5 out of 5 eggsStable And Fast So Far

Pros: Haswell refresh compatible, 4 dual channel DIMMs, and an easy to use UEFI (BIOS).

Cons: None as of yet.

Other Thoughts: Bought this for a budget editing/gaming rig I'm building. Currently, I'm waiting on my i7 4790 to come so I slotted a celeron G1840 in it for the time being. Running Mint Cinnamon 17, the thing out preforms my current i3 2120 build. I've had this MoBo up and running for two weeks and everything seems very stable. I will update if anything changes.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Installed motherboard as a replacement to a failed ASUS board in my HTCP. Clean installed Windows 7, put my tuner card in, and set up Windows Media Center. Everything went flawlessly. The Processor I got (Intel i3-4130T) is surprisingly responsive, and the SSD makes this system VERY pleasant to use. Have not had a single problem with this setup in several weeks now. HDMI passes audio just fine to the TV. Having issues getting Windows to see my 5.1 surround on the optical audio. I think that's a limitation of Windows or the optical cable, or something. I don't know. BUT: Windows Media Center DOES see the 5.1 audio, and when playing a DVD, I can definitely tell that the 5.1 is working.
The NIC has good performance. I copied the backups of my TV shows at about 115 MB/s solid for 35 minutes; not a single hiccup. Sometimes the onboard NIC won't give you the same performance as a dedicated one on some system, but this NIC is good quality.
High quality solid state capacitors on the board make me feel like this board will be solid as a rock for at least a decade. The GUI bios is sort of interesting. It would not detect my wireless Logitech keyboard/touch pad at first, but after I updated the bios and set up all the bios options using a wired USB keyboard, the Logitech one detected perfectly and works great.
There are a LOT of overclocking options on there that I'm sure I could take advantage of, but I'm most interested in the fan speed controls that let this system run SILENTLY. I can't overclock with my fans set to 30% speed, but my aftermarket CPU cooler (Zalman CNPS2X) says it can handle up to 120 Watts, and my CPU is only 35 Watts. So, 30% is just about right to keep it at 40C under full load for hours transcoding recorded TV to burn to DVD.
I was slightly worried that their website recommended checking the memory compatibility list, but I couldn't find said list. For the record, the G.Skill F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ works perfectly, and I enabled XMP mode, and it is running rock solid on Memtest x86+ for 24 hours.
I love the low power consumption, now noise, stable operation of this system. It is going to last me for years; Probably longer than the secondary mechanical HDD will last (the one I use for Recorded TV directory).

Cons: Well, the form factor is exactly as listed on the product description, but my HTPC case (nMEDIA HTPC 1000B) is a little cramped for this to install. The SATA3 ports were facing outward along the board, sort of sideways, and with the fan and case brackets it is impossible to connect/disconnect the cables unless I take the entire drive mounting bay out of the case. This is really not the motherboard's fault, and I can work around it just fine, but I thought I should mention it for others who may not have the room or ability to move case components to reach the cables.
The included SATA3 cables were not very long. They reached where I needed them, barely, but if this is going in a traditional tower, make sure you order an extra cable or two if you have a DVD/BluRay drive in the top bay.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this is a nice board with lots of great features. I like the HDMI and optical audio ports, + the 2 PCI-e slots let me connect both of my HD CableCard tuners in the same box. Shop around and you'll find a distinct shortage of good Micro-ATX motherboards that offer all of these features, especially at this price point!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: Bought the original no Raid0 version of this motherboard and boy was that a mistake I had to return it to pick up something that was more in line with my customers build.

I have not used the board for overclocking but it is fully capable. Voltages have been tested and proven stable, I have managed to actually undervolt the CPU and the board as well as the chip are both running stable.

Overall this is a great purchase and at a great price

Cons: No cons for me

Other Thoughts: Just remember to check the extreme details of what you are buying MSI likes to shout SUPER RAID without some boards being Raid enabled but this board is not one of them. Buy with confidence!
