Get ready for a totally new overclocking experience that you've never had before! The X58 Eclipse SLI from MSI is designed with DrMOS OC technology. Instead of discrete MOSFETS and a Driver IC, DrMOS integrates all three into one package that takes up less space, uses less power and is much more power efficient.
Up to 24GB of DDR3 1333 RAM can be installed with triple channel mode for increased performance. Get even more performance – up to 1600MHz – through overclocking. Three PCI-Express 2.0 x16 cards can be mounted for cutting-edge graphic power with support for either NVIDIA SLI or ATI CrossFireX. 100% all high-quality conductive polymer capacitors give longer life and higher energy efficiency by supplying power to vital components independently.
Get eight channels of HD sound from the X-Fi Xtreme Audio card for pure, clear audio. Connect up to ten SATA drives at 3Gb/s for high-speed data transfers, as well as the option for multiple RAID configurations. Integrated dual Gigabit Ethernet LAN allows bottleneck-free connections to other network devices at broadband speeds and eight USB 2.0 ports allows for nearly unlimited possibilities in connecting peripheral devices.
Pros: Well laid out board, stable, excellent set of features. Raid configuration a snap under Vista 32. Slightly faster than the quad core Q9650 at stock clock speeds. This board does fastest 3D rendering "Carrara 6" I have ever seen on a single machine, and I am only running the "i7 920" with 3 gig of 1333 ram.
Cons: As with all new products the price is high, and will enviably drop in a short time. Although, it is still worth the investment for 3D rendering, and graphics.
Other Thoughts: This one worked flawlessly out of the box even though it is bleeding edge technology. Bios appears to be quite stable. Overall; MSI did an exceptional job designing this board. It has everything but the kitchen sink.

Overall a Good Board

Pros: Overall board layout is good (except for cons noted below), Supports 24GB RAM, Performance so far is very good.
Cons: when running in SLI with large cards (like the GTX 295) the second card blocks SATA ports 7-10 so you are limited to the other six.
Other Thoughts: First board was defective-- the heatsink mountings over the MB chipset were broken causing the board to overheat and lock up within 10 minutes of booting. RMA'd to newegg and the second board is working fine

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Easy base clock overclocking via mobo switch (for overclocking dumb people like me), clear cmos button on back pannel, nice bios
Cons: wanted to get killer xeno pro but if your gona sli or crossfire GPU cards theres no room so im stuck between choosing another nvidia 260 or xeno :( think the GPU wins. oh and mine was missing a screw so minus an egg lol
Other Thoughts: my first build worked out pretty niceley
this mobo 3.06 ghz core i7 8 gigs ram 2X 4 gb (plan to get more) evga nvidia gtx 260 1tb hdd bla bla bla
Pros: I had special needs to install in quiet case lian Li B10 mid atx. The location of #1 Pcie to fit my XFX HD-587A-ZND9 plenty of room as I wil never run in SLI. Creative XFI works great and was able to install my Hauppauge HVR 2250 tv card in the second video Pcie card slot because the other 1X slot covered by my huge video card. This is a very nice board. Some how when I installed in case I had a no boot with a 30-45 second wait and nothing, I checked New Egg RMA instructions which said to test MB out of case which is how I found the problem. Reinstalled in case :) Everything is working great I have great air flow and a quiet machine running I7 960 with Zalman
Cons: :) This set up to fast trying to give to my girlfriend so I can make another one.
Other Thoughts: Corsair 850HX PS and 6g of Corsair Dominator memory, still need to convert HD to SSD to be complete!

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Nice specs, good overclocking capability, plenty of extras.
Cons: Poor build quality/quality assurance. Heatsink on top of the Northbridge and Southbridge is secured via cheap Nylon fasteners and shoddy thermal grease. Built my rig and the IOH temp was over 120 degrees Celcius stock.
Other Thoughts: RMA process took over a week and was not fun.
