5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: I got a amd fx 4130 and 8gb of ram runs game amazingly I do not over clock because I have a stock heat sink. Six sata ports disappointed no Ide does make a big deal because I got a ssd. I recommend you think how many pci cards you are going to have.

Cons: If you get a two slot graphics card it covers the pci-e x1 slot

Other Thoughts: Over all great board for beingging gamers I recommend you getting this board.

Cons: Large 2+ slot GPUs cover the PCIe slot
Can't' overclock as much as other boards can

3 out of 5 eggsSIZE

Pros: Why is your Micro board bigger than a mini board

Cons: This motherboard is bigger then my mini board

Other Thoughts: Yes i could have read the dimentions. But with the name "Micro". i assumed it would fit in my MINI computer

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Our Micro ATX is a standard form factor, and mini is intended for Mini ITX form factor, please kindly review the page below in regards to form factors.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad for a file server board

Pros: Cheap. Runs the AMD FX series chips no problem.
is a good back up board for spare parts.

has 6 sata ports and does a RAID in a limited form.

Cons: The bus is sort of slow compared to other more spendy boards but you would have to expect that. I wont use it for a mainstream board but just something like a media server or a file server of sorts.

--has 2 ram slots. that's it.

Other Thoughts: I got this board by buying a combo deal. I wouldn't use this board for my stuff but i'm somewhat picky though. i'll keep it as a back up just incase my other board dies.

For the money though - I wont complain much about it.

5 out of 5 eggsReally good motherboard. Solid.

Pros: The thing is rock solid. An armada of PCIeX16, x1 slots and SATA3 connections. Support for huge memory (I'm using 16gb now, a paltry sum for this board). Support for massive interconnect bandwidth. It is the backbone of my primary Xen server. The thing is SUPER reliable.

Cons: None so far.

3 out of 5 eggsDont use Razor Mouses

Pros: Nice budget mother board, has everything you need for a beginner build.

Cons: Do not use a Razor Naga or similar mouse for this Motherboard. There is an issue with the usb device software that causes the Bios to lock up leaving you staring at a blank screen for 10 minutes. (the computer will eventually boot)

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issues that you are having with this product.

We tested this motherboard with a Naga Epic but did not experience the symptom.
Configuration:
BIOS: A7641AMS.HF0
Razor mouse: Naga Epic (RC30-005101) Wireless

Can you email us your system spec as well as the full model of Razor mouse that you are using to usreview@msi.com?

Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: A good sturdy motherboard, nervous hands installed it and it works fine. Bent some bottom pins and it touched the chassis many times, still posted.
Great for a first build. A quality product. Very easy to install with the manual provided.

Cons: nothing bad to report.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap

Cons: As soon as it booted i found that none of the Sata ports work. I've tried every bios option and none of them get it to recognize any hard drives.

Other Thoughts: If i didn't have to wait a month before being able to try it I would have returned it.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice and cheap motherboard made by MSI, a brand that you can trust. Works well upgrading my son's HP Desktop.

Cons: After six months it doesn't boot anymore. Reset CMOS, still doesn't work. Troubleshoot and rechecked hardware piece by piece but had no luck. I am very frustrated with this mobo.

2 out of 5 eggsNot a wise purchase

Pros: Small.

Cons: The expansion slots on this motherboard are too close together. I bought this motherboard for my stream PC knowing that I wouldn't need a powerful grasphics adapter. I tried to slot both my GTX 650 and my AverMedia capture card side-by-side and the GTX 650 covers the PCI-E x1 slot that houses my Capture Card

I cannot find a stable overclock for my processor with this motherboard. I've tested my FX-8150 my 970A-UD3 and was able to acheive 4.3GHz stable from 3.6GHz. When I tried to overclock it using this motherboard, it will randomly drop to 1.6GHz or lower while under heavy use. I've disabled C1E and Cool&Quiet, but it still drops. It's definitely the motherboard, not the chip.

The onboard sound card is terrible. I often have to jimmy the cables, which produces static, in order to get things working. in both ears of my headphones. Not fun.

Other Thoughts: Spend the extra bucks and get something of higher quality

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issues that you are having with this product.
Please be advised that FX-8150 is not supported on this board as it's not listed on the CPU support list.
