1 out of 5 eggsNo undervolting on A10-7870K

Pros: Runs with Gskill 2400Mhz Ram out of the box.

Cons: This Mainboard became useless to me once I entered the BIOS and realized that you CAN NOT undervolt the CPU, which in my case is the A10-7870K. You can ONLY increase voltage but you cant subtract it. I'm running the latest BIOS and still have that problem.
After a little research I found on overclocked.net that there are users that reported the same problem.
Gigabyte response was just rude, " This motherboard does not support undervolting."
No explanation, nothing. I have been using Gigabyte for 5 years and build about 8 Computers but this was the last Gigabyte Mainboard.
Just FYI Gigabyte: Asus, MSI and Asrock boards support undervolting.

Other Thoughts: If you plan on building an efficient APU-computer please go to a different Board partner that underfstands customer need and responses sometimes with custom BIOS.

Seriously, my running at a ridiculous CPUcore voltage of 1.55V and there is NO WAY to change it down.
My Cryorig H7 is at 45 C @ idle !!
I tested the cpu cooler on my FX-8320 @4.2 Ghz and max temp was 52 C
This board deserves zero eggs for the non existing customer support!

How can you sell someone a Sportscar without brakes?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat basic board

Pros: Paired with an A8-7600 Kaveri APU and 8GB of Mushkin 2133MHz DDR3. Booted first time, and system works great! Onboard audio works well, and it's nice to have a DVI port onboard which many other boards don't seem to have. TIP: If using 1.65volt 2133MHz DDR3 you need to set DRAM voltage manually as voltage from XMP memory profile doesn't get automatically applied, just memory timings. Was noticing screen corruption on the 'Aero' desktop until I corrected memory voltage problem, even though memory passed memtest86+ at only 1.5volts!

Cons: None at this price.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent board

Pros: This is a basic motherboard but for what it offers and the price point I can't gripe (I bought it open box for $38.14 at the time). As other reviews have said the motherboard does not offer usb 3.0 but that's not a huge deal since you can buy an internal pci card with 3.0 slots. I found the bios easy to configure and the motherboard recognized all of my hardware with no problem. I am very happy with my purchase.

Cons: none so far.

Other Thoughts: The only thing to be aware of when buying open box (and they do warn you) is that the motherboard didn't come with a sata cable or disc for the motherboard. The sata cable was 3 dollars and I can download drivers so no big deal (especially since I paid so little for it).

4 out of 5 eggsLow clearance board

Pros: Great low clearance board for limited space applications, anyone who complains that this board doesn't have this or it should have come with this needs to learn to read the specs.

Cons: None. If you want more options, then look at something bigger.

4 out of 5 eggsUpdate of my 12/11/2014 review

Pros: Inexpensive, socket FM2, giga LAN. Posts and Boots OS quickly. Built in fan speed control. Allows a choice of bypassing UEFI completely for other than Win7 64bit and Win8/8.1.

Cons: The manual is still awful. Same as previous review. Very unclear. Took an egg off for this.

Other Thoughts: I must apologize to Gigabyte for my comments about slow posting. It turned out the problem was the memory, not this MB. This MB posts extremely quickly even if not in ultra fast mode. Running 32 bit Windows 7 so have set the MB up for legacy BIOS only - not UEFI. I do like the UEFI interface and if I had a copy of WIN7 64bit, I certainly would have used it!

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Mobo

Pros: Ease of install, no BIOS update needed. Worked flawlessly with Windows 8.1 x64, AMD A10-6800, 8GB RAM, PNY 120GB SSD as the system drive.

Cons: I didn't realize when I purchase the Shell Shocker deal that the Mobo didn't have USB 3.0 I/O. The Shell Shocker deal came with a case that had two USB 3.0 I/O connectors on the front panel and the new USB 3.0 cable. No place on the mobo to plug that in. My mistake for not looking closer at the compatibility of the Shell Shocker components

Other Thoughts: Would like to suggest that Newegg folks who put the ShellShocker deals together to carefully show what is not included and what may not be compatible as well as what extra pieces one should pick up to completely use all of the various parts and pieces together.

3 out of 5 eggsA small hiccup, but working since

Pros: Since I've gotten the board working with a Richland core A10-6800k, the board has been fine. An easy BIOS to navigate and the motherboard drivers work well. Using the APU as the graphics chip as well with no dedicated GPU and the system runs all the games I've thrown at just fine.

Cons: I first installed the Windows Vista on the machine since I only had an upgrade copy of Windows 7. After the initial installation (which went off without a hitch), the motherboard failed to post and beeped twice (with about a 3 second delay between). It continued to do so, even after a bunch of trouble shooting (testing the RAM and other RAM sticks to no avail, clearing the CMOS). I did a bit of research (Gigabyte does not have the best support for motherboard beep codes, unfortunately) and found that it might be a motherboard CMOS battery problem. I took out the battery and put it back in and voila, the machine worked again. That is -1 egg for inconvenience.

-1 more egg because setting the dedicated RAM for the APU graphics is a bit annoying to find, and then once you find it, it gives you limited options. I would have preferred to have an option where I can set it to an exact amount of my choosing.

4 out of 5 eggs2nd Mobo Purchase

Pros: Good motherboard. Purchased A8 Quad core for it. Son plays Tomb Raider, LFD2 on it.
Very satisfied with the motherboard series (purchased the HD2 ver in April)

Cons: Rebate system is LACKING. Went to website, printed form that was linked here on Newegg. NO ADDRESS for mailing in the Mail-In-Rebate. Even the email that the rebate center sent had no address.

3 out of 5 eggsSLOW Motherboard

Pros: Inexpensive, socket FM2, giga LAN. Boots OS quickly once you get through the POST process. Built in fan speed control. Allows a choice of bypassing EUFI completely for other than Win7 64bit and Win8/8.1.

Cons: Very poor operation explanation in the manual especially as it relates to the built in video. I had no video connected to the sub-D the first time I tried to start the MB so shut it down and installed a separate graphics card. Consistently takes at least 2-1/2 minutes to POST. During that time there is no video output (using an independent graphics card). This is with "fast boot" enabled in BIOS but not "ultrafast boot". This is unacceptable. The POST issue has caused me not to try but built in video since there is nothing in the manual to say which video output is the default - sub-D, DVI, HDMI.

Other Thoughts: Running 32 bit Windows 7 so have set the MB up for legacy BIOS only - not EUFI. I tried to use GigaByte MBs years ago and went to another mfr because of this same long POST time problem. However, my previous mfr is no longer in business, so thought I would try GigaByte again. I guess they have not learned.

4 out of 5 eggsNice MoBo

Pros: Really impressed with FM2. Running SteamOS on it and it runs really good without a video card. The AMI UEFI firmware is awesome. Ya it's got the pretty stuff. But the way it handles booting... well I wish my Asus Sabertooth handled booting config this way.

Cons: Wish it had a mini-PCIe for WiFi.
