Pros: Great budget bang for buck board. Got this board for a friend's upgrade and it does exactly as stated with some nice software extras and decent on-board sound/connections for the price. Nice black/brown theme to give it a sleeker look. The LED audio lighting is a nice touch if you like orange :)

Cons: The board's width is surprisingly narrow so be careful with aftermarket coolers interfering with your DIMM/RAM slots

Other Thoughts: A Cooler Master T4 CPU cooler gives enough space for RAM with heat-sinks which is nice.
The board I got was a Rev 2.1 not a Rev 2.0.

Cons: first ga z97 lasted 11 months, ordered this to replace it without messing up my oem windows install and it came DOA what a surprise. If you do order this do not get next day shipping

Pros: - There are tons of USB ports to use, one for just about everything that I have. Since we tend to have a single storage/multipurpose computer for everyone to use, this MOBO answered all the requirements and then some.
- USB 3.0 supported is a must at this point. Make sure if you get a new case that it comes with the USB 3.0 plug (i.e. the 19 pin).

Cons: - I did not like where the PIC E slot were located it really was not a deal breaker. I would have liked to have more space between the CPU cooler and the video card. And yes I know there is a second PCI-E slot but when the video card prevents using the SATA connectors this is why I made this con.
- I also would have preferred to have the SATA connectors facing to the side of the MOBO, not a deal breaker. I believe that next time I will be on the lookout for a different design layout.

Other Thoughts: For the budget, this MOBO is ideal. The Con’s were not terrible so I will not take an egg away for them.

I used this MOBO as a fix to the family/wife’s computer the old one finally died after 8 years of abuse. Paired it with: Intel 4590 and 16 GB of 1866 RAM.

Pros: love the layout of the board
gigabyte has in my opinion the best bios/uefi
everything does its job the way its supposed to "except easytune"

Cons: they sent rev 2.1 instead of 2.0
easy tune will not work "i had to get msi afterburner"

Other Thoughts: make sure you check the size of the mother board cut out in your case because this does not cover the whole thing in a mastercase 5 due to being so thin

Other Thoughts: Today I received a GA-Z97-HD3 motherboard and new pentium G3258 processor. Newegg sales order 303137478. This was to replace a 5yr old Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R motherboard that the cpu temperature sensor had died on.

This is the first time in building over 20 systems over 14 years that I had a system would not boot into the bios screen.

When I powered the system up as POST instead of a beep I got a continuous beep with the power shutting down . I did see the keyboard lights flash on power up. The light bar on the back of the motherboard lights after about 4 seconds. The system continues to beep and shuts down at 14 seconds. The system will then continue to power cycle. The beeping is quite rapid – ie approximately 3 beeps per second.

What I have done to trouble shoot the system:

1. Swapped power supply - no change

2. Double checked CPU to make sure it was properly seated and aligned - no change

3. Swapped ram with known good ram off the old GA-X58A- - no change

4. Changed new RAM position between 1&3 and 2&4 - no change

5. Removed graphics card and used on board graphics. - no change

6. Unplugged CD/DVD drive power and signal cable - no change

7. Unplugged disk drive power and signal cables - no change

8. Checked +5 & +12volt levels they were 5.09 and 12.26

9.Checked F_Panel – all correct


What can I do to confirm what the problem is? There is no explanation of a beep error code. This is extremely frustrating as it is my wife’s computer and my life is not very pleasant right now because of it.

Pros: Everything working except sound. For those not doing a 'hack build, solid board with everything (inc sound) working. Thin enough to easily fit in cramped cases such as the Cosmos SE with room to spare. SATA ports pointing 'out' allowing for even more cramped environments.

Cons: As stated, sound for the 'hack. USB speakers covered that.

Other Thoughts: Seems to be a good board for me.

Pros: I paid around $200 for this board. This was the first board I have ever bought, and I was deciding between a Gigabyte and MSI board. Ultimately I chose the gigabyte board because there was a rebate on it. I am glad I chose this board because of the ease in which it installed into my case, and how well all the other components fit. I ended up also using a Gigabyte radeon 380 graphics card and everything runs so smoothly together. There is plenty of system fan plugs so i'll never need to worry about cooling. The overall layout of the board works really well for cable management, keeping my case clean looking and allowing my lights to shine on the important components showing off my build. This was the first computer I ever built for my self and I have to say, I will definitely use more gigabyte products in the future.

Cons: I have no real cons for the board itself, the only thing I personally didn't like was one of the software programs that was included changed the start menu back to a windows 8 look. simply uninstalled and Poof! everything back to how I like it.

Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend this board to anyone looking for an affordable board, that still packs a punch. I will, as I stated above, buy more gigabyte products in the

Pros: Clean start up with no delay, no collision with hardware, even with bigger pieces! (liquid cooling, graphic cards, etc.), smooth connections, very pretty style

Cons: -Randomly my PC notifies me an audio device was plugged in, then immediately unplugged. This wouldn't be a big deal, but it makes a loud notification noise, volume goes silent for a few seconds, and when I'm playing Borderlands 2 it completely freezes and I have to restart the computer to fix it, can't even Alt+Tab out. It's rather annoying. I'm assuming this is due to something faulty in the Realtek audio chip, although there is a slim chance it is an issue with the case header plugs.
