1 out of 5 eggsFailed

Pros: Small, reasonably cheap

Cons: really was DOA but not used. I kept this board for a spare, however, when I finally needed it, it only starts POST but never completes. Resetting cmos didn't help.

Other Thoughts: Inexpensive board but DOA

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
Based on the symptom you reported, we suggest you checking following steps below since many reasons can cause the situation like this ,
1. Check and make sure that power are connected correctly and firmly (JPWR1 and JPRW2), clear cmos.
2. Check your other major hardware’s (memory, video card, CPU and power supply) to ensure that they are not the cause of the issue.
3. If you need further assistant, please feel free to contact our technical support department directly at 626.271.1004 from M to F, 6am to 6pm Pacific standard Time.

Best Regards,

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little MB

Pros: Has all the features I needed for my MATX APU (A8-5600k) build. I've had it precisely one year now, and have no real complaints.

Cons: If pressed, I'd say I would like to see more DIMM slots, but the board is small and space is tight, so... 16GB RAM is enough for me, anyway.

Other Thoughts: My setup with this MB:

16GB (2x8GB) Crucial Ballistix Sport
AMD A8-5600k APU
Zotac GT 740 LP 2GB video card (bought about 6 months after build - needed more video power than the APU could provide)
Cooler Master 212 EVO cpu cooler
1 PNY XLR8 240GB SSD (OS)
2 WD Blue 1TB HDDs (data)
Corsair CX750 PS

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little FM2 board

Pros: Bought 3 for a small office build. Working splendidly with some A4-6320 AMD APUs. Has everything I needed and more in a micro-ATX package.

Cons: None that I can personally attest to. Kinda funny to see pin-outs for serial and parallel ports but no IDE lol. Apparently can't update bios from windows but it is really easy to do from the bios itself with a thumb drive so not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: Got it on sale for $58 a piece. Heck of a deal. I hear these don't work that great with the new Kaveri APUs but its highly possible that got ironed out with a BIOS update.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Unbelievable Board

Pros: I have 36 years of tech experience - READ THIS! This is a great board Feature Rich! Use this board for EVERYTHING! (Well, except for crazy gamers, you know.). I have loaded Windows XP, Windows 7, Server 2008 and Server 2012 on this board. Works Great! 6 SATA-3 and RAID works, drivers for all OS's are available. Has a USB3 header for front panel, even has Parallel and Serial headers for older stuff! Has BOTH PS2 Ports! BIOS is fantastic, create your own settings and store on a thumb drive - QUICK&EASY!. Rock solid and FAST. 3 Video outputs all work. Gigabit NIC. (Can you tell I like this board?)

Cons: 3 little things -
1. If only it had an IDE connector it would be perfect. Oh well, close enough.
2. Don't leave on Windows 8 Fast Boot, as that makes it really hard to get back into the BIOS.
3. Can't get a USB Mouse to work in Windows XP - Detects, works for a few seconds and then stops. ONLY IN XP. Probably a software issue, will solve it later.

Other Thoughts: This is the most all-purpose board I have ever seen (again, except for high end gaming). I have literally bought 70 of them so far and no plans to stop. NOTE - IF YOU WANT A CHEAP WAY TO SET UP SERVER 2012 THIS IS THE WAY!
REBUTTAL SECTION : Whoever says the multiple video only works on HDMI/DVI combination is WRONG. I have it running HDMI/VGA on several systems, and have tested with all three. I don't care about overclocking, the idea that a board not overclocking is a reflection of the board is bunk. I also wouldn't blame a board if I broke something on it. We have assembled 60 of these with ZERO problems - In case I didn't mention it - This is a great board!

2 out of 5 eggsDefective audio

Pros: Lots of features and connections

Cons: Defective audio

Other Thoughts: Everything else worked fine but somehow audio made crackling sounds through speakers regardless of volume. Tried new driver and checked all connections. Finally returned and got the E45 instead, but same problem so returned again and got a Gbyte mobo and it worked fine.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Supports G.skill 2400 DDR (N82E16820231666) (for a single stick anyways) at 2400 spd. using the XMP settings in the Bios
Superior bios, you can even drop and drag drive icons to set the boot order.
Only needs a 4 pin MB connector from the power supply.

Designed for "mom" systems with simple sound, fewer USB3, and only 6 SATA6 port. <grin>

Pair it up with a fast A6-5400k and DDR3 2400 for a cheap effective windows 7 system upgrade for those old XP boxes that don't need to be XP.

Cons: Bought 3 of these, 1 had physical damage to the board (still in box, no shipping damage, this was original vendor issue). The damaged one would boot, but had no ethernet and wouldn't support the DDR2400 stick.

I need to RMA that board, but would have no issue with a good replacement.

Other Thoughts: The MSI E35 micro atx has 1 PCI-e 16x, 6 SATA6 ports, 2 USB3 ports
(and a header) and stereo sound.

The MSI E45 micro atx variant has 2 PCI-e 16x, 8 SATA ports and 4 USB3 ports + header for a reasonable amount more.

If you're on a dime or building for mom, the E35 is fine. For yourself or with any kind of upgrade plans, get the E45 variant.

I wouldn't run this without an SSD, even for mom. Buy a new 120GB ssd and reuse her old hard drive for extra space and someplace for backups of the ssd.

5 out of 5 eggsMSI A88XM-E35 FM2

Pros: Great blue theme, has two DDR3 RAM slots, Micro ATX, good IO, solid board, Supports over clocking, and one more thing THE BIOS ARE AMAZING! The bios are so easy to use, and are mouse controllable. Great budget board!

Cons: This isn't really a con, but the 2 SATA III cables were both right angled. (on one end)
Just something to keep in mind, but not a deal breaker, beacuse you can buy a SATA cable for $1 or less.

Other Thoughts: Buy this board, its a great board!

5 out of 5 eggsGood Good Good!

Pros: Small MoBo but is very good and very cheap also came with a free bf4 which is a huge plus

Cons: Only has 2 RAM slots

Other Thoughts: Was only going to put 2 sticks of 8GB RAM anyways so the 2 slots isnt really a problem
