Pros: This MB came right up and worked just like the manual says it should. I’ve only had it 3 weeks. I usually wait longer to write a reviews, but the community should know something about this board (see comment below). I stress tested this board for 5 days. If it’s going to have a problem, let’s have it now. No problem.

Cons: Gigabyte customer support is VERY slow (see comment below). I won’t deduct an egg. Customer support is slow everywhere. At least Gigabyte was there when I needed them, and they were very helpful.

Other Thoughts: BEWARE!!! The spec at Newegg says you get 8 SATA ports and 2 M.2 slots. The manually clearly says you don’t get to use them all at once.

READ THE MANUAL! Download it before you buy. I did, and I kind’a read the it; but there’s a big table speaking to the SATA ports that I thought was about RAID modes. I’m not using RAID on this machine so I skipped the table. My bad. The table includes an exclusion list describing what happens when you use an M.2 SSD. I have a very fast SAMSUNG 950 PRO M.2 SSD installed. I put it in what appears to be the 1st M.2 port. The manual clearly says that if you use a very fast M.2 like my SAMSUNG in the 1st slot it will turn OFF 6 of the 8 SATA ports. Note, this behavior is not described in the specification listed by Newegg. Whereas it took me awhile to have Gigabyte tell me about this behavior and during that period, I was real mad. I’m not deducting an egg because the manual clearly says using M.2 slot 1 will turn off all of SATA ports on the main Intel storage controller, 6 ports. Further, The manual says all you have to do is move a single stick to slot 2 to get those ports back. All is good for me. Have fun. Now that I have read the manual, and I am using the board correctly, I love it.

Pros: Running 2 months now, not one issue! AWESOME Features. Everything and i mean everything went perfect. my 3rd build! Buy this board when it goes on sale. Voltages are rock steady! This board should be in the running for best in class.

Cons: $$$$ but worth it if you can find it on sale. Have not figured how to cut power to ALL usb ports when in power off state.

Pros: - Lot's of feature.
- Good quality board

Cons: - White plastic a bit to big for my Corsair H110i GTX 280mm cooler.
- Wish it got 2-4 more SATA port.
- BIOS UEFI is not as nice as the other high end motherboard like ASUS, but do the job.
- XMP Profile do not seem to be supported properly, got issue like many others.
- CPU Alignement in the socket is not perfect, really easy to bent cpu pin. (Seem to be a major design issue for Skylake cpu)
- Expensive.

Other Thoughts: Note that the G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600 is not compatible out of the box, lot's of tuning is needed.

Mix with the i7 6700k, the intel graphics 530 was really unstable, lot's of flicker and blackout. Was almost going to do a RMA on the motherboard, but found the solution.

Tips: Set the timing manually in the BIOS AND set the VCCSA AND VCCIO. with my GA-Z170X I got unstable HDMI output from the i7 6700k internal Intel Graphics 530.

Using: (and now stable)

Timing: 16-18-18-38 2T
Multiplier: 32
DRAM Voltage: suppose to set 1.35v but the mother only allow 1.34 or 1.365v (using 1.365v)
VCCSA: 1.125v
VCCIO: 1.050v and now everything is stable and running smoothly.

Pros: Kind of cool looking, leds are okay.

Cons: This mobo worked only for a couple weeks, i tweeked it and thought I was in the clear but boy was I wrong. The app center software didnt work as it is suppsed to, it wouldnt oc the ram to the speed it was supposed to be at, then on startup my keyboard was unavailable so i could not go into the bios to fix it. Im gonna be sticking with MSI boards from now on

Pros: Excellent features. Dual M2, onboard Sound Core3D, Intel LAN, USB 3.1 w/ Thunderbolt.

Cons: Throttles 6700K. I tried 2 6700K chips. Will not even OC to 4.2GHz. Under stress, the chip will cut down to 4.0GHz. According to HWinfo64, the board is tripping the ICCmax value, meaning the CPU is drawing more than the specified 100A of current. There is no way that the 6700K at stock voltage, set to run at the Intel Turbo frequency, is drawing current out of spec. With all cores running under 70C on an H110i GT, it is not thermal throttling.

Even setting the UEFI value of "Core Current Limit (Amps)" to its maximum value of 255 does not stop the throttling. Attemps to reduce Vcore to lower current draw show no effect according to HWinfo64. The board just ignores the settings and cranks the voltage anyway. This happens with the latest official F5 and the beta F6d.

Disabling Speedstep and all C states has no effect. Every attempt to lock the multiplier at 42 fails, and the board throttles the CPU down to 4.0GHz under stress.

The ONLY thing that prevented throttling was reducing the Uncore speed. This reduced the current draw enough to prevent throttling. For an aggressive overclock, that would make sense. It should not even be a factor to get the chip to run at 4.2GHz.

Other Thoughts: It may boot at great settings and make you think you have a good overclock but when the CPU actually has to work, it will throttle down. I don't care what speed my CPU is at idle, I care what speed it can do under stress.

I want to rate this board higher, and I want the board to read the current draw correctly, and I want it to actually take the UEFI settings I enter. That's not the case. I hate the hassle of returns but I have exhausted every avenue available to me to get this board to work correctly, and it is not.

Pros: Not as plug and play friendly as they advertise but with a little tinkering you can be up and going in a few hours.

Cons: Requires a moderate level of technical skill to get running correctly.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend to my buddies so long as they are willing to tinker.

Pros: The colors of the board do not interest me...but getting a reliable board is paramount!

Cons: did an external bench test of this board with a Skylake 6700K CPU...attached fan and memory...pressed the inte3rnal power button. The Motherboard began to go through its paces but stopped before POST. #32 was the (DeBug) Error Code = CPU PEI initialization. I then re-seated the CPU making sure all contacts were fine and no bent pins...installed CPU fan and power supply Seasonic 600 watts...and pressed internal power button...same result. I am sending the board back to NewEgg today for a refund.
