4 out of 5 eggsalright for the money

Pros: lots and lots of features. boots quickly. DVI and D-Sub. etc. read the specs

Cons: for overclockers, this board's bios will not let you change the CPU voltage. 24-pin power connector is really close to the IDE spot.

Other Thoughts: running an amd kuma 7850 with ddr2 1066 kingston hyperx ram. ram has to be manually set to 1066 and 5-5-5-15. was able to get the 2.8GHz kuma to 3.1GHz by changing the multiplier.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Good, solid board. With a BIOS update, will also do AM3.

Cons: Not many cons that I have found, but I don't do anything fancy with these boards as far as pushing them to their limits.

Other Thoughts: I use these boards in the white boxes that I spec out for work, so we probably have at least 20 or 30 (if not more) machines running this board at my work environment. We haven't had any trouble at all with them.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Board, Iffy Build Quality

Pros: Lots of features, fast and easy install. Price point makes it a good buy for a fast system on a budget. Graphics are fine for most users, unless heavy gaming is your thing.

Cons: VGA port did not function on first board. DVI output worked fine, but had to RMA board due to VGA issue. Like most boards, cheap or otherwise, build quality continues to be an issue. As always, Newegg rocks for RMAs!

Other Thoughts: I've always liked MSI boards for their features and performance. One glitch won't sour me on them. Two, on the other hand...

5 out of 5 eggsMobo

Pros: MSI always works best with me. I had badluck with the last MOBO which was Foxcon and for some reason MSI is the BEST for me. So this is def. a great Mobo

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: LOVE IT!

4 out of 5 eggsVery good board at a good price

Pros: Plenty of memory slots, decent layout, lots of SATA ports, decent onboard video. Includes SATA cable and SATA power adapter, too. Worked without manually modifying any settings for RAM, CPU, Drives.

Cons: Rebate says to wait 8-10 weeks after postmark expiration, which means it could be about 4 months before I see the rebate check.
Had in issue with a hard-drive and the board just beeped incessantly when it tried to boot, instead of giving any kind of understandable response. Fixed the problem by reinstalling the OS, but it was frustrating getting loud beeping that would not stop until I cut the power.

Other Thoughts: Used this for a mid-level build for a friend. Kuma 7750 CPU, 1 250GB SATA drive, 4 GB Patriot DDR2 RAM (PC2 6400). We will see if we need to upgrade the graphics...

4 out of 5 eggsWorks fine

Pros: Works with XP x86 and x64 and all versions of Vista with no problem.

Cons: Had to get a replacement because the first board was DOA, but no problems with the second one yet and have had it for 5 months.

Other Thoughts: Easy to install and setup, but drivers for XP 64 are on the NVIDIA site (nforce 7 series).

3 out of 5 eggsno XP x64 GPU Drivers?!?!?!?

Pros: Cheap, highly upgradable supporting the Phenom X4, looks like a good stable board...

Cons: WHY, would you EVER make a motherboard designed for 64bit processors and 64bit operating systems, THAT DOES NOT HAVE 64BIT GRAPHICS DRIVERS!?!?! I searched nvidia's website, MSI's website, Google, and nothing... There's drivers for everything EXCEPT the GPU........... MSI, you dropped the ball on this one...

Now I have to purchase either XP 32bit or Vista 32/64 bit just to be able to use the onboard video on this motherboard... Hey MSI, wanna buy me a copy since you neglected to use a chipset with XP x64 drivers?

Other Thoughts: Based on my first impression of this board, i give it 3 stars. Mostly for the shear stupidity by MSI on this one. I will write a new review for this motherboard once I purchase a copy of Windows that DOES have graphics drivers...

5 out of 5 eggsperfect?

Pros: -rock solid stable
-more SATA ports (6) than you can shake a stick at (cosidering i can only get 4 commonly sized SATA devices in my HTPC case)

Cons: -none that i can think of...

Other Thoughts: been running it at 100% CPU since 8/2008 (distributed computing) with no issues. even went from a B3 Phenom to a Windsor EE X2 (to save power) and onboard nvidia to ATI graphics without an OS reload (go vista++!) .

to the person with bad NIC experiences, RMA the board or seek tech support. i've only had a NIC go bad once in 10 years, and it was just this month (on a different mobo). this one is working just fine, and even has been running on gigabit for about a month now.

i'm pretty sure i saw a minor performance increase coming from an AM2/PCI-E: ~8 - 20% (with the same CPU), but i was stupid not to run any benchmarks as i was in a hurry to improve performance, or at least get a mobo in the HTPC that i could just drop in a better CPU at a later date...

4 out of 5 eggsDon't Panic

Pros: Take things one step at a time. Installation (mounting, Ram, Phenom 9600 quad) was smooth. Finished the PC, had trouble booting. Why? Don't waste your time messing around with the BIOS. If the BIOS doesn't recognize your (Sata) CD-Rom and/or your HD, 1) power down, then 2) plug the SATA into a different slot on your motherboard. My first choices didn't register in the BIOS. Plugged into different slots and found the ones that work prior to installing your MSI drivers. What happened next? Booted into Windows install. Be patient. Double check all the steps from installing the hardware to preparing to boot. I would recommend double checking all your hardware steps before you bother messing around with the BIOS. Why? Because once I found the correct SATA slots for the HD and CD-Rom the machine booted into Windows perfectly with the factory installed BIOS.

Cons: The two things I was most worried about before I laid eyes on the board were 1) if it was going to fit into my case properly and 2) if the LED and various Power switches were going to match correctly with the board. Neither one of these were an issue. THE "Bad": 1. If you use a SATA DVD-Rom, be prepared to buy another SATA cable at your own expense. The board comes with 1 sata cable, one SATA to power converter, and 1 IDE cable - this is their way of hinting that they recommend an IDE drive. 2), I do wish the board was a bit prettier. 3) Not the easiest setup altogether; no big problems but I had to guess my way through a couple things. That's about it. Just installed windows, board seems to be running great.

Other Thoughts: Comments... Seems like many of the reviews on this motherboard are issues that could be easily resolved by taking things one step at a time. You always have to be prepared to figure out your board.
