5 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget Board

Pros: Picked this up cyber Monday for around fifty. Used it to build a computer for the wife's schooling. Wanted something that booted fast and launched apps fast for those last minute "I have a term paper due in 4 hours" situations.

Cons: Bios Update failed....completely. followed it by the book and it just couldn't do it. I even let it sit after it rebooted it self for an hour and a half to make sure.

Other Thoughts: Why still 5 eggs? The customer support that MSI provided was awesome. I submitted a query to tech support after registering the board on their site expected a response in the next few days, got a response in hours (even though I didn't check my e-mail for a few days). that didn't work so I submitted a RAM request, reason, bad flash. BAM! ticket number, sent it off and in less than a week got another board and its off and going again.

the system built was based around speed of booting and application startup. other parts aside from this Mobo is as follows.
AMD A8-6600K
16gb Gskill Ripjaws 667Mhz (4x4gb) @ 800Mhz
Sapphire Vapor X 5770
Crucial 240Gb MX500
OCZ StealthXstream 600W PSU
Bitfenix Prodigy M case

The ram, video card, and PSU were leftovers I had laying around, cpu, ssd, case and mobo were cyber Monday 2014 deals from various places.

pro tip, if your using a Bitfenix Prodigy M case, get a modular PSU

5 out of 5 eggsThis one works!

Pros: Got a Gigabyte Mobo to replace a defective Acer OEM mobo. It worked for less than a week and died. We found all the required features on this board: USB 3.0 expansion port, HDMI, VGA & DVI, 4x USB 3.0 rear I/O, etc.
And it still works after a month. Very satisfied overall!

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: If you don't know what to choose between Bolton D3 & D4:
The major differences are the D4 has more SATA ports and you could configure a RAID 5. The D3 is fine for most users who's needs are for browsing and multimedia applications. A serious gamer or designer would not opt for this type of processor anyway

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work with 860k

Pros: At least it is not broken.

Cons: Do not buy if planning to pair with a 860k. You will only get fan spin. The BIOS is not compatible. Even on the MSI website it says it is compatible but do not be fooled.

Other Thoughts: One eggs for at least working. As far as I'm concerned, the 860k is the only fm2/+ cpu that will not work in this motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsNice small board

Pros: I like this board. I had no issues with install.I used it in a home server running WHS 2011. I like the small micro ATX form factor. I have an SSD boot drive and a 2TB storage drive with 4 gigs of ram. I like the USB 3.0 and with build in video i needed no card for initial setup. I don't run the video just remote access in when need be. I bought it during Black Fridays sales at a good price,

Cons: none so far

5 out of 5 eggssaved my bacon

Pros: My MOBO was not DoA in fact this was my first build and I almost fried the whole thing... Yeah I mess up big on the USB. Lucky the board had over volt protection and as soon as I tried to boot her up she said nope gave me a quick error message so I could find the problem and powered down. The issue was easily corrected and I put windows 8.1 on there via USB and am happy to say that in three months my system has booted up and shut down in less than 5 seconds every time.

Cons: OCG doesn't seem to work with the my CPU

2 out of 5 eggsa APU board that cant allocate Ram...

Pros: well, its running. ill give it 2 eggs for booting right up, just one major flaw.....

Cons: Cannot allocate ram in bios on a APU a8-660... so basically for a board that says its for the apu market its junk, completely worthless for a apu build. for anything else other then that im sure its a solid little board, so id buy a cpu and a dedicated graphics card for this board if your gunna use it in a build, cause you wont be able to do much in the way of tweaking a a8-6600 at all. I have a a10-6800k in my other system on a biostar ta-970 and it runs very well and I can allocate ram on that, should have bought one of those, as it is now since I build this thing on a whim I suppose ill just buy a graphic's card for it, but I shouldn't have had to.

cant say much on build quality either, as I was re-routing some cables the neat little blue grasp for the usb 3 onboard plug desided to come off with the cord, didn't break or bend the pins so its working, but not something you like to see when your building anything that parts pull right off that should be attached :( It is working im writing this review on it, but very disappointed, was my xmas gift for myself for the rec room in the basement to play some ultra off ste@m in the basement. no allocated ram = very sub par performance on that benchmark :(

Other Thoughts: I suppose I just assumed that since it was a apu board id have no problems setting up the 8 gigs of Kingston ram for the apu, guess its a live and learn.

5 out of 5 eggsMSI Excellence

Pros: All went flawlessly. SATA 3, USB 3, always a plus for AMD.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Installed an AMD A-10-6800K, G.Skill DDR3 Value Ram (2x4gb), OCZ power supply, OCZ ARC 100 SSD 120gb, Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, without any hiccups.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Hardware, Lousy Software

Pros: Great hardware, 4 dimm slots, 3 fan headers, 4 USB 3.0's,
even a legacy PCI filling the 4th slot. Great full-featured layout for a mini-ATX.

Cons: Lousy Bios, Poor o/s Software, Worst manual ever, nothing is explained.

Other Thoughts: I prefer Bios tweeks to software solutions, and this board is not my friend, Ex. you can not set amount of dedicated video ram on an APU (you can with the ASRock).

APU SetUp Tips:
1. For ram faster than 1600, load XMP profiles.
2. We enabled Cool-n-Quiet, and Disabled Turbo,
no loss in performance, big savings in wattage.
3. Within the o/s, make sure all cores are "unparked", wow.
