5 out of 5 eggsNice Board

Pros: One of the best component lay out boards I've used for system building. It made cable routing a snap with minimal obstruction to good air flow through the case. I built this as a computer upgrade for my daughter's computer so did not utilize SLI function, but bought it so I would have 2 PATA connections for existing devices. Started right up on Windows XP.

Cons: May not necessarily be a problem with the board, but after installing the CPU and stock heat sink & fan (Intel Core Dual E6750 2.66GHz), and starting up the system, it ran correctly for the first few hours with a CPU temperature averaging about 32 deg C. However, after that, CPU temperatures started rising well beyond 44 deg C with the computer idle. I found that 2 of the securing locks on the heat sink bracket failed allowing the sink to loosen up. I had to remove the board to re-install the heat sink and fan bracket properly. I closely inspected the cpu socket and found that 3 of the wire contacts were significally longer than all the others. The heat sink & fan bracket also seemed to want to rock and not fit flat on the CPU (and its bracket on the MB). If the CPU socket on the MB was 1/32 inch thinner, then the locking mechanism on the heat sink & fan bracket would lock much more securely.

Other Thoughts: Board is running great now; E6750 Core 2 duo, (2 X 1GB) A-DATA PC2 6400 memory, GeForce 512 MB 8500GT Video

5 out of 5 eggsSweet Deal!

Pros: Nice board for the price, IDE, SATA, SLI, RAID-what more could you ask for in a MB under 100 after rebates?
Nice OC features.

Cons: Really cruddy looking boot screen-why bother?

Other Thoughts: Glad I picked this board-very nice deal.
Running 2.33 dual core, 2 GB PC 3200, 1 250 SATA HD, 1 250 GB HD, 2 DVDR's.

4 out of 5 eggsNo post issue fixed

Pros: Only had this board for 2 days but so far so good. E6600 at 3.1gz on air so far and soon to be on water. Good overclocking options, nothing too complicated. Ram slides in nicely. The manual is pretty decent.

Cons: No northbridge fan for overclockers. No diagnostic lights or beeps.

Other Thoughts: Board would turn on, fans would run, but no post. Tried 3 different memory modules, 3 processors, 2 video cards with no help. Finally took out the motherboard and laid it down on antistatic fabric and everything powered on smoothly. Seems there was a metal bracket from the case touching the end of the board. If you have boot issues try this, if it starts to work check for unneeded brackets in the back of your case. Put in the motherboard and at the start use only 4 screws on each end of the board.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat MB

Pros: This Mb was good for the most part. I put in a core 2 duo with 2gb of ram and I am happy with the results. This Mb is good for a first time builder and if yowant to do work/ play low-medium games.

Cons: Th second PCI E for SLi is only 8x when running so that was the only disappointment for me with this MB.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat SLI board at a good price.

Pros: Price, SLI capability, can handle up to 8 GB RAM.

Cons: The packaged over clocking software, called MSI Dual Core Center, doesn't do much useful other than controlling fan speed and monitoring temperature.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good board

Pros: 2 IDE channels, very over-clocker friendly.

Cons: The two boards I just got, did not come with the USB bracket. That's not a big deal, but that bracket contains the diagnostic leds. That North Bridge cooler has to go if you buy this, I recommend Vantec CCB-A4C (it will fit).

Other Thoughts: I really don't like how they hide the disable C1E. That whole f4 thing.

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome!

Pros: This motherboard rocks! With a CeleronD 3.46 and 4 Gig of ram this motherboard flys. First, the 4 IDE and 4 SATA run together very nicely. The power connections are placed in decent areas, The front firewire and frount sound connecters are easy to connect to. The front USB's are marked well for a less confusing hookup. Sooo many more pros that I can't fit here.

Cons: I don't have a second PCIe 16 video card to utilize the SLI (though I shall correct that very shortly lol).
You need to have a wide case to accommodate the deeper video cards and deep enough to give room between the motherboard and the drives.

Other Thoughts: I'm ordering a second PNY PCIe 16 VCG7300GXPB GeForce 7300GT 256MB as soon as they're back in stock to test out the SLI capabilities.
