5 out of 5 eggsGreat board running since 08-2011

Pros: Still running great after a year, bought another one for kids comp while still available and it runs great also.

Cons: No on board usb 3 , no oc genie button on board.
Did not detect 1600 mem and sees it as 1333 which has me confused while running i5 25k.

Other Thoughts: Companies need to step it up with matx boards (eg...no oc genie button on z77 matx either)

i5 25k w/ CM 212evo/gskill ripjawsX 2x2g 1600 cl9 1.5v/msi 670ref-oc/Seasonic 620w/Silverstone tj08-e/Win7x64/Corsair c3 64g ssd & WD 2tb grn @1920x1080p

1 out of 5 eggsAVOID MSI LIKE THE PLAGUE

Pros: Hey, it worked fine for a year..

Cons: After a year the board stopped recognizing the RAM slots. Sent it in for a RMA...waited 3 1/2 weeks and finally got a "new" board which wasn't even packaged with any mounting screws...Then after troubleshooting my computer for about 10 hours I finally decided it was the MOBO AGAIN! This time the PCI e slot was defective which crashed the system whenever any GPU was connected.

The next part of this story involves how horrible MSI is with customer service. If you actually do reach someone, half of them are complete nit-wits. They basically told me there was no way they could have shipped a defective motherboard to me and blamed it on my PSU for killing the mobo, which after checking the PSU with a multimeter wasnt the case. These people are incompetent, it took me 5 different phone calls/people to finally speak with someone that could renew my RMA and give me the correct information

AVOID MSI LIKE THE PLAGUE IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THEIR PRODUCT. Gigabyte has much better customer service and a much more quality product

1 out of 5 eggsWorked ok for awhile

Pros: Micro ATX motherboard with onboard graphics and HDMI output seemed like a good fit for a home theater PC. Price was also reasonable.

Cons: Motherboard worked as advertised for about 8 months then just stopped working. Now it doesn't post, boot, or display anything to monitor. I sometimes get 3 beeps when I an resetting but otherwise it is now just a paper weight.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this motherboard from Newegg as part of a home theater pc kit in November 2011. When this issue surfaced I looked at the box and realized that Newegg had sold me a motherboard that was already 3 years old (manufactured in Nov 2008) and isn't warranteed by MSI according to the MSI website. Newegg has been nothing but great so far, so I was really suprised they would sell an old motherboard that has no warranty.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issues that you are having with this product.
This motherboard should be under warranty but please provide a serial number for us to verify it for you.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked

Pros: Worked well for what i needed it for. Just a desktop for watching netflix/low end games/video editing

Cons: Stoped working, bought it jan.18.12. I had geek squad look at my pc and they said the motherboard was fried. Yet i did nothing different to the pc and one day just wouldnt boot up

Other Thoughts: I tried e-mail customer support and they still have not answered my e-mails

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsNo mounting hardware

Pros: I don't know yet, I cant install the board.

Cons: I never bought a motherboard before that didn't have the little bag of mounting screws and motherboard standoffs, until now. Now I have to go out and pick some up.

Seriously MSI? You can't include 3 cents worth of mounting hardware?

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued MSI Customer,

MSI and most mb manufacturers does not inlcude any mounting screws for case since they are provided by all case manufacturers.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Board, Easy Build

Pros: Decent Price
install cpu, mem, Connect HD, PS- Post, load windows files, good to go!

Intel graphics 3000 is the best integrated grapchics solution I have seen. impressive. Great little setup for the money.

Cons: only 2 mem slots but then MSI makes a different model with 4, so no problem really.
No OC genie button.no biggy either.

Other Thoughts: Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz
Kingston 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM (PC3 10600) KVR1333D3N9K2/8G
WD 1.5 black drive 6.0gb

Everything worked first attempt loaded windows 7 in 12 minutes. Cant complain, just ordered a second board for another build.

Cons: Only 2 mem slots as stated in details which I missed, no optical spdif also stated, no USB 3 header on board also stated. No over-clock genie software in box, must download

Other Thoughts: Be sure to support the edge when inserting 24-pin ATX connector,

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Performer and An Unbeatable Price

Pros: SATA III
HDMI
Runs cool
Audio Ports
Quick

Cons: Only two Sata 3 ports
Only 1 HDMI port
BIOS Basic
Only one PCI x16 slot

Other Thoughts: I bought this board for a HTPC build. I was looking for a SATA II and HDMI connections. This board fits my needs perfect but does not have much room for expansion (wont really need for an HTPC build).

The BIOS has some OC functions (wont need for HTPC) but nothing as nice as my other Gigabyte boards.

THe lastest BIOS update got rid of the beeps. It made multiple 3-4 beeps with the old bios. The new bios does one short beep and then its on (sounds JUST like my PS3)
