5 out of 5 eggsIt Just Works

Pros: I love this thing. It just works. I wish all of my motherboard experiences were this smooth. Everything is accessible and clearly labeled in decent short-hand. The stock settings ROCK HARD for XT, 2000, Server 2003, and JaS 10.4.8 straight out of the box. The BIOS will let you decently overclock, but out of the box, this motherboard is a slick little monster. It was my first home-build mobo. I bought it with an msi MBOX case. I was terrified putting it together, but all cables and mounting points are marked perfectly on the headers. It went together so quickly that I assumed something MUST be wrong with it. Nothing is wrong with it. It processes anything I throw at it easily, and kicks back at me terribly beautiful works. I am very proud of this baby. It lives on, four years later. Woo hoo! It runs JaS and any other flavor of Hack OSX86 that I've thrown at it, with low or minimal patching, solid and stable. No problems with a second monitor when I added my nVidia 7300gs card. HAPPY ME.

Cons: Should have bout TWO of 'em. Onboard Broadcom 1390 OR 1422 WiFi would have been really swell to include on the board.

Other Thoughts: Firewire would have been a nice bonus. WiFi would have been cool, too. She is right perty. She is feather-light, so I can move her between audio gigs very easily. I really thing that she is the ideal case

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: 4 SATA Connectors, PCI Express X16, Chipset Heatsinks

Cons: Position of 24 Pin power connector

Other Thoughts: This board does in fact run Mac OS X. It also handles Vista very well.

4 out of 5 eggsRuns Mac OS X

Pros: Simple to use with OS X. Complete and ready to use.

Cons: Must add Firewire ports yourself.

Other Thoughts: First one I bought, the clock went out. Egghead won't replace if you throw away the factory box. Bought a second one and it just works.

5 out of 5 eggsMy one true love

Pros: Good form factor, bios is lovely and has lots of options. I feel like I should say more good things about this. The boot screen is cool, does that count as a pro?

Cons: Can't think of any offhand.

Other Thoughts: My one true love is my wife, as for motherboards- this one takes the cake. It's just what I was looking for. Seems like it will be good for overclocking, but I don't really care, I'm content with the processor speed I have.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great and no Issues

Pros: Works with Fedora 7 and 8. No issues and stays cool.

Cons: The board seems to flex a lot, but it still works so I suppose its OK.

Other Thoughts: The built in Ethernet card drivers may need some tweaking, but I think that may be a Fedora issue not a motherboard issue.

1 out of 5 eggsBottleneck

Pros: It turned on.

Cons: I think there is a bottleneck somewhere on the motherboard. It has trouble with USB ports, FS audio ports are dead, gets horrible scores on graphics test during processor sections. Would hang on boot up when my printer was plugged into the USB ports on the motherboard. Cannot handle bluetooth mouse and keyboard. The peripherals will act sluggish and non-responsive. Overall BAD motherboard.

Other Thoughts: Never buying MSI again. Sorry for turning my back on you ASUS. I'm coming back.

1 out of 5 eggsbad RMA, made mosfet SMOKED

Pros: Took one RMA to deliver. This time i get to know what a burnt mosfet smells like.

Cons: it didnt work, no power... Later i try agian and a mosfet POP SPARKS, BURN,and then SMOKED that stink the whole room!! I hope my E6320 and G.skill Ram still alive.

Other Thoughts: I didnt believe that this MSI be that bad. now I know those other bad reviews are TURE.

5 out of 5 eggsbilly follow up

Pros: i forgot to mention that kingston hyperx pC6400 runs at 4,4,4,4,12 when you up the voltage to 1.95-2 at speeds of 667 to 800-all within spec per Kingston

Cons: see previous post

5 out of 5 eggsOC'd E2140 to 1.96 22%

Pros: I'm not bragging, just pointing out it does OC. you need to oc the PCI express to 133 to OC the CPU. (see the mannual) ram is running at 816! thats not to bad for a 200buck system rated for DDR 667. OC was really easy but limited-but hey 22% is all right
Get Kingston DDR2 800 HyperX and OC this to 800 for 10bucks more

Cons: no complaints yet. limited CPU chpoice. Always check the vendors homepage to see what memory and CPU's are compatible i run HD home movies and music mostly. it runs 80% for HD (AVCHD) format but never chokes--i can still multitask.

Other Thoughts: SYSTEM E2140, Kingston DDR2 800 HyperX (a must have for OC), sapphire X1650 running to a 37" Sharp LCD TV at 1776x1000 resolution.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: It works and it supports the Core2Duo processors. PCI Express with integrated video is a plus.

Cons: The location of the 24pin power connector is pretty much in the middle of the motherboard which hinders my wiring arrangement. Only supports a maximum of 2GB of ram.

Other Thoughts: Purchased as openbox. Used this motherboard with a PentiumD 920 w/ 2x512mb DDR2 and a Core2Duo E4500 w/ 2x1gb DDR2 with no problems.
