4 out of 5 eggsGreat Value, but upgrade that BIOS

Comments: Very stable motherboard, great feature set, once you get the newest BIOS. I had horrible DMA errors with my CD drives, before I got the BIOS that came out last month. The onboard sound is even good.

4 out of 5 eggsnot really for overclocking

Comments: This is a pretty stable board and it lets you XXXX with the settings to a extent, but it won't let me run my XP 1900+ (1.6Ghz) over 1.7GHz without crashing, and I have mroe than adequate cooling. But if you're looking for a good, stable board for everyday use, this is more than recommended.

2 out of 5 eggsChanging FSB Causes Reboots

Comments: I build at least 2 computer a month. I have always used MSI boards, mostly KT266, and KT3 Ultra. I have never had a problem with stability. This is my first try with a KT4. I used a XP2200+, Corsair 400MHZ 3200, Zalman Flower Heatsink, 400 Watt Antec Power Supply, and an Asus GF4Ti4200. If I run the FSB in bios at the default 100 then it is stable as a rock. But then the CPU is not running at 1.8GHZ like it is supposed to. I messed around with voltage settings and FSB settings forever and read MSI forums to come to the conclusion that this board is not reliable. I feel that a board should run stable and at the correct speed with just the auto settings. Adjusting voltage and FSB is just for overclocking which I don't care about. Who knows, Maybe I'm doing something wrong. The same Ram and cpu run fine in my KT3.

5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: I bought this motherboard refurbished OEM with a stick of Kingston DDR400 model #KVR400X64C25/256. I was kind of wary buying a refurbished board, and the memory isn't on the MSI certified memory list, but I installed everything, cleared the CMOS and it booted right up. The memory runs great, and it overclocks like a champ. I haven't tried the onboard sound or lan yet, but I wont be using those anyway. Overall, its a decent KT400 board, and I only paid $39 with free shipping. You cant beat that! Newegg rules

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice.

Comments: An absolutely good buy. Cheap for a KT400 based motherboard, but contains the most vital features the chipset has to offer in my opinion (namely USB 2.0 and AGP 8x). The first thing I did do, however, was pick up a Vantec Iceberg to put on the northbridge. The aluminum Iceberg looks great on this motherboard being red (as well as the spare heatsinks you can place on the southbridge).

This board has been absolutely rock solid compared to my previous A-Bit NV7M which I had nothing but problems with. My second MSI board to own. People say there are problems reading the temp on CPU fan, which I had with my old MSI board, but this one seems very accurate to me. AMD XP 2200+ running at a steady 105-110 F with a Dragon Orb 3 (loud though, getting a Vantec Aeroflow soon).

5 out of 5 eggsThis board is easy

Comments: Got in two days installed it in 10 minutes load OS and installed the new drivers. And then overclocked Athlon XP 1800 to 1.72 Ghz no problem. Ran Unreal tournment 2003 flawless. This motherboard is great. Sound is lacking but hey it's free what do you expect. Overall comes with cool overclocking programs( although don't use it in windows doesn't always work right)
