4 out of 5 eggsA good deal but...

Pros: It is a good deal if you are looking to buy inexpensive parts for a new comp. Also the other components can run cheaper as well.

Cons: The first one I received didn't not POST at all and couldn't quite figure out what went wrong on the Mobo. Second one worked. When I received the second one, i got a manual in Japanese and no drivers I had to manually d/l the drivers to get everything up and running.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking to get a mobo with lots of power out of it i won't recommend it. Spend more money to get at mobo that can support higher speed for your RAM. For those casual user that doesn't need much out of a new rig, this might be up your alley.

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of Junk To Be Honest

Pros: uh.. lol

Cons: The thing just simply doesn't work right. Didn't recognize my chip, or RAM properly. I have 3 years of computer science under my belt so I'm certainly no idiot when it comes to computers. Spent over an hour on the phone with MSI who couldn't help whatsoever. I'd completely avoid this board. Went to a local computer hardware store and got a new ASUS mobo.. everything works like a charm.

1 out of 5 eggsDoA, don't buy this...

Pros: none....?

Cons: This board arrived DoA. I tried two spare pentium processors that should work in it, in addition to the C2D i ordered. Don't buy this thing if you plan on getting your new computr up and running the day your stuff arrives! Other people reported DoA as well. I figured they were exceptions but the DoA rate on these must be very high... silly me.

Other Thoughts: Maybe its a good board if it works. But I don't know. I hope newegg gets me a new one ASAP. =( My new gaming rig is useless without the mobo!

2 out of 5 eggsA little discouraged

Pros: Good support options, and like the options it came with...It'll be great once i get to use it.

Cons: First one came DOA. I tried everything in my power to make it work, but to no avail. Newegg was great to work with, but it doesn't help when you're waiting lol.

Other Thoughts: The price is reasonable, and the features are nice. I don't know if they just have a bad lot of these or what...

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I bought the same exact board with a slightly newer chipset. They discontinued the 945p board on newegg in favor of the slightly cheaper and slightly faster 945gc. I would buy one of these, but I already have mine and I love the onboard sound very much. Its a great board!

Cons: Well the OC options on my bios are a bit lacking, you can only OC the FSB and transitively the CPU, not the other way around.

Other Thoughts: Well its the same exact board with a bit older chipset, but its still great and I'm sure you will love it!

3 out of 5 eggsNice for the Price

Pros: Good motherboard for the price. Things fit and reasonable options in BIOS.

Cons: 1 in 3 died after a short time. Failed to take flash update on the BIOS so had to RMA back to NewEgg.

Other Thoughts: NewEgg has been great with the RMAs but I have been disappointed in the quality of products in general. This motherboard is installed in two identical office computers with 8500GT video, 2x1GB RAM. First system installed and ran great. The second machine had nothing but problems. After a new motherboard and video card (also MSI), the second machine works. Had to replace the second MSI video card with a third from eVGA to get things stable. I would hesitate to purchase MSI products in the future due to this high failure rate.

2 out of 5 eggsBoard definitely has some quirks

Pros: Plenty of room on the board to get to your component. It is a full-size board, so make sure your case will be big enough. SATA ports point upwards, which is good.

Cons: No retaining clip on the x16 PCI-express slot so card can move around when switching out the RAM. No on board video so testing for dead video card can be very hard otherwise.

Other Thoughts: Came with BIOS v12.0 and the current version is v12.2 - flashing the BIOS with instructions from MSI are not very clear and the files do not want to run properly. Also, and this is important - memory only works in slots 1 & 3, or 2 & 4. Not all four at the same time. For whatever reason, this is the case. Anyone know how to fix this, or properly flash the BIOS on a Vista machine let me know.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat budget board

Pros: It's exactly what I bought it for; a budget board that supports pentium dual core processors. It doesn't have any bells and whistles, but it runs very well, no crashes so far at all.

Cons: Interesting overclocking... I wouldn't call it horrible but I certainly wouldn't call it good. Pentium DualCore e2160 chips have been overclocked to 3+ghz (check forums) but with this board mine will only push about 2.2-2.3 (230fsb) before it refuses to boot. However the board gives options for overvolting and a FSB up to 500mhz as well as DDR timing and DDR:FSB ratio control, so it may work out once I get it figured out.

Other Thoughts: Great little budget board, runs very well.

3 out of 5 eggsIt Works

Pros: I guess for the price this is a decent MOBO.

Cons: I guess I should not have rushed in ordering this MOBO because I overlooked one important item. This board does not support a 1394 connection and of course it's not listed in the specs. I was a bit disappointed by this. The documentation was bit pathetic compared to other MSI MOBO's I've used in the past. Also the location of the PATA was a bit to low for an 18" cable when putting this board in my mid-tower. I was lucky I had a 24" cable handy. I did not use the Floppy connection but beware it's even further away from where you'd normally mount a drive. The rear shield seemed a bit flimsy comparing to others.
