1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: It looks nice, small and sleek.

Cons: DOA, ram slots felt a little flimsy

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
Based on the symptom you reported, we suggest you checking following steps below since many reasons can cause the situation like this ,
1. Check and make sure that power are connected correctly and firmly (JPWR1 and JPRW2).
2. Check your other major hardware’s (memory, video card, CPU and power supply) to ensure that they are not the cause of the issue.
3. If you need further assistant, please feel free to contact our technical support department directly at 626.271.1004 from M to F, 6am to 6pm Pacific standard Time.

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer Beware: Poor Quality Control

Pros: Inexpensive.

Cons: -DIMM1 is malfunctioning, causing a reboot loop.
-Poor BIOS interface.
-Limited BIOS options with memory and CPU clock.
-BIOS recognizes X.M.P. timings of G.Skill F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM, and uses the 8-8-8-24-2T timings but still posts at 666 (1333) instead of 800 (1600).
-Poor quality control.
-Power, reset, HDD LED, speaker, and Power LED pinouts not in paper manual in box: working PC to view DVD or wireless device to search the internet for pin out required.
-Paper manual explains almost no BIOS settings.
-Online/DVD manual does not explain all BIOS settings.

Other Thoughts: I don't like giving negative reviews, nor do I give 1 egg reviews lightly or out of spite. This product truly deserves a 1 egg review.

I've verified that both of my RAM work in DIMM2 and that neither RAM work in DIMM1, confirming that the fault is in the motherboard.

Given the cost of shipping that I'm now going to have to pay to RMA this board, I'm going for a refund and will buy a better product. I should have spent more money on a better product in the first place. I should have paid more heed to the number of quality control issues other users have posted about.

How does a bad DIMM slot get past a most cursory QA check? How hard is it to add a piece of paper to the package to show pinouts? (Not that revising the manual is difficult either...)

3 out of 5 eggs....

Pros: All seems well for about a year.

Cons: A little over a year in i started having problems with my pc booting. So i took it all apart tested everyhting i could and found no problem with the psu, gpu, cpu, or mobo and put it all back together. Boom starts up fine(bit scarry). A couple months go by and i have the same problem only this time i cant get it to start at all, even after checking everything. Took it to the shop and they said that my psu was bad, ez fix. so i get the power boom turns on like a boss so freakin happy. A week passes NO START. sooo i go down to the shop, they test it and say its my gpu, ez (i had a duplicate) installed the gpu, comp works fine. (getting kinda frustrated at this point). about 3 days go by and AGAIN no start, i take it down to my shop needless to say i was angry at them, so they bring down king tech, He says that my mobo blew my (weekold) psu and gpu. Im stumped. Got the same mobo otw now, another psu and gpu. i supose 18 months is an ok life.

5 out of 5 eggsJust a headsup

Pros: Solid cheap board, been in use 24/7 for over a year with no problems.

Cons: Not worth docking an egg, but the SATA port layout is not video card friendly. It's pretty easy to tell by looking at the pic, but I did not notice before buying (my fault) I was only able to use 3 of the 4 ports when running a graphics card (an old HD 5850). Even the 3rd barely clears with a 90 degree sata cable.

Other Thoughts: This is a cheap budget board barely larger than an ITX mobo, I won't knock an egg off for a partially blocked sata port.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: 1- Control CPU fan and case fans via BIOS
2- TWO case fan headers
3- PCI-E 3.0
4- Solid cap capacitors
5- Small footprint
6- DVI out
7- BIOS adjustable CPU fan speed quieted Intel G1620 noisy fan

Cons: 1- BIOS is bland
2-Case fan speeds via BIOS can be reduced no lower than 50%
3- No PCI slot

Other Thoughts: I own two of these boards and for price I am glad I purchased them. Here are the builds:
HTPC-
MSI LGA 1155 board
Intel G1620 CPU (great price/performance ratio)
Crucial DDR3 1333 RAM (1x4 gig & 1x1gig)
Rosewill RG630 S12 PSU
XFX AMD/Radeon HD 6770 DDR3 128 bit 1 gig graphics card w/800 streaming processor

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Everything seems to function as intended.

Cons: Fan Speed settings are crazy. The CPU fan speed will drop to 0%, but the case fans are locked to a 50% minimum. This is crazy! Don't use this for your HTPC!

Other Thoughts: I bought this locally to repair a prefab desktop. It works fine, but the machine is much louder than it used to be, even after adjusting settings in the BIOS. Out of the factory, it barely made a whisper.

The case fans (sys1 and sys2) seemed to be locked at a 50% minimum in the BIOS and I can't control them manually with SpeedFan. I tried using the MSI ControlCenter software and the speed seems to be locked at 50% also. What a shame! Seems like a quality product otherwise.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Board worked great. No design flaws, easy BIOS configuration, and solid product overall.

Cons: The onboard NIC was bad. I was using this board in my firewall I built. I noticed early on that he onboard NIC would not consistently stay connected to my wireless router. After troubleshooting everything I decided to return the board and purchase a new one.

1 out of 5 eggsNot recommended will not buy again

Pros: -Size of the board
-Price
-UEFI (not a pro for me but maybe someone out there cares about the feature)
-M-flash

Cons: -Bios menu looks very old for 2013
-Several bents pins were present on the CPU socket (MSI offered to replace it if I paid retail price again)
-Did not include a instructions manual, I did not need it having lot's of prior experience but that may be useful for some people
-Ethernet port doesn't detect internet connection. I tested on ubuntu 7, 9 and 13 (of course it is not supported so I had no expectations)

***REAL CONS!!!

I have been having issues with it since the first day. I purchased this board & several parts for a client who wanted a PC to mix and create music. I built the PC and it would not boot. No signs of life at, all components are brand new.

I had a bad power supply from logisys. used a known working power supply and a newly purchased one & the board boots for 15 seconds than boot loops until I flip the power switch from behind (no video at all). I booted again with the basics (one ram, cpu, motherboard and a hard drive) it booted.

Which is my next point only one RAM slot works. I tested both sticks of memory in the slot away from the CPU and they worked. that slot is the only one that allow the PC to boot.

Lastly after installing windows 7 in machine it loads the desktop for only 5 seconds than reboots and than boot loops and won't even get past the post screen.

Newegg denied the warranty even though I filed the claim in the 30 window because I did not ship out in time but offered a 15$ gift to my account. (I don't know why)

Other Thoughts: Even after a bios update my thoughts are I could not recommend this Motherboard at all with the various issues.

and all parts were purchased from Newegg.com if that means anything to anyone.

Manufacturer Response:
