems with it so far.

Cons: The rear IO panel feels extremely cheap. It has sloped metal tabs on the left and right of each of the bigger ports (HDMI and USB for example, but not the smaller audio ports) that are probably supposed to help you plug things in just in case you miss a little bit, but I find them to be ugly and gives the panel a weird spiky look. However, this is only the rear IO panel, which no one really looks at anyway.

Other Thoughts: The width was smaller than expected. It only used about 2/3 of the screws for an ATX board in my NZXT Phantom 410. As such, it looks really compact in my case, but it's not a big deal for me.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome

Pros: better than my Asus Maximus IV Extreme $300+ motherboard

OCed to 4.5ghz and 4.7ghz automatically no problem. 4.7Ghz wanted 1.4 but 4.5 wants 1.3. It did it by itself : )

There's also other performance settings in bios that does it by itself which I like. Like memory performance enhance and 3DMark01 boost which obviously makes other stuff faster not just that software.

Cons: Base audio and LAN but I'm using a Creative ZxR and Qualcomm 2100 Network card.

Other Thoughts: I have a 690 GTX and I was using the NF200 and at times the PCIE 2.0 of the P67 2600k/3770K

I had that board for a while but then I moved to this. The stuttering in Dota 2 in certain areas is completely gone!!

Also the SATA 6gb Intel ports are great. I had only 2 in 6gbps so I used it for RAID-0 for my gaming HD but for my OS I had to use Marvel and it was slower. Now everything is faster.

I went from 3770k to 4690K and games run smoother.

All I did was change motherboard and processor. My HDs are all SSD.

3 out of 5 eggsLow Quality SATA Pins

Pros: It's a decent motherboard for the price. It has many features on it you would normally find in higher-end motherboards for a higher price.

Used it for a new build i put together and it's doing well so far with my other components installed. We will see down the line how long it lasts.

Cons: The only problem i have with it is how fragile the 6 SATA pin connectors are.Either they used low quality pins to secure the housing,or poor quality control and design was implemented here.

Can't believe how easily they come loose and break when connecting other stuff to it.

4 out of 5 eggsNot Bad

Pros: Cheap
Great features

Cons: some what small ( was a bit small in my NZXT H440)

Other Thoughts: it seems to do minor overclocking (CPU, RAM)
It is not aesthetically pleasing
Cheap Rear I/O ( OK for the price)

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid...

Pros: Rock Solid stability.. Not overclocking yet but haven't had one issue with this board. Very stable, ultra fast. Installed with XP.. some drivers do not work in XP, but overall its working well.

Windows XP-sp3 boots in under 10 seconds with sata HD.

Budget Gaming Build:

Intel I5 4690S Processor (65 watt version)
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600 mhz Ram
Coolermaster TPC 612 CPU Cooler
ASUS GTX750TI-OC-2GD5 Video Card
EVGA 100-W1-500-KR 500W ATX Power supply
Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB Hard drive

Prime 95 torture test with this build:
CPU cores stay under 62C

3DMark06 test on video:
GPU core stays under 63C

Cons: Have to enable Intel Extreme memory profile in bios before it will recognize proper ram speed. Minor issues with fast boot in UEFI, couldn't get back into the bios in Fast boot mode, had to reset. Have to manually set the CPU FAN speed, to get best results in prime95.

Intel doesn't fully support haswell in XP, but I knew that before I purchased. Tired of windoze anyway.

Manual update INF files with Intel INF_9.4.0.1027

XP DRIVERS THAT WONT WORK (in case you want to know)

Intel Haswell HD graphics
SM bus controller
does not properly identify the USB controller in XP, but all USB ports still work as 2.0.

Other Thoughts: Its been a while since I built a new PC, but this is so fast I don't know why I even need an SSD for it. It just chews threw every computing task I throw at it, and doesn't break a sweat.

3 out of 5 eggsgreat but sad

Pros: works great nothing wrong with the motherboard itself

Cons: did not support my Corsair pro 2400 ddr3 when i try to change it from 1333 ddr3 it does not support my product
So i guess im stuck with 1333... even though it said OC 2400 this was one of the only boards in my price range with the OC option and will not work

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Entry Board

Pros: Simple Layout, Extremely Fast Post, 3 BIOS Views, Front Audio Header is at the the far bottom left of the board as opposed to some boards that have it near the PCIe slots. NO issues, everything worked as intended. Cheap for z97 board.

Cons: The only con that this board would have, and mind you this VERY minor, is that two of the three fan headers are located right above the PCIe 1x slot. I kinda wish that only one was located here and then they move the second one closer to the front of the board. This will help avoid having a fan cable draped across your graphics card or hanging down from the top if you have fans and/or 240mm radiator coupled with this board. Since the case I used (Corsair 200R) only had one fan on the rear, and one fan the front, this really wasn't much of an issue, but for others this might be.

Other Thoughts: All in all I am very pleased with this board. A couple of things I would like to point out though is that first this board adheres to ATX form factor, it is just 7.5'' in width as opposed to your typical ATX width. All the mounting holes are the same. I personally liked how compact it felt, all the while providing a good amount of upgrade options. My client was very pleased with this build.

Another thing is that this board DOES NOT SUPPORT SLI for nvidia cards. It is however, ready for crossfire for AMD cards. The secondary PCIe slot only runs 4x.

The BIOS was very nice I thought the layout was fairly decent; I liked how the 3 different views gave you a choice to set you options. I personally liked the classic which is your basic view, albeit with mouse support still and a simple GUI at the top. The ST mode was a little more enthusiast oriented where it had CPU/Memory information on the left and system status on the right. All the settings can be changed as well as a resolution toggle that I thought was pretty neat; I could either view in 1280x720 or 1920x1080. I kinda wish my 2 other z77 boards had something like that since those don't take fill the screen. The default BIOS screen is interesting. It is a Metro style view, where it lists all the most frequently changed settings. I personally didn't care for it as much; I set my default view to classic.

The other interesting thing that I notice was that when you have this paired with a locked CPU (Non-K SKUs) the options for changing core multipliers still let me change the values however they did not save regardless if you press F10. I thought this was kinda odd, wish they would have just grayed out all the options pertaining to OC. Some options, however, looked like you could change them but when you tried click on them they would not budge. No biggie but I thought it was kinda odd.

Driver disc was a typical installation disc, just choose the main drivers individually. One of the drivers required a windows update; Its included on the disc as well as .Net Framework 4.5

The build turned out crazy fast for a really good price. I was jealous of their system. I think anyone wanting a good z97 board but doesn't want to pay a whole lot should look at this board. By adding an SSD in the future, I don't see this computer getting replaced anytime soon! It's wicked fast ! My clients build came in under $600 with rebates/promos. Hopes this helps ! :)

3 out of 5 eggsmirco atx

Pros: Arrived in a sealed anti static bag.
Three fan ports.
xmp memory functions properly, at least with my sticks

Cons: micro atx
Cpu pin push holes, to close to the back plate.
I would have never ordered this board had I known it was a micro atx. The listing is misleading.
crapware driver disk, accidental did express install, chrome, norton av. After reformat, windows wouldn't accept my key, offline. @bios just locks up, faults out to lost connection to server.

Other Thoughts: The app center is just awful.. Maybe they will update it and add some real function to it. Just seems like its incomplete .
Remote bios control is just creepy. Guess remote access is sign of the times
Lastly at least the board doesn't have the all seeing eye stamped on it
