5 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: Super easy setup, very nice looking with the red matched my ripjaws perfectly! Great price, Have had it for about 8 months with no issues, very easy to use.

Cons: Worst thing for me is that it doesn't support dolby digital live, I eventually bought a sound card for $100 which sounds real crisp. The sound for the motherboard is fine, works with most headsets, but I bought the Astro A50 and had to get a soundcard to make the surround sound sound like surround sound... other than that it's a good buy, if you have a little extra there's probably better options..

Other Thoughts: Running smooth after 8 months, running it with a GTX 770 and an i5 4670k, looking to buy another 770 soon..

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy MSI

Pros: Worked for awhile.

Cons: Died after two months. Would not post at all. I sent the board back using the RMA services with 3 day delivery. It took them five days to send me an email saying they got it.

It was then over a week until I heard back from them again. They did not tell me if it was fixed or if I'll be getting a new one. They just sent me a shipping number. They also picked the slowest shipping possible. After it's all said and done, MSI would have had my mobo for over three weeks.

I would not recommend any MSI product to anyone after this. Oh and I had to pay for the shipping, which is icing on the cake.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issues that you are having with this product.

It's stated clearly in our RMA term and conditions that the turn-around time is about one to two weeks, and you are responsible for one-way shipping since it's an industry standard.
Your board was replaced in two days and it's already on its way back to you.

1 out of 5 eggsBurned

Pros: Fast processing with 2133 ram and an i5.

Cons: Open Box sold as new, usb controller laggy and slow, killer nic compatibility issues with linux. Bios corrupted trying to transfer files to my phone... I am done. Worthless trying to play games on this thing, got network lag and USB lag that puts me almost 2 seconds behind.

Other Thoughts: It will look nice hanging on my wall, till I decide to burn it.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic

Pros: Affordable. Lots of great features. Fast, wicked easy set up.

Cons: Used the MSI update tool (from their website) to update my system... then it complained there was no valid driver for the NIC and wouldn't let me install a new one. Removed NIC from device manager, rebooted, redetected card, installed latest driver. Works, but it now has a funky card name (but it did detect it as a generic Qualcomm card during set up).

Other Thoughts: This is my first MSI board. I typically have used EVGA or ASUS boards. However, this board is beautiful and the set up was the easiest I've ever had when building a new rig. Definitely recommend.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent board

Pros: The board looks great and has all the features I wanted. That's why I bought it.

Cons: The worrisome thing though is the NIC.

I installed the motherboard and got everything up and running and when I went to install the drivers it claimed that I had to manually uninstall the old ones. I did so and then the thing started saying that I didn't have the darn NIC at all. That there wasn't one in my computer!

Being kind of mad but thinking it might be a glitch I just tried to reinstall the old drivers from the MOBO disc. And it said I didn't have an NIC on the board. Very angry now, but it's past 1:00 am and I'm probably not going to get someone on the phone who I can talk to, I just take a deep breath, restart the BRAND NEW BUILD and think of the reviews I had read on here.

Getting angrier I start the computer again and try the mobo disc again. This time it works. I'm not sure if it's the actual hardware or the software that put me though that but I'm not updating drivers right now. It can use the old ones just fine for now since apparently updating them will cause the thing to not function.

Not cool.

Other Thoughts: I'm a little wary of this board now. Maybe it's just the software though so I'm willing to give it a pass for the time being.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat with no issues

Pros: Ive had this board for 6 months and have had no issues with it at all. The gui bios is nice to have, sata plugs are on the side of the board which is great if you have a long video card.

Cons: n/a

Other Thoughts: Killer nic is gimmicky, as is the 2 gaming optimized usb ports

2 out of 5 eggsNot so great

Pros: It worked as advertised for 4 months.

Cons: The Killer NIC,which was a major reason that I bought it, didnt really do much.

The BIG fail is that the LAN port/Killer NIC port, is no longer recognized by windows. Its gone. ie:Broken.

the MSI motherboard failed after 4 months, I've never had a problem with any other motherboards, after 16 years of building them.

The LAN port is gone, I';ve removed CMOS, i've downloaded every file and driver, I've deleted network adapters, etc etc.. Lan Port No Longer Exists.

I have read that this is a problem, that happens with this board. I didnt know this until AFTER I had bought the board.

Other Thoughts: The board may or may not last long for you, for me it was 4 months. If i was to RMA it, it is 5-15 business days after THEY receive it, approx. Or I can buy a new board from a different manufacturer. So 4 weeks without my computer (home/rig) and then 'who knows' what the company will find.

Or spend another 150$ with shipping for a brand new board.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat broad except for the NIC

Pros: Plenty of room for expansion, well-built, easy to install. Pretty much no issues several months after purchase.

Cons: My only issue with this board was the integrated NIC, or rather, the drivers I had to install for them. To get one of my online games to run (iRacing) I had to find a hidden XML file and add the game's executable to it for the driver software to allow it, and even then I'd randomly lose my connection. Went out and bought a wireless USB adapter and I run off of that now.

At first the motherboard wouldn't boot when I tried to dual channel my RAM. When I chose not to dual channel it booted fine. I haven't missed with the BIOS to see if I can dual-channel.

Other Thoughts: My build:
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G45 Gaming LGA 1155 Intel Z77
Processor: Intel Core i7-3770 Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz
Graphics Card: MSI N660 TF 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 660
Power Supply: Rosewill Green Series RG630-S12 630W
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM
Hard Drive: Western Digital WD Blue WD3200AAKX 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache

I primarily run racing sims and this build gives me more than enough power, and overall I'd recommend this board.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Motherboard

Pros: BIOS Super easy to use.
Overclocking is simple.
Recognized all my hardware right away.
Price.

Cons: The only con, some of the drivers and features installed off the disc that comes with the motherboard caused my computer to get a bluescreen error reading "Drivers less than or equal to IQRL" and between updating the drivers manually via the MSI site for this product, and removing some of the features like WINKI that came with the board, the crashes are far less frequent. Hopefully I fixed it but any feedback from MSI would be appreciated in this. Windows 7 was a clean install.

Other Thoughts: Runs really stable excluding the driver issue I have run into. Stays cool as well.
