All Solid Capacitors

Capacitors are the most important component for electronic product's power supply. The quality of the capacitors can impact the stability of the entire system and risk of product failure. Currently there are two types of capacitors, electrolytic capacitors and solid capacitors. Compared to electrolytic capacitors, solid capacitors have a longer lifespan and provide a more stable power under high temperatures. More importantly, solid capacitors do not have any liquid materials inside, and thus will not suffer a leak which would infringe upon the product's stability. With such benefits is it no wonder that solid capacitors are very important for product quality's improvement.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes its job

Pros: Works good with my A8. Nice OC functions, good layout. Great price point. I have been building computers for years and this is the first time i went with an MSI mobo and I was not dissapointed at all

Cons: none at all

Other Thoughts: Chipsets run cool and wide selection of compatible coolers. You definitely want a good cooler on APU's they run really hot

4 out of 5 eggsit works

Pros: click bios, cheap, hasn't died yet.

Cons: the big problem with this mobo is the place where they put the sata ports, if you have a long graphics car like I do it's a tight fit, my graphics card is actually bending up slightly because there isn't enough space to plug anything in. I won't take off a star because of this but the pcb is actually a brownish color and not black, you can tell from a distance so it doesn't big me but some people may mant to consider that.

2 out of 5 eggsOn the fence with this one

Pros: Great board for the price when it works

Cons: I ran into some very odd issues with two of the 4 boards I've bought. two months into the use of one board the machine started developing odd errors and random reboots. Another machine I built two weeks into its use its started to develop odd errors and random reboots. I tried swapping components and finally came to the motherboard. I had a board sent over night and replaced the original. All problems disappeared. I'm in the process of returning the other. I did a bios update.. cleared CMOS all the obvious prior to swapping the board with a new one.

Other Thoughts: I experienced weird issues with this board. I noticed that when I laid the computer case on its side and the motherboard was horizontal the computer issues would subside to some degree.. I thought maybe the CPU was poorly seated which was not the case. Both boards that went bad would fail to work if in a vertical position but would work if laid horizontal. So I'm not sure if there is a cracked trace or bad seat on one of the components of the board. Either way both experienced exact problems and when replaced the problems disappeared. I contacted MSI and the tech seemed at a loss for words... other than RMA it.

1 out of 5 eggsReally bad!

Pros: Nothing - they sell me a defective Motherboard and then refuse to RMA it. I have been waiting weeks and still no ETA.

Cons: Defective board - and can' get them to RMA another board to me. They told me they never received the board even though they, themselves acknowledged to me in an e-mail that they had received it and I had tracking proving they did. Now they admit they did receive it but can't tell me if I will ever get a replacement board. Really great service!!!!! NOT!!!!

Other Thoughts: I sent my first board into them because of a defective memory slot. I've now been waiting weeks and have no ETA on when they will replace the board. I called MSI in California and they told me it could be weeks longer and if they find that I did anything to the board - they won't replace it. (Sounds like they always find an excuse not to replace their boards)

I will never buy another MSI product again after their poor service to me.

3 out of 5 eggsNot Impressed

Pros: The price

Cons: didn't work. claims to be becompatible with Trinity CPU's but is not, probably needs BIOS update which I don't have a different fm2 cpu to do that with.

Other Thoughts: I bought this mobo, it wouldn't POST. So I had the MoBo replaced. Still wouldn't POST so I had the CPU replaced and it still wouldn't POST so I had the MoBo replaced AGAIN and it still wouldn't POST so I'm trying to get a refund and they lost the manual and driver cd, that no one actually uses, so they won't refund me.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issues that you are having with this product.
Trinity is first generation of FM2 processors therefore they are 100% guaranteed to work right out of box.
Richland processors requires boards shipped after June 2013 to receive support, however all of the boards that circulated in the market now should be able to handle the processors without any issues.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Windows 7 64 bit works wonderfully with bios 11.1. I have no intentions of reflashing bios unless its totally recommended.

Cons: Windows 8 support... Not that I found.. I installed 8, and everytime would power up, it would have to be repaired with the install disk to get it to bood,. Minus one egg for that... But 7 is flawless.

2 out of 5 eggsFirst board defective

Pros: Inexpensive - has HDMI output and makes for a potentially affordable and decent HTPC build. Good audio output options for HDMI audio output. (Up to 24 bit 192khz)

Cons: Very few overclocking options in bios. No USB 3 support. First memory slot died within the first year on my motherboard. I hate the UEFI bios - please go back to regular bios! You could find yourself in a situation where you need a Trinity APU to install bios to support a Richland processor! (If you get an earlier manufactured board)

Other Thoughts: I purchased this MOBO as part of a low cost build from Newegg. The board worked fine until I upgraded from a Trinity APU to a Richland and faster RAM. I was fortunate to have a Trinity APU on hand or I woldn't have been able to update the bios without it. Everything ran fine with my Richland APU and faster memory for about four months and then, all of a sudden, it failed to recognize the memory in the first slot. After diagnostics, I confirmed a defecctive motherboard. I guess you get what you pay for - but I am dissapointed in MSI quality. I decided to purchase another one and then RMA the defective board since the machine I have currently still works. Even so - now I've paid double in order to replace this defective board plus all of my lost time - so this hasn't been a very good value. It will be my last MSI purchase. I hope the next board will be better than the first board I got.

4 out of 5 eggsMostly good

Pros: Works well for my A6-5400k office pc. Cheap.

Cons: The CPU fan speed controller on my board emits a chirping/whistling noise which gets louder the lower I set the minimum fan speed. At 25% fan speed the chirping is audible and annoying. I can increase the fan speed to reduce the chirping but this, of course, makes the CPU fan louder. Setting the fan speed at 50% made both noises quiet enough for office use but I still would rather use the 25% setting.
