1 out of 5 eggs2 Boards DOA

Pros: None

Cons: As the one reviewer said "there's a reason this board has a 19% one egg reviews" its hit and miss whether you will get one that works and I got 2 that wont post, very frustrating and costly to return. Save you're sanity and look for a better board MSI is on the decline in Quality and customer service!

3 out of 5 eggsCPU compatability

Pros: I have bought 2 of these and the first one has worked to perfection great price (guess i caught it on sale) Booted fine and win went in no problem

Cons: The second board however has been a NIGHTMARE. BSOD different each time and win was a chore to get installed. I exchanged it and there does not seem to be a difference so im not sure if its because of a different cpu(2 vs 4 core), And both boards would not run very well if there was a mix of IDE and SATA so a could not ghost my old drive

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure if i just hit a bad batch or if there is a compatibility with some of the hardware i have chosen but i have not been able to find and BB post any where like this problems but i went all ATI/AMD hoping to avoid that issue

5 out of 5 eggsGood board once bios tweaked.

Pros: Cheap, with lots of PCIe slots. Worked out of the box. It has bright blue lights indicating phase swich setting which can be turned off in the bios. I unlocked my 960t to 6 cores. Onboard graphics set to share 1gb of ram push a 42” plasma better than the ati 5640 I bought to do hybrid crossfirex in it.

Cons: It beeps at startup one time per USB item plugged in. At first I thought this was a bios error indicator beep. Unfortunately I can't find a way to stop this in the bios. I was going to try out hybrid crossfirex since it is an 880g board but it's not supported on the e-45. I had other uses for the vid card so it doesn't matter. You have to set the power settings in the bios to S3 if you want the fan off when it sleeps

Other Thoughts: If you need a bunch of PCIe x1 & x4 slots get some super great deal, and are willing to mess around in the bios to undo everything they set wrong from the factory, this is a great board.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: VERY inexpensive in combo deal from another vendor.
Has legacy floppy & PATA support for recycling parts.
On-board video is plenty adequate for non-gamers.
Easy to overclock for newbies like me.
Runs very cool even under Prime95 stress.
Problem free, outstanding value.

Cons: Not cutting edge if you're so inclined.

Other Thoughts: Only $20 after rebate and combo with Phenom 2 X2-560BE.
Not able to unlock but I think AMD has pretty much stopped that game. Still, most software for most people can't use the extra cores.
Set on-board dip switches to 20% increase in FSB and set multiplier to 16x for a cool 3.8GHZ without much knowledge or effort. Rock stable at this level. I'm sure you could push more but this is plenty fast enough for us.
With the stock AMD fan/heatsink it all runs super cool and does not rise above 50c even under extended Prime95.
Cheap upgrade with extra savings by not having to buy new video, floppy, HDD, DVD, PS, CPU cooler, etc.
The most expensive part of the upgrade was from XP to Windows 7 (Thank You Micro$oft).

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good cooling, lovely options for nearly everything I could have ever wanted in the bios. allowed me to actually change my RAM:CPU divider to up the RAM speed to where it should be. Has option to unlock additional cores if possible. System rarely gets above 80F on any of the sensors in a room that's around 70F. Picked up my old servers RAID 0 array, which was an intel controlled array and it used it just fine, still perplexed about how a different controller could see and use those drives properly with out rebuilding the entire array.

Cons: Layout of the SATA connections, has one straight up, 4 on the edge, they are too close to the edge to safely allow my hard drives to sit comfortably, at least for the one standing up, could have included a right angle SATA cable for that one or something. But this is mostly due to my slightly smaller than normal case. The core unlock could be improved, there should be some sort of test to check for core stability prior to attempting to load the OS. Didn't include a TPM, but even if it did, due to where it connects, I could not use it, since my hard drives are in the way. Power Phase LED's showed I was in phase one the first few hours, now it's showing phase 4 constantly with a 45w single core CPU.

Other Thoughts: Overall, it's a great board, I would buy it again given the chance, and would purchase a different case, or at least one that has the hard drives mounted in a different location, or a bit further away from the motherboard.
Would be lovely to have diagnostic LED's on this board.
Would have been really nice to have the Clear CMOS button light up blue when the system is powered down (doesn't light at all), and the power/reset buttons to be blue when it's appropriate, but they are green.

System isn't being used for more than a simple FTP/Media server for the home, so I can't comment on the integrated graphics performance at all.

3 out of 5 eggsnice board, but Lan dead

Pros: setting it up was good. easy to install hardware as well as software. runs faster than the 3 yr old pc is the bonus. on board video is good for the better than average game.

Cons: Lan dead. no connections. the price should be comparable to that MSI 880GM-E43 for the features.

Other Thoughts: setup build Msi e45 mobo, 4gb gskill ddr3 1333, AMD Athlon II X2 260 Regor 3.2GHz,160 gb drive, dvd burner, & win xp pro. quiet and stable so far

1 out of 5 eggsFlaky

Pros: Its a pretty nice board spec wise. HDMI, Gigabit ethernet, expandability.

Cons: First board DOA, Second board unstable.

Other Thoughts: I think there is something wrong with this motherboard. I've tried multiple combinations of power supplies and memory and I still can't get it to be stable.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board. Lots of connections. E-Sata, etc.

Pros: Great board...All systems go. No hiccups. Superb onboard audio.

Cons: None yet...

Other Thoughts: Not really a con....but, if you are using a Coolermaster 690 case, you will have to remove one of the cable management brackets. Once you install the board, one of the cable management system clips will be positioned directly in front of your SATA ports. The SATA ports being right angled, this does cause an access issue. Minor issue.

4 out of 5 eggsBeware of possible troubles with large video cards!

Pros: Board is good for general purposes. I use it on my gaming build and has been nothing but good to me.

Cons: BIGGEST CON: If your GPU is a longer one (Mine is about 10.5 inches and I have this problem) then it may not be able to go as far down as possible due to the sata ports opposite the PCIE slot. It clicks in so I don't fear that it will fall out, but it is not screwd down so I am always a little scared. If you are paranoid of that sort of thing, or want no possible danger, AND are using a longer video card, I would recommend you consider staying away from this board.

Other Thoughts: Aside from the GPU issue I love this board, and love MSI.
