1 out of 5 eggsSame as other people, board DOA

Pros: none so far it was DOA when I got it

Cons: DOA on arrival

Other Thoughts: Very disappointed that newegg will let dead boards be sold on their site. Mine def had been used before and was a repackaged return or something similar. Have built over 500 rigs and know what to look for and mine had the signs along with the fact that someone re-sealed the anti static bag.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Jason,
Sorry to hear about the issue you reported. Before considering an RMA can you check following steps below since many reasons can cause the situation like this ,
1. Check and make sure that power are connected correctly and firmly (JPWR1 and JPRW2), clear CMOS.
2. Check your other major hardware’s (memory, video card, CPU and power supply) to ensure that they are not the cause of the issue.
3. If you need further assistant, please feel free to contact our technical support department directly at 626.271.1004 from M to F, 6am to 6pm Pacific standard Time.

Thanks for choosing MSI

Best Regards,

5 out of 5 eggsSmall board yet power packed.

Pros: Onboard video, audio, and networking in case of equipment failures.

Uses a Standard BIOS and not UEFI. (I use GNU/Linux too.)

Good list of supported hardware configurations.

Cons: These won't knock off eggs, but they could be improved upon:

The motherboard is a bit small for MicroATX and in some cases the front edge of the board comes up short from mounts which can leave the board ill secured to flexing.

No clear way to update the BIOS. A BIOS flashing utility that works from within Windows would help. I "think" you have to use a boot disk as it is.

Some BIOS settings need better help.

Other Thoughts: For the price, this board sure has the bang for the buck. Have had it for a few weeks now, and love it.

3 out of 5 eggsWin 8.1 loses

Pros: Had no problems with this board for last few years but now wanting to install newer OS, and it doesn't support above Windows 7

Cons: DOES NOT SUPPORT WIN 8.1

1 out of 5 eggsproblematic board

Pros: None.

Cons: Bought four of these boards. Each one has flawed audio with breaks and pauses in the sound. Installing a audio card does not help. Something is wrong with the processors relationship to the board. Mouse is often erratic and one of my boards crashs frequently. Don't buy this board.

Other Thoughts: Wish china hadn't taken back Hong Kong because once great MSI now sucks.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
Based on the symptom you reported, we suggest you checking following steps below since many reasons can cause the situation like this ,
1. Check and make sure that speakers are connects correctly. If possible do a clean install of window for best results.
2. Check your other major hardware’s (memory, video card, CPU and power supply) to ensure that they are not the cause of the issue.
3. If you need further assistant, please feel free to contact our technical support department directly at 626.271.1004 from M to F, 6am to 6pm Pacific standard Time.

4 out of 5 eggsMSI MOBO

Pros: Stable, didnt have issues.

Cons: The current one just didnt come with life in it, So I had to Return it and is currently under testing.

All I can say is ready when you buy parts online. They tend to come in dead on arrival.

Other Thoughts: This one was to replace the last same model, Make motherboard. The experince I put in on the Pro and Cons
section is about that board and not this one since it arrive dead.

5 out of 5 eggsMSI

Pros: I had no problems with this motherboard. Works well with Linux style operating systems.

Cons: n

Other Thoughts: I wanted a motherboard that would work with a Linux style operating system. This motherboard advertises "Active Phase Switching that works for ANY O.S". I paired this with a B59 processor and 8gig of TEAM 1333. I loaded her up with UBUNTU15.04 64bitt. She fired right up and has been running that OS without a hitch. Nice, quick, and smooth.

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer beware

Pros: Cheap, came as part of a pre-designed combo package. Easy to install.

Cons: Overall product is terrible. I'm a manager at a computer repair shop and we used this board as part of a combo package to give our customers the opportunity to buy a custom built, performance based unit.

When we initially built the unit it ran okay. We put a quad core processor in it and it seemed to run a little slower than it should. Someone bought the unit, and then we ran into issues where it wouldn't boot into Windows. It was still new, so we decided to just wipe it and re-install Windows 7 but it won't even get into the installation screen like another reviewer had experienced.

So after replacing the RAM, using a new PSU, testing the processor out on another board to make sure it wasn't an AMD problem, and swapping out just about everything I could think of I got online to read the reviews of this product and have come to the realization that this board is junk.

Other Thoughts: So not only is our business out of the money we spent on this thing, but it's also potentially hurt our reputation.

I've worked with MSI products before, some decent and some not so much. I personally am entirely underwhelmed by this experience, and our business will adjust accordingly.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Good

Pros: yeah this motherboard just a basics, Not fast not bad just basic and working good.

Cons: Ok there was just a little problem, after all cables the video cards and wirings. when i start up the PC it did not read my Hard Drive. Well it boot up you can see MSI LOGO when the PC starts. And then it says Something About CD/DVD blah blah. So i thought error and i know it's not. so i open it up the Computer Case i re-check the SATA Connector both hard drive and my DVD player. Well they were in SATA 1 and the DVD at SATA 2. so i didn't bother Them Both. i start my PC Then i went to the BIOS there it was. The BIOS sets at other SATA # So i adjust it at SATA 1 is my hard drive and the Sata 2 is for my DVD Just that part and then i save it then Reboot. after the Reboot it Reads my hard Drive then everything smooth Awesome Case Solve.

Other Thoughts: i was using Phenom ii x4 952 Black Edition and my Ram was G.SKILL AEGIS 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C11D-16GIS.

Power Supply: Enermax 600 WATTS
