2 out of 5 eggskilled my computer

Pros: This MOBO is cheap. And for the price, you get a pretty decent bang for your buck. However...

Cons: ...After only about a year of using it, it died on me and in the worst possible time.

Other Thoughts: I was in the middle of crunch time for a freelance project (I am a father doing freelance full time) and this was my first major client. With the deadline fast only a few hours away, I was happy that I would make it on time, until... you guessed it. My computer crashed and never came back up. After much research on a slow spare laptop, I found out that the problem was this MOBO. I had such high hopes for it, but alas, it was not meant to be. I woudn't mind using it again if there was less risk for failure.

1 out of 5 eggsLoose as a goose and DIY friendly

Pros: Cheap, that's about it.

Cons: Pins are bare to the board w/o any real connector securing for the box connectors. Hence you have very loose connections to MOBO.
PCI 3.0 16 slots not easy to put graphics card in. I gave up and am using just MOBO graphics.
Not very well laid out nor are the instructions very good.
Will stick with a other brands of MOBOs next time.
Stuck with it now.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat mobo

Pros: Quick and easy to set up. Running AMD GPU along with Intel HD both working together fine.
USB 3.0 nice to have.

Cons: Only 2 4 pin fan headers. Might be a problem if you have a case with many fans and are looking for quiet cooling.

Other Thoughts: Overall happy with this purchase. I would recommend this board especially for people on a budget.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Board But DOA

Pros: >You don't need to update your BIOS for most GPUs & LGA 1155 CPUs (if any).
>USB 3.0 Connecter if your case has 3.0 ports.
>USB pins that have USB on them (three or four)
>4x RAM slots

Cons: It came DOA, simply as that. I can't think of anything else that could be a con since I didn't own it long enough to find anything else.

Other Thoughts: Once I get this RMA'd and hopefully not another DOA, I'll be very glad.

4 out of 5 eggsInitial review, pretty good

Pros: Bought this from a competitor, better price at the time and first PC component not purchased from Newegg in awhile.

This is my first MSI board, possibly ever. Bought it with a Intel G2020 process, and G-Skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL (bought here).

I noticed the board specs have an * by anything greater than 1333 memory and it qualifies that with a 22nm CPU. The G2020 is a 22nm CPU. I have run the OC genie and from everything I can see the memory is still running at 1333 and not 1600. There is a place to enable or disable XMP, when enabled, it shows me the correct memory, but it appears it is still running it at 1333. Not a big deal to me, it wasn't meant to be an over clocked speed deamon. That memory was on shell shocker and cheaper than anything else out there when I bought.

The board layout works for me, koodos to the fan connectors. For a cheap board, it has 4 and all were in a good location.

Currently running off integrated Intel Graphics of CPU, fired up first time, zero issues with Win 7 Prop install even though I knew the 1 TB Seagate I was using at this time is a failing drive (WHS 2011 told me so, and apparently Win 7 Pro concurs...)

Cons: Why can't I get 1600 out of my 1600 ram?

Other Thoughts: Learned something new. Installed the Intel USB 3.0 drivers, hooked up the WD passport drive, nothing... There was one device left in the device manager without a driver, had no idea what it was so I let windows search online. It installed Intel Smart connect, after which the USB 3.0 ports worked.

Bios splash screen stays up for about a nano second. It's not so much that this is an ultra fast bootup board, it just flashes that really fast. Prior to the splash screen is a blank screen with a B4 and an A2 alternating in the lower right hand corner of the screen for a couple of seconds (have no idea...)

For it's intended purpose and the well under 100 price tag I paid, it's a great board.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

To answer your questions, the G2020 processor's IMC (Integrated Memory Controller) can only support memory speeds up to 1333MHz, see below for Intel official specification.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good motherboard, would recommend

Pros: I have had this motherboard for about 4 months now, and in that time, it has proved to be a stable motherboard with good expandability. No major problems, I am very happy with it.

Cons: No true overclocking ability. You can adjust the clock multiplier, but not the voltages. I knew this when I bought it, but I'll say it anyway.

I am using a CM Hyper 212 EVO (probably overkill for my CPU/MOBO combination, but I digress) and the proximity of RAM slots to CPU socket makes installing a larger CPU cooler a little cramped. Once installed, however, they don't interfere with each other. I have pretty big hands, so it may not be a problem for others.

Occasionally, Windows fails to start. I do not know whether or not it is the motherboards fault. A simple restart always fixes it, and it has never caused any data corruption or loss.

Other Thoughts: I feel like calling it a ZH77 is rather misleading, but it is still a good board. If you are building a computer for the first time, or building on a lower budget, I would recommend this.

4 out of 5 eggsgood board

Pros: Nice looking board! pretty solid. Functions really well and the BIOS is really easy and straight forward. This being my first build I am glad i went with this one since it does make it pretty simple. good buy and i highly recommend

Cons: I had to spend a lot of time updating drivers and re downloading things to get it all ironed out. I don't really know if it was my fault or common as this was my first real computer build but once i down loaded and updated it all works awesome!

Other Thoughts: would buy again
