3 out of 5 eggswork(ed) never again msi

Pros: It has many ports. 3.0 usb for a year old mobo.
Will not buy from MSI again.

Cons: first time trying out MSI. My gut should have stayed with my Asus. one year and 3 months later. The motherboard 8 pin power connector goes bad. No display. nothing at all.

Will not buy from MSI again.

Other Thoughts: They have no Express RMA. this sucks balls. I have to ship my item then wait for them to ship me another mobo. Bad service in 2012 specially for a motherboard. without it, you are doomed.

If video card companies, and power supply companies can express rma items. 1 give them credit card info. 2. they ship your item to you right away so that you are up and running as quickly as possible.

Will not buy from MSI again.

1 out of 5 eggsHassle

Pros: Worked well until I did a BIOS update.

Cons: Now post screen hangs at initializing USB controllers. Have to unplug all my USB devices, then boot up, then plug all my USB devices back in. To top it all off they released the same board but with fx support, so if I wanted a fx processor I have to buy the same board that probably only has the words fx added to it. Guess what would happen if I did buy the fx Moho and did a BIOS update...that's right, the USB hang.

Other Thoughts: Stick with gigabyte or asus

5 out of 5 eggsAn update on a great MoBo

Pros: Stability. Quality of parts and manufacture. Lack of failure. Hasn't broken or died. Ability to unlock CPU cores.

Cons: The fact I can't buy another for a new build for a kid PC or media server.

Other Thoughts: Purchased this board back in June, 2010. Installed it in a Coolermaster case and have had no issues whatsoever with it since. I've run a few different video setups through it (one card, two older cards in SLi, two cards hooked to 4 monitors, etc...) and it hasn't given me a lick of trouble. Onboard sound works well enough to not make me want a discrete card. Added RAM, no problems. As long as I open her up once in a while and vacuum out the cat hair, I think this machine will last a looooong time, and will eventually end up as a media server. And will I buy another MSI motherboard? Absolutely!

3 out of 5 eggsNot bad board but the sound went out

Pros: Good board Plenty of features, Bios is a beast. Sound WAS good. The OCing knob was pretty neat though I never really used it. Unlocked my Sempron 140. I have my Sempron 140 at 3.7ghz unlocked, and it stays that way all day everyday.

Cons: audio died about 6 months in. Kind of a Fail on MSI's part, For the longest time I had to use my Audio from my Graphics card through HDMI, then I bought an after market Aduio Card. Still sucks though.

Other Thoughts: Not a bad Motherboard, but I think they (MSI) could have did better with the build quality.

1 out of 5 eggsWon't buy MSI again

Pros: Features, price

Cons: Quality

Other Thoughts: First one no sound right out of the box. Went through the pain of removing/sending back to MSI/replacing. Had new replacement MB from MSI in about 2 weeks. Now the second has the same issue, won't buy MSI again.

2 out of 5 eggsYear and a half later, Dead board

Pros: Lasted for a year and a half, worked FAIRLY well, inexpensive.

Cons: On-Board Ethernet adapter died after a year, now PCI-E slots are dying, buying new, non-MSI board.

Other Thoughts: Was a decent board at a time it was all I could afford, but I'm looking for a board that can last through a couple upgrades and doesn't fizzle out after a year to or a year and a half.

2 out of 5 eggs870A-G54

Pros: Was a very good price when I purchased it.

Cons: About 3 months in, I started getting blue screen errors, not knowing what it was I of course started to test everything and figure out what was wrong. In doing so I went to turn it back on after switching out the graphics card and I wasn't getting any power to the mainboard. I RMA'd the board and was told they were two weeks out, understandable. When recieving the replacement mainboard it came packed like a 10 year old had put it together. Packing tape on the outside wasn't stuck to the box on one of the sides, the tape job wasn't as secure as I would have thought with a computer product. As I open the box, inside it was like they ran out of packing material and threw in random bubble wrap bags(better then nothing i guess, but really?) The mainboard worked when I plugged it in which was only last night, we'll see if it lasts more then three months.

Other Thoughts: MSI should review the way they pack their goods when shipping them out. If I ever have to use them again I hope they have their heads on right when it comes to packing/shipping. Makes me hesitant to purchase from them. Every other manufacturer i've dealt with has had great packing. *BrandX* i've even thought to have over packed my items but, that makes me warm and fuzzy inside rather than upset.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Excellent board, works exactly as I intended it too, haven't had one problem, I don't do overclocking, so I don't use the on board dial and switches, but for everything else this board has worked flawlessly right out of the box.

Cons: I do not have any cons for this board.

Other Thoughts: Honestly I think the board was a wonderful buy, I use it with a Phenom x6 1100t 3.3Ghz - 3.7 Turbo. and an ATI Radeon 6970, also by MSI.
