3 out of 5 eggsDIMM hardware crummy

Pros: Good support for Ivy Bridge, includes a header cable for parallel port.

Cons: Memory DIMM latches are cheap. The sockets are okay, but the latches are molded levers that are prone to break the first time you touch them. No problem installing memory, but once it is in it is best left there.

Other Thoughts: Bought this for an inexpensive build, and have only bench tested at this time. The board picked up Intel G2030 Pentium dual core and Micron 4GB DDR3 kit without a problem. The on-board graphics works fine, but I plan to install a discrete graphics card to maximize memory for the OS. I didn't encounter any surprises other than the memory DIMM socket hardware - just be aware this is a potential problem if one plans on changing memory configurations. I was deciding between this board and a competing Gigabyte board with the Intel B75 chipset, and chose this one for the included parallel port cable (old LaserJets never die). If this doesn't appeal to you, I would favor the Gigabyte board for one dollar difference.

2 out of 5 eggsThey refunded it.

Pros: Cheap. Every worked some of the time.

Cons: My first board had peripherals going in and out, particularly the SATA and USB devices. I got a replacement, and the second board did the same thing. I troubleshot every piece of hardware on my previous working rig, and could find nothing else wrong.

4 out of 5 eggsGood small motherboard

Pros: This motherboard will take some great processors. It is small and can be used to build a decent rig.

Cons: The size prevents this from being too expandable. Having a single graphics card is fine for me, but some may want to run an SLI setup and run into problems. Also, there is only 1 6GB/s SATA port is a bit disappointing.

Other Thoughts: Overall a fine board for building a not too intense computer. Had I known what I know now, I may have looked for something that is easier to upgrade in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsNo TPM support, despite claims

Pros: Very good overall
Reasonable price
Worked fine with Xeon E3-1240 V2 CPU (needed video card of course)

Cons: Specs say TPM support, called MSI and bought the recommended TPM chip from MSI. Installed MSI TPM on MSI MB. There was no way to activate it in settings. Called MSI Tech support and they agreed there was no TPM support in BIOS. They promised to call me back in 24 hours. That was 3 weeks ago. Maybe a future version of bios will address this issue. I did check to make sure the board came with latest available BIOS.

Other Thoughts: TPM is required to use bitlocker properly. One of the reasons I chose this board, but not enough of a dealbreaker to disassemble the build and return it. Otherwise a nice fast system.

5 out of 5 eggsAffordable and works extremely well

Pros: Great price, works as well as any high end, higher priced motherboard, and fits easily into most mid-tower cases. The features and inputs will definitely fulfill the needs of most desktop setups, unless you're one of the hardcore PC enthusiasts.

Cons: None that I can honestly think of.......except, i wish there were more USB 3.0 ports, lol

Other Thoughts: I actually purchased this to replace a motherboard that came standard in a refurbished, high end Dell XPS 8500 desktop that I purchased. Initially, the desktop came with an AMD HD7770 2GB video card, which I wanted to replace. When I tried carefully taking it out, it ended up pulling the PCI-E slot off the original motherboard, and bending the pins underneath, which pretty much ruined things. It appeared as if that card was forced into that slot, when the system was put together, which led to the initial incident. However, this motherboard (and an OC nVidia GTX 760 2GB video card) has been a lifesaver, and the performance has been better than ever. Thanks to Newegg and MSI, my desktop is back up and running at full flight.

5 out of 5 eggsMSI strong

Pros: MSI, I-5 compatible, software, drivers, size

Cons: n/a

Other Thoughts: This thing fit nicely to be used for a gaming rig. It really was nice, and the new bios is nice too. The software that came with it was perfect too. Can't go wrong with this motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsgood deal

Pros: Great stable board at a good price. It was what I needed to make a small but powerful computer.

Cons: Lacks more 6GB SATA ports.

Other Thoughts: USB3.0, PIC-e 3.0 what else do you need.

3 out of 5 eggsUm, ok first MSI

Pros: So far, it's here! :-)

Cons: Just got it and haven't installed yet; due to no stand-offs and hardware. I've had all types of MBs and this is the first MSI - so far a little disappointed.
I may change rating once I get her up and going though.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Hardware

Pros: Offers exactly as advertised. Nothing flashy but very functional and no issues thus far. Very happy with this piece.

Cons: Honestly cannot expect more from this board for this price.

Other Thoughts: Not a super high end board but will support enough hardware to make a highish end gaming pc. My friend bricked an older board of the same form factor in his Dell and I swapped everything out for him. Worked perfectly on first boot.
