3 out of 5 eggs

Comments: My experience with this board is just the opposite from the reviews below, which shows how difficult this board is with various video cards. My board refused to even boot when I combined it with a Radeon 9000 (saphire), 9200 (ATI), and even an Nvidia FX 5200 (PNY). The board worked fine with my GeForce3 TI, but that card works with anything. I eventually elected to use my spare GeForce4 MX which worked perfectly. This board also refused to detect my XP 2500 correctly and required manual frequency settings, which was annoying. In conclusion, if you can match this board with the right video and be willing to manually set frequency settings, it's not a bad board. However, I've put together a couple machines with the Nforce2 based MSI boards from NewEgg and they were a much better product.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent for Overclocking and very reliable

Comments: I bought this board from Newegg.com back in October, so I've had it for almost 8 months. I've had nothing but wonderful experiences with this board. This board is my first experience with overclocking as I've always had XXXXXX in the past which doesn't give the option to overclock. The thing I like about this board is you really can't "mess up" because if you overclock incorrectly (which I did many of time trying to learn how to OC), the board wont boot, it has a protection built into the MOBO so you don't ruin your stuff. Alls you have to do is reset the jumpers and start again. Bottom line: this is an excellent board for beginners, especially in the overclocking world. I keep it on 24/7 and its stable, no probs. My only problem with this bord is that it can be picky with the types of video cards you put into it. I tried putting in a PNY Ti4600 that I had in my XXXX and it wouldn't boot no matter what I did. Turns out PNY and MSI boards aren't too compatable. It didn't bother me too much becuase it forced me to upgrad (which is a good thing to me) so I sold my ti4600 and got a Radeon 9700 pro and my system rocks.

2 out of 5 eggs

Comments: bought 2 of these, had to return both with problems, got 2 RMA board 1 worked, the other only works at FSB of 100. avoid the MSI boards that end in L (like the KT4VL ). I have 8 of the KM2M and they have had no problems.

5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: I bought the KT4V to replace an older MSI board (3 years old, used it to build another box for my dad). I bought a 2400+ processor, 512MB of Crucial DDR 2700 RAM, and an ECS video card - all from NewEgg for $265 total (very fast delivery from NewEgg). Everything went together well - no problems. I use my PC for non-gaming use, so even though it is not the fastest out there, it is VERY fast to me. An excellent value - I hope it lasts another 3 years!

5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: I bougth this board a couple of weeks ago. Having an old AMD K-6 processor mobo, I decited up upgrade to a brand new MSI mobo. The reviews sounded iffy, but it works great. No problems whatsoever. This was one of the best buys i have ever gotten. I recommend this board to any upgraders out there. But to be on the safe side, you might want to get the newest drivers for it.

My Awesome System-
MSI KT4V-L
AMD Athlon XP+ 1800
512MB of DDR 333 RAM
ATI Radeon 7500

4 out of 5 eggs

Comments: My first KT4VL board had intermittent post problems. RMA'd back to NewEgg and another board came within a week. I've been running this board now for about 2 months without any problems. Very stable with a Barton 2500+.

5 out of 5 eggsStinky

Comments: I got this board because I have never had a problem with an MSI product. This thing lost my mouse and my kb. It was very unstable. I bought it on a replace only basis without the ablilty to get my $ back. I thought it was because it was discontinued. I feel like it was because they have had a lot of em come back. I just sent off an RMA. Ill let you know how it turns out. When you chase MB problems around for 5 hours though it tends to leave a distainful taste in ones mouth. I will just see if this board is stable and put it a system I build and sell to someone else. This wont be for my home system though as Ido not trust these boards anymore. I feel like im stuck with a lemon. (to be continued..... Brett)

5 out of 5 eggsSweet Mobo!

Comments: Ok, I've had this board for like 5 months now. First it would give me crc errors while loading ut2003, dame that sucked i love that game, anyways I flashed the bios to i believe the 1.7v and boom, no more crc errors. Ut2003 is on again baby, hehe. I'm able to overclock my 1700+ b core past 2 ghz, and very stable. Also I just picked me up some Kingston HyperX 512 pc 2700 mem, and this things flies like never before. Everything from newegg!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat stable mobo

Comments: After fighting with a problem-ridden mobo for almost a year, I finally ponied up the cash for this one. Best thing I could have ever done. The board is as stable as they come and its BIOS makes it easy to OC. I've now got an AMD 1600+ running at 2200+ speeds without the slightest hiccup. Definitely recommend it for the price. I'm sure there are better mobos out there, but for the price, you can't beat it. Newegg.com is the ONLY place I buy computer parts because their service and speed have been top notch on every order I've ever made.
