5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is a great motherboard. The built in WiFi works wonderfully, and the antenna has great reception. The board itself feels very durable, and all the PC components installed without a fuss. All of the connectors are well positioned in my opinion.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: FYI the antenna has a nifty little magnetic base and it folds flat for storage.

4 out of 5 eggsNot a bad build

Pros: Used to build an OS X box. Worked fairly well oob. Just had to replace the intel wifi card.

Good color scheme.

Has enough connections for robust mITX build

Cons: HDMI power output seems to be lacking. It works with 3-6ft length hdmi cables but not on 25ft cable. Tried multiple verified working hdmi 25ft cables on this mobo hdmi output and no luck. Not a major downside but took away an egg rating bc this messes up my overall form factor for placement of this build in a room. This is a 2014 build and it doesn't support that distance!?

5 out of 5 eggsThe Little Motherboard That Could

Pros: - It works.
- Not exorbitantly priced.
- Built-in wifi adapter has optional external antenna hookup.
- Pleasant color scheme.
- Orange-colored LEDs line the underside of the board. They can pulse (or remain lit solid), have adjustable brightness (100% or 50%), or be turned off entirely.

Cons: - Only two fan headers (one CPU fan header and one system fan header).

Other Thoughts: - Fan headers, where art thou? For a CLC which consumes both the CPU header and a system fan header (the Corsair H60, for instance), consider buying a splitter, or even a fan controller. Really not a big deal, but it would have been nice to have one extra system fan header.

- The wifi adapter functions without an external antenna. The board comes bundled with a fairly high quality external antenna with a magnetic base, which is a nice gesture for those who need the extra range.

- My life is bland enough, so it's nice to find a motherboard that has a little color on it (other than blue, or black, or whatever shade of brown ASUS is feeling like this month).

- The LEDs are only on the bottom of the motherboard, which creates a subtle underglow effect. My build was in a Corsair 250D, and the LEDs shine through the mesh siding; I disabled them in the BIOS.

- Drivers: Put the included disc in the drive, install the network adapter driver, remove the disc from the drive, then remove that optical drive from your crowded mITX case and download the rest of the drivers from Gigabyte's website.

- Purchased/shipped from NewEgg. Box wasn't crushed. Even if it was, that's probably because the delivery guy sat on it, which isn't NewEgg's fault.

I took a little bit to think about more cons, but nothing came to mind.

This board is solid, and has given me no trouble; at least in the week or so after building. Nice job to the folks at Gigabyte.

5 out of 5 eggsPulse lights

Pros: Speaking to the pulse lighting, I went online to see if they had a switch and sure enough on Gygabyte's website there's a setting for (Always On, Off, and Pulse)
Had me worried, glad it was there.

Cons: I don't have it yet.

4 out of 5 eggsNice board

Pros: Nice layout and great bios.

Cons: Wish it had more fan connectors.

Other Thoughts: To get around the fan connectors I bought a fan controller.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Hackintosh

Pros: Works OOB for Haswell Hackintosh. Using I5-4570s with Zotac GT640 Silent Graphics Card and Rosewill RCX-Z300 CPU Cooler. Really zippy and quiet. Bonus is the fact you can install the OS on an MSATA SSD. Also the included Mini PCI WiFi card has OSX compatible WiFi and Bluetooth built-in with a couple of kext mods.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: I had the Z87N-WiFi before this and had problems with the dual ethernet. This only has one so works better with OSX.

5 out of 5 eggsIt amazes me how something as simple as a Backlit Motherboard eludes most Reviews

Pros: this board is an absolute dream builders board, it has a great layout, easy on the hands and is a first boot and quick boot no issues all around performer, really if you are reading this Review, STOP RIGHT NOW and just buy the board , you won't regret it

Cons: in this day and age when a builder is planning a build that is to be noticed something as simple as stating that the motherboard is lit via LEDS, one would think it should be mentioned in the specs and or component listings, NOT A BAD THING , but if it were mentioned before i would of found another board for this build, its a shame really cause its in a case that doesn't do it justice

4 out of 5 eggsNo RAID Support

Pros: The board is nice looking and the ports are located in good spots for my Cooler Master elite 130 case. The WiFi works great; and the antenna has a magnetic base that sticks to the case. The Bios is easy to use and has a lot of features. The board is responsive when trying to enter bios or boot menu. The fast boot option allows you to decide which hw drivers to load at the bios level prior to the os boot. This allows the boot process to be speed up significantly.

Cons: 1. No hardware raid support, you also have no pci-e 1x expansion port to use a raid controller card. You could use the pci-e 16x slot but you have to give up your discrete graphics card. It dose have a mini pci-e card slot but it is used for the WiFi card.
2. No 3 pin fan headers for your water cooler pump. you have to use a molex to 3 pin fan adapter to power a water cooler pump.

Other Thoughts: The description doesn't say it has raid comparability but is is so standard on boards now and i see it on so many descriptions i just over looked the fact that this board doesn't have this capability. The board's manual dose indicate that there is a raid option on the sata controller but it is not currently available. This makes me hope that it will be added in a future bios update.
