1 out of 5 eggsIt was great in theory

Pros: The actual layout for the board was nice. In an ATX with the case that I have, I like the upward SATA slots, and I generally like where it lines up. The high-tolerance hardware sounded awesome, and I'll admit, the click bios sounded cool. The OCGenie is also a really great idea.

Cons: Unfortunately, this motherboard has been giving me random lockups for over a year and a half now and it's finally degenerated to bluescreens on a multi-weekly basis. After 10 of them last night, I started pulling hardware and swapping in alternates, trying to pinpoint the problem in time for Christmas, but... In the end, none of the hardware was bad, which just leaves the motherboard.

Their update system is also sadly terrible - the liveUpdate is handy for scanning all the hardware and showing new versions, but I've tried as many as 10 times in one day to make those new versions install and it goes through the motions and tells me - after reboot - that there's a new version out there: the same one I just installed, which is magically still not my current version.

I also couldn't get the OCGenie to work due to a frustrating number of things that had to be installed for the CPU to register with it in the OS.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I really wanted to love this motherboard. It had a lot of buzz, it was at a good pricepoint, the layout is appealing to me and the system I built. But it's been a nightmare and I'm now stuck looking for a new motherboard instead of the graphics card I was hoping to get. I suppose I'll go with the brands that everyone else uses next time - I got burned reaching for this one.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat P67 Motherboard

Pros: Stable and reliable for me. I have updated the bios so I, when funds allow, can pop in an IvyBridge chip. Has a myriad of USB ports, including 3.0 and has a 1394 port as well. I feel I have a good foundation to my system for a while now.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My system:

1 out of 5 eggsGreat when one actually works.

Pros: Works great when it actually works, the GUI interface bios makes overclocking pretty easy and everything is lad out well. handles my i5 perfectly fine with an sli setup.

Cons: I have now gone through 4 replacement boards, none have worked out of box. Since all this started my rig has been out of commission for 6 months and now counting until I buy a different board. It's always something when I got a replacement, first the bios was corrupted, couldn't flash it to fix it, second one not sure what corrupted but just stopped working, 3rd was the same out of box, now this 4th one they sent me a replacement that has bent processor pins. Needless to say, MSI has lost my business for good.

Other Thoughts: The costumer service is at best mediocre, they only paid for shipping on this last board, when I have asked them to cover the others before since it was a DOA case. Still wouldn't budge.

2 out of 5 eggssound and usb problems

Pros: Military specs

Cons: Mouse is very unstable. It pauses and stutters all the time. Tried dif mouse and drivers and it still happens. Logitech wireless mouse both times. Sound keeps going out. Acts like speakers are not plugged in. If I unplug the speaker cable and plug back in it dorks for a little while. Tried diff drivers and same issue.

Other Thoughts: Hdd thru put is disappointing as well. When moving files from one to another windows 7 shows less than 10 Megs a sec. This Also causes everything else to be unresponsive.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great mb over all. hasn't failed (sort of) in almost a year of use.

Cons: The MSI extras that come with it are just junk. The sound driver is horrible, the picture viewer is useless and the LIVE UPDATE 5 is awful and messes everything up if you use it. MSI software is garbage. The MB is fine, let windows do the rest!

Other Thoughts: Good MB and cheap when i got it on sale. Glad it's discontinued and I'll be selling this comp once I build my new one. Not buying anything MSI again!

Pros: Great Board, the bios is easy to use. This is the first decent MB I have bought, and I am very happy with it. I like that it allows for plenty of upgrades with USB3.0 and Sata6gbs.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: MSI P67A-G45
I5 2300 2.8GHz
4gb Patriot Gamer 2 RAM
150Gb WD VelociRaptor 10k

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Piece

Pros: Very well built and thought out. I love the BIOS very easy to use. The Control Panel in the OS doesn't work well for OC but I was never one to use that.

Cons: The only problem I have with it is no eSTATA port or dongle.

Other Thoughts: Great MB for price and fully up-gradable.
