1 out of 5 eggsBad motherboard!!!!!

Pros: -Small
-SATA 3
-ClickBiosII
-Fast SATA 3

Cons: - Only 1 SATA 3
- Only 1 PCI-E 16x slot
- Only 1 USB 3.0 header
- DOA

Other Thoughts: Please DO NOT buy this motherboard!! I don't know how much I can stress this. I received my mother board DOA! I bought this motherboard because I was tight on money and it looked nice. But man was I wrong, I received this motherboard through UPS and when I put it into my computer build about 2 months later I found out that it was DOA (Dead on arrival) because when I turned I was done with my build I went to turn it on and surprise surprise I got a 99 error and nothing else. When I booted the computer as soon as I turned it on I was getting a 99 error in the lower right corner of the screen and it wouldn't post or do anything. I went to the computer store to test out my processor and memory which were both new and they told me that it was the motherboard. So I called MSI and got an RMA approved and I had to pay $15.00 for the shipping through UPS. I had to send it all the way to California and I had to wait a week for MSI to get it at their RMA center then, after that I had to wait an additional week for them to process the RMA and replace the motherboard. I had to wait one more week to get it back through UPS Ground and I assembled my build and it worked with the new motherboard. I was so relieved to know that that was the problem and that I didn't have to wait more to send something else back and go through the whole process 2 or 3 more times. So my experience with this motherboard isn't very good. ONCE AGAIN PLEAS E DON'T BUY THIS MOTHERBOARD. You will save yourself a lot of time. Just find another motherboard on NewEgg!

Manufacturer Response:

We apologize for the issues that you are having with this product.
Which processor did you use? Please contact us directly at usreview@msi.com so we can help you to troubleshoot.
POST code 0x99 is already the final stage of self test it's strange to see the system to hang there.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Board for the price

Pros: The board comes with a good UI display software for BIOS and for the price I got it it is pretty much unbeatable ($50-60).

Cons: The only problem that I found with it is that sockets were really tight. I couldn't even manage to put the power connector all the way in when I was testing and after I was done with testing I tried to remove the connector and it basically wouldn't. I'm pretty sure the only way I'll get that off the board will damage the board considerably. Since I don't intend to do that until pretty much new CPU sockets come around, I don't think it will be a problem. This is the reason for removing one egg.

Other Thoughts: The con could have been an exception to the board I got.

2 out of 5 eggsGood motherboard but the new ver has problem

Pros: I bought a lot of this MB and they all worked great until the recent rev.

Cons: the latest revision gives me an error message every time when I install the motherboard drivers on a new PC, it requires MS Frame 4.0 to be installed so that the motherboard can be installed properly, otherwise it keeps saying it can't install the device driver and there is a yellow icon in the Device Manager. I don't understand why MSI changed the revisions with this issue, it was working perfectly fine before, if it aint break, why fix it?

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issues that you are having with this product.
There were no reivision change for this product, and the issue you've encountered is in fact a software-related issue.
Please install Microsoft .Net Framework requested by the software applications in the system to rid of the error message.
Additionally, you can double-click on the questionable device in the Device Manager to determine what the device is and then apply the proper driver for it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board!

Pros: This was my first build. Hooked everything up and it booted up perfectly first try. BIOS is very easy to use with the mouse. Very happy with the purchase.

Cons: Motherboard makes a loud beep once every 10-15 minutes, and I don't know why! The CPU fan speed cannot be changed no matter what fan speed settings I set it to...yes I have tried both 4-pin fan connectors (CPUFAN and SYSFAN1). The back I/O Plate is very flimsy and got bent trying to secure it into the case.

Other Thoughts: This board is paired with an Intel Celeron G1610 processor, 4GB of DDR3 1866 memory (running at 1333 of course), 320GB HDD from an HP 10" Minibook loaded with Ubuntu 12.10, 500W Antec Earthwatts PSU, and an old Compaq Presario case.

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't Work

Pros: -USB 3.0
-1x SATA III
-Small!
-Looks nice!

Cons: I paired this with 4 GB DDR3 1333 RAM and a Pentium G2020 CPU and when I had everything put together correctly. I powered it on and half way through the POST process, it randomly shut down. Strange. I tried to turn it back on and it wouldn't power up. I reconnected the AC cable and it began automatically turning on and off continuously. I reset the CMOS (while the motherboard was off) and that didn't work.

Other Thoughts: I'm assuming I got a bad board. I RMAd it and got an MSI B75MA-P45 instead. After having good luck with my old K8T-NEO back in the day, I couldn't give up MSI just yet. Let's hope this new board works.

5 out of 5 eggsSmall solid entry mobo

Pros: A mere 6.81" wide instead of the MicroATX maximum of 9.6"! That makes this board great for MicroATX slim cases where reviewers complain about RAM slots or SATA ports conflicting with the drive cage.

Likely lower power consumption than more fully-loaded motherboards, yet all of your basic ports are still present.

HDMI, USB 3.0, and SATA 6.0 Gbps--oh yeah!

Cons: No DVI port.

Other Thoughts: I'm deploying several of these as office workstations.

This board is so small that MSI couldn't place the CPU where some MicroATX cases expect it to be. So be cautious when buying cases with an air tube or partition plate.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It works. Nothing damaged when it arrived. It is perfectly small. Holds everything I needed it too; i7 3770k, 8gb Ram, GTX 660, 520w PSU, etc. It is a little amazing motherboard.

Cons: Apparently you cannot overclock it past a certain amount? OC Genie works pretty well, but if you want to do it manually, you might go through some trouble.
