5 out of 5 eggsGreat budget board

Pros: A great little board for budget builds. If you don't need features like HDMI or Display Port or optical audio output then this board is amazing value for work and gaming PCs.

Cons: There are really only two cons:

1. There is very little documentation so first time builders may need to online community help in getting everything configured.

2. The USB headers on the board are USB2 only. There is a v2 of this product that fixes that but that was not a problem in my case as I recycled an old case with only USB2 ports anyway.

Other Thoughts: I combined this board with a Haswell G3220 and 4Gb of RAM to upgrade an existing system and the results were astonishing. For everyday work usage it has all the power you'll ever need and as a bonus the total system power consumption has dropped to around 40W in typical usage. Not bad for a $160 upgrade.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks well but be carefull with updated usb 3.0 drivers for windows 7

Pros: Price. I got it with an offer for a good price
Works well for the price (with discounts, not worth the full price in my opinion)

Cons: USB 3.0 updated drivers from the MSI website for windows 7 cause a problem where a window prompting you to run the drivers appears always at start up. If you choose the option in the window to always run the program and not bother you it will cause a problem when installing games, this makes no sense whatsoever so it was hard to figure out that those drivers were the problem. That problem is not present in windows 8 because of the native usb 3.0 support, there is also no problem with installing the drivers from MSI disk.
Doubtful fulfilment of warranties. MSI didn´t approve my rebate because I submitted the package slip copy instead of the invoice copy requested, the email claimed to give me 30 days to resubmit with the invoice copy, I did and now they claim I`m out of the promotion period!! This is my only MSI product but this gives me the impression that this company makes reclaiming a warranty for one of their products very difficult if not impossible.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, but not great

Pros: I like the size and construction of the board. In contrast to many motherboards in this price range, this board is fairly sturdy and holds up well. Very clean design, everything is labelled for an extremely simple install.

Cons: The USB headers on the one I purchased are flawed. The rear ports don't push enough power to support 5 devices, despite there being space for 6. I had to move my more power-hungry peripherals to the front header to make the system stable.

Other Thoughts: Overall I didn't have a terrible experience, but I was disappointed that this very small flaw fell through the cracks of quality control.

3 out of 5 eggsNot Bad for Under $50

Pros: Nice and small
Nice layout
UEFI is easy to use

Cons: NO USB 3.0 header on MB. I should have paid more attention since I bought a case with 3.0 ports. But, with USB 3.0 becoming more common, this should be a no-brainer.
The pinout diagram in the manual for case connections is odd.

Other Thoughts: This is the second MSI board that I have purchased recently, and I have been impressed with their layout, features, and UEFI.
For less than $50, this is a nice board for a HTPC, or a cheaper gaming PC.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic little workhorse

Pros: Price
Build quality!!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I got this along with a cheap Haswell Pentium chip to use as a private server and it's a speedy little bugger that is built amazingly well. I'm very happy with this board!

4 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: -Low price access to socket 1150
-The board is firm and durable and everything seems attached very well, nothing seems likely to break
-Very small
-Nice functional bios works the way you'd expect
-Appreciable layout considering size. No acts of finger contorting were necessary to build
-USB 3.0 ports

Cons: -No USB 3 headers on board for case ports.
-4 pin CPU power

Other Thoughts: This board is exactly what it says it is.
It's probably smaller than you think. I was amazed by how tiny it was.

If I ordered over again, I'd spend a little more to get a board with USB 3.0 headers and 8 pin CPU power

4 out of 5 eggsMSI H81M-P33

Pros: Affordable
6 usb ports
I don't mind the BIOS.
2 system fan connectors

Cons: Connections on the motherboard are poorly marked.
The instructions are also poor.

Other Thoughts: I want to be fair to this motherboard and be helpful for anyone considering it. If you're considering this board then you should know that it is a B81 micro atx board. It is not a full length motherboard and doesn't come with all the bells and whistles of a Z87 board. To my knowledge Intel has patched the ability to overclock outside of the Z87 line. So go ahead and ignore any overclocking ideas on this motherboard. With that being said it is a solid home office computer motherboard with a bunch of USB slots in the back and 2 more connectors for your case's front panel USB. It has 2 system fan headers so you do not have to have the front fan plugged into a molex and running at full speed. Instead both your fans will be controlled by the motherboard. It hasn't given me any trouble at all with blue screens or failing to POST. For 50 dollars I'm happy with it. Now the bad things about it. For a newer person building computers the connectors on the board are poorly labeled. If you aren't familiar with connectors you'll have a tough time. The box came with a quick start guide that is mediocre at best and references another manual that didn't seem to come in the box.

5 out of 5 eggsNo failures

Pros: I've built 14 systems using this motherboard. Had no failures or defects. It's a very tiny mobo but does the job. I've purchased MSI mobo's for years and trust them for reliability and endurance.

Cons: Would be nice to have more than one PCI Express slot.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat secret for budget gamers

Pros: Cheap - I got it for 39.99 - Probably would have paid more.
Overclocks like a champ. Easily pulls 5-7 more fps with the INCLUDED Asus overclocking software. The 25w power rating means less power draw and less heat. even pushed to the max w/ overclocking i never se my gpu core above 55C and this thing has no fan!

Cons: was cheaper when i bought it but considering its overclocking potential probably still worth it!

Other Thoughts: Asus is a quality brand. The heat sink is very elaborate and effective.
