2 out of 5 eggsshort life

Pros: inexpensive

Cons: I bought this back in january and it has failed... now it won't even post and had the faint smell of burnt electronics in the case. Now to go through the RMA process. Have to buy a replacement in the mean time.

Other Thoughts: Up until this week it was running fine. never overclocked; never had any problems with on-board audio/video/usb.

3 out of 5 eggsIts okay

3 out of 5 eggsNot recommended.

Pros: Budget
Budget
Strict budget.
Strict budget.

That is all.
Fine... um.... 16GB of ram .. I guess.

Cons: Max TDP of 95w. I know it's says more but if you just google there is a release noting or advising against the use of 95w+ TDP.

Because of this, I can only plob a FX-4100 into this motherboard.
GPU cards longer than 8 inches blocks of top 3 (of the 6) available SATA ports. Was lucky enough to get a 7850 to fit.

Other Thoughts: Not wort it, there are better options out there.

5 out of 5 eggsI don't usually write reviews

Pros: It works as advertized. Period. Some dopes in here write reviews while doing a Jim Carry impersonation (talking out of their but) The MBD is the heart of the PC. Not the CPU. It controls EVERYTHING, including the CPU. Follow the link to MSI that NE provides, do home work. If it boots and does what MSI says, auto 5 egg. Find a better MBD for LE$$.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: Even if it only lasts a year, as I've been reading the cheaper Asus boards tend to do lately. (I really like their drivers.) I think it would be well worth it. In a year the board would be worth maybe half what I paid. $25 bucks or less. $25 or less a year to keep the lights on the box lit is a good thing. (;^)

2 out of 5 eggsNot very pretty...

Pros: Pretty box, fits my mini ATx case, boots

Cons: Will not recognize nVidia video cards (tried 3), allows me to install drivers, but cards' Prpoerties/drivers not recognized. Weird software/utilities included, and updating the BIOS was a real adventure. I installed a Regor AM3 250 (65watt) that had been solid as a rock on a GBT mbrd, but not sure what the long term will be w/this mbrd.

Other Thoughts: I've got to say that I am VERY disappointed in this MSI product. I've owned Asus, GigaByTe, Asrock, and FoxConn mbrds and never have I had a negative experience like this - Worst software utils I've ever seen (slow, klunky and hard to install), I had to use an old ATI vid card driver just to get the onboard graphics working. No more MSI for me.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear SCBee,

If you are trying to use the onboard + an external video card, it must be an ATI/AMD based video card. By default, the onboard video will be disabled if an external Nvidia video card is detected.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

2 out of 5 eggsBAD TEMP SENSOR

Pros: Does everything its supposed to

Cons: There is a bad cpu temp sensor so everytime i play a game it throttles me down to 800 mhz tries to tell me that my cpu jumps from 50 C to 255 C and keeps running? It would of fried and shut off, And i just rma a graphics card to msi and they toke more then a month to send it back When it got there in 3 days
