5 out of 5 eggsBIOS update

Pros: been using for a couple of months and no problems; wanted sata III (for ssd mostly) and wanted usb 3.0, which is why I got the A75 as opposed to the A-55 (had to add a hyphen because of inappropriateness)

Cons: making sure the APU and cooler/fan are working as they should has been a bit mystifying running Windows 7 and Xubuntu 13.10, but not sure if this is because of the motherboard or AMD or my ignorance, so no egg dropping

Other Thoughts: APU - A8-5600K
Windows 7 professional
The system runs well but I wanted to benchmark it. Windows Experience Index was 4.8 for graphics. Cinebench OpenGL test was low - 18.23. After doing a BIOS update from version 2.2 to 2.3 the scores went up - 6.7 WEI and 29.60 Cinebench. Don't really notice any difference in everyday use, but I recommend flashing the BIOS, at least with the A8-5600K APU.

5 out of 5 eggsOne Year old and Richland

Pros: Four stars for performance and price.

I am RIchland on this one year old board. I am bragging as I had the old time getting the Richland in. The Trinity was cool but I saw the other Trinity dual-core platform looking for a quad AND I wanted the hottest FM2 for me and Saints Row IV.

There can be no better Tower Rig in the world for the money. I also got GeIL up to 1900 or so leaving the 2133 as overhead for TURBO.

These clocks are so EZ and cool this has to be the future.

Cons: See MSI tell you this older model needs a Trinity CPU to flash to the Richland....There is a new version so not an issue.

Other Thoughts: These 4.0+ clocks and 30C temps.....what is not to like.

Graphics looks good. Not all the eyecandy of a HD7970 Ghz 3MB XFX I got with a i7n 3930. BUT I can see swapping out of IGD.

BUT you are good to go with a 400-450w PSU with IGD.

5 out of 5 eggsLinux friendly.

Pros: I use this board to run a CentOS Server. BIOS allows you to EASILY switch any bootable device (USB, hard drives, DVD/CD) between "legacy boot" mode and (ahem) "Windows Monopoly-Preservation Boot". For me, this was a required feature.

Board is low-cost, the layout is very clean, and it runs flawlessly so far.

I'm using DDR3-1600, although it does support faster memory. WD 'black' hard drive. PSU is high-quality, active PFC. new 'Trinity' A6. My system load is relatively low, and I hardly ever use graphical desktop. (Unless using GUI update tools and Server controller programs, I set runlevel=3.) I don't use any overclocking, because it's a 24x7 Server.

Obviously, I'm not any sort of "stress test" configuration. But everything has been great so far. I typically have it running for 1-3 weeks at a time.

Cons: none so far.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: None

Cons: Never got the motherboard to post. DOA.

Other Thoughts: Based on the suggestion of MSI support, RMA'd since it was a brand new purchase. Based on the support received from Newegg to figure why my replacement RMA turned into a refund RMA, will be hesitant to purchase from again.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Built for a local car shop to store invoices.

Stable under stock clocks and voltages

detects ram and cpu settings properly.

Cons: MSI bios for their low end boards always annoy me and seem to lack in features that other brands would have at the same price point.

Other Thoughts: Overall I am satisfied. No weird coil noises or stability issues noticed. Would buy again if the price was the best in town.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard, Excellent value.

Pros: -All solid caps.
-No issues during setup
-USB 3.0
-Seems to be high-quality

Used with an A10 6700 and it worked great with absolutely no issues. Up-to-date drivers were easy to find on the MSI website. Everything seems fully functional and it has given no issues at all as of yet. Great low-cost, high-quality motherboard.

Cons: -Only 2 RAM slots

No real cons that come to mind. I wish it had 4 RAM slots, but I knew it had 2 going in. For the price, I certainly can't complain.

Other Thoughts: Great value! As with any motherboard, I recommend going to the manufacturer website and getting the most up to date drivers rather than using the CD that comes with it.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: None

Cons: DOA

Other Thoughts: Ordered it a month ago but waited until yesterday to install it. Had the same no POST / no video problems that have been mentioned in many of the reviews. After much research on this board after the fact, I chose poorly. Went through all the troubleshooting steps, nothing worked. Swapped with a Gigabyte MB and everything worked nicely. I probably will not even RMA it and just eat the $58 because I don't want another one.

5 out of 5 eggsMSI FM2 Mainboard

Pros: I haven't had this mainboard very long and it was selected for a customer's build. It features all solid caps, although I don't believe this equates to great reliability. I have an old Pentium 3 Abit mainboard that still boots up and works, and those caps are from 1999. An old Biostar workstation board from 2005 still works too. At least solid caps look pretty.

What is nice is the ability to adjust BIOS settings from within Windows and the overall build quality of the board. All the solder points are solid and the PCB isn't flimsy, which is unusual on mainboards at this price. It also has 6 SATA connectors and a floppy connector, Gigabit LAN, and all the connections you need for 8.1 surround sound in the back using either HDMI or the old plugs.

It supports a 100w FM2 A8 chip just fine and the Crucial DDR3 I selected was auto detected immediately with correct timings and voltage.

Both the onboard APU graphics and a discreet addon graphics card work well.

It has a couple of USB 3.0 ports in the back and plenty of USB 2.0 connectors. It even includes a single PS/2 port for older keyboard or for troublshooting USB problems.

Works just find with the included MSI software or AMD Overdrive.

Cons: The reviews posted after I made the purchase that report tons of problems related to APU video and/or memory issues is disturbing. That and suddenly the board isn't available for purchase any longer.

Long video cards may block some of the SATA ports.

MSI really needs to silk screen the Power, Reset, HDD LED, and so forth on their mainboards... ya know, like everyone else.

Other Thoughts: Mainboard shipped with 2.2 BIOS and upgrading to 2.3 BIOS occurred without issue. I tested the board as thoroughly as possible within the few days I had before delivery of the completed PC and didn't run into any issues.
