5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Used this board with a Xigmatek Nebula C. Board functioned as advertised. Much better bios set up than the Gigabyte's of the past. For this case, the connections on the board were well placed. i5-4690. WiFi and Bluetooth work well. With SSD drive boot to desktop in seconds. Win 7.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: Requires a 4 pin CPU plug. Using the 4600 GPU on the chip via HDMI out. Lite games, home unit.

5 out of 5 eggsSatisfied....

Pros: I bought this board over the cheaper ASRock ITX board that I originally wanted simply because of the position of the wireless card on the motherboard. I'm very happy with it so far.. albeit I've only been using the board for 3 days at this point.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I used this board in an htpc build in a Thermaltake core v1 case.
i3 4160 cpu
Corsair H55 water cooler
4gb G.skill 1.35v ram
Sandisk 120gb SSD
WD 2tb green drive
evga 430w power supply

Thats a bit overkill for its purpose but I installed openelec and its snappy has heck.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Layout 1150 WIFI-BT Mini ITX Board

Pros: I got this board over the similar ASRock and MSI models because the layout seemed 'simpler' to work with as the connections are all around the edges of the case, *and* because the mini PCI Wifi-BT module is preinstalled.

WiFi reception is excellent and BT works as expected.

Bios is simple to underestand. Currently using this with a G3258 OC'd. Would buy this again.

Cons: Comes with a couple of DVDs rammed with drivers and other utilities that are of marginal value if that.

Other Thoughts: Good board with strong features - it was good for a first time mini-ITX builder.

1 out of 5 eggsGigabyte needs better testing or quality control methods

Pros: None

Cons: Price, reliability, and quality control. This is the second and last motherboard I've bought from them and they've been nothing but problems. The first one (h87wifi) had post problems and this one has usb and PCI express slot problems.

Other Thoughts: They're good about their repairs which they should be for the price they're charging for their mobo. It sucks hooking everything up just to have to take it all back out because you bought a faulty mobo. Their boxes say Durable all over them but don't be fooled by their cover. I've had good luck with Gigabyte mobo in the past but I guess things change go with Asus or MSI you'll be happier.

5 out of 5 eggsStill working great

Pros: Mini-ITX, full featured, stable

Cons: Zero so far*

Other Thoughts: I put this machine together back in the beginning of last September (2014). Maybe twice I've had to flip the power switch on the PS off to completely power drain the system because it went into some sort of weird pre-Windows reboot cycle. Other than that...flawless.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for PfSense

Pros: This a great board for PfSense. Installed in a SilverStone MLO5 case with SilverStone SST-ST30SF PSU, 4GB ram, 64GB SSD, Intel G1820 Celeron processor.

Uses 2% of CPU at the most and runs at 27.8C with 3% of disk usages and currently using 13% of the memory. I can upgrade to more ram if necessary, but it is unlikely that will be necessary. I have several packages installed.

It runs 24/7 as my router and firewall without a single problem to date.

Cons: One downside is that it uses FreeBSD 10.1 as the OS and it does not support the Atheros AR8161 NIC. I had to add a Intel NIC for the second NIC. It will be supported in the upcoming 11.0 version of FreeBSD with the alc(4) driver.

The other downsize is the intel 7260HMW WI-FI card is not supported in FreeBSD. This was not a problem for me as I have a dedicated access point.

Other Thoughts: This runs so cool that I have not seen or heard the fan in the power supply run.

2 out of 5 eggsInsufficient power to video?

Pros: Nicely compact board, onboard wifi, LGA 1150 ITX architecture

Cons: I seem to be experiencing the same problem one of the other owners had. After a few months of ownership, I am getting flickering of video output (AMD Display Driver Recovered). It seems to be something wrong w/ the power output in the PCI-Express slot to the video card. I tried it with another video card and it is also happening. I also reinstalled windows, tried different versions of the AMD Catalyst Drivers (yes, I know their history from years ago). It cannot be the drivers. I also previously used the exact same 700 watt psu, video card in my previous asus full-tax motherboard build and never had an issue. I wanted to downgrade to a mini-ITX design to clear up space in my work area and get rid of a bulky full ATX design. Maybe a mistake in retrospect.

5 out of 5 eggsJust What I wanted

Pros: AC WIFI

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This just may be the perfect gaming WIFI mini-ITX board, and I don't care that it's not the gaming version. Roll with a Xeon E3 and be done with it.

Xeon E3 1231 v3 3.4GHz
16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM 1600
Gigabyte GA-H97N-WIFI MB
240GB PNY Optima SSD
GIGABYTE GV-N970IXOC-4GD GPU
Corsair CS450M 450W 80-PLus Gold PSU
DIYPC HTPC-Cube Mini-ITX case

2 out of 5 eggsWorked good for 3 months.

Pros: Worked good while it worked.

Cons: Broke after 3 months.

Other Thoughts: Sent in a RMA to gigabyte, will follow up if they fix it.

4 out of 5 eggsUSB 3 panel pins too delicate

Pros: Lots of features, good price.

Cons: Finishing the setup of my new PC, I just had one thing left to do: plug in the chassis front panel USB 3.0 cable. I centered it carefully over the pins, pushed it down gently but firmly... and met hard resistance. Pulled the connector back out and not one, but two pins were bent. I was able to get one of them to mostly stand back up, but the other snapped off, despite all of my delicate maneuvering.

I guess it's my fault, and maybe I could've been even more careful, but it's not like this was my first rodeo. Ultimately, having my front panel ports be 2.0 and not 3.0 is a minor inconvenience; too minor to justify tearing down the machine I just put together in order to send the mobo off for repair. C'est la vie.
