3 out of 5 eggsRAM incompatability

Pros: Solid board. UEFI interface is easy to navigate. Updated BIOS without any issues. Provides PS/2 ports, great for people with older peripherals migrating from Windows XP.

Cons: RAM incompatibility. Over 2 dozen builds using AMD A6-5400K and G.Skill 8GB 1866MHz (F3-1866C9D-8GAB) memory and this board has caused me problems twice, both memory related. MSI's other versions, A78M-E35 and A88XM-E35 work fine.

However I noticed the issue could be memory side because I've noticed G.Skill using different color PCB on the exact same memory (F3-1866C9D-8GAB), the green PCB version would give me issues, whereas the black PCB version has been good so far. I'm guessing the green PCB version is old stock?

Other Thoughts: G.Skill should use a different model number if they're going to use different chips/PCB.

3 out of 5 eggsWin 8.0 nitemare

Pros: Lot's of bells and whistles. Easy OC in bios bumped my 3.7 to 4.0 ghz with one touch! No hick ups on Windows 7.

Cons: I have a volume license copy of W8.0 and have installed, tried to install it in this board maybe 4 out of 12 times. I stripped all the cards and add ons out, get the initial install done then it locks up after updates or installing the AMD drivers. I tried newer, older, just vga. Last time I had it running for months perfect then an older version of Easeus disk utility totally messed it up. It runs great if you can crack the code (and I am a very good computer tech) but if your wasting a license you will NOT be happy.

Other Thoughts: I originally purchased a GB GA-F2A55M-HD2. It loaded W8 flawlessly over 6-7 times. The drivers loaded perfect from the cd. I REALLY want to like this MSI motherboard but it's like a bad girlfriend.........

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Has 4 RAM ports, two PCI ports that are above 1.0, and a pretty easy to use BIOS menu.

Cons: I'm not 100% sure it still technically has a microATX form factor; the case I bought was specifically for microATX mobos and the board was right on the threshold of not fitting. Other than that though, it works great.

Other Thoughts: It didn't come with a mini speaker. That's not really a problem when the rig works fine.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board at a great price

Pros: This board had exactly what I needed and so far has been at the core of a very solid machine. Features aside, the board arrived and worked, and has continued to work without any issues. The stability is wonderful!

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I haven't any cons about this board. Please note that in order to have video you must either have a cpu with video on it or a separate video card.

5 out of 5 eggsGood board

Pros: Works well with 6000 series APU.
Worked well right out of the box, the UEFI bios works well.
Recognized my 1866 ram seeds right away.
3 year warranty is a nice touch for a sub $100.00 board
Didn't notice a difference between this or the 88 chipset version with what I use it for.
Temps stay cool.
Very stable

Cons: none so far.

Other Thoughts: I paired this with an AMD A8-6600K and 8 gigs of Kingston HyperX Fury. It ran right off the bat with very little tweaking needed.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: None

Cons: Arrived DOA. I have used MSI motherboards in the mid 90's with no issues. I was in a hurry to get this build done for a relative before I left on vacation and this MB let me down. Newegg was great with the RMA.

4 out of 5 eggsMSI A78M-E45 Mobo

Pros: Great price overall, great for budget builds

Versatile, packed with features and options

GUI BIOS

Cons: Not really interested in the regular PCI slot, but that doesn't make a difference considering the amount of other types of technology built on this board.

Other Thoughts: Great board for its price range under $80. Got this one on sale with a promo code for $57 w/ free shipping!

Very versatile board, packed with different options and features. The specs are great for the amount of different types of build routes you can do, especially on a budget.

BIOS - It makes it very easy to control fan speeds, over clock and keep track of specs. This is actually my first board with the GUI. Its very easy to navigate and I actually prefer this over using regular installed programs.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Pros: Wasn't DOA. Works well, and has some nice features.

Cons: After installing drivers from the disc, I noticed that there was an unknown USB device in the device manager. It was the Renesas USB 3.0 drivers that were missing. I browsed the disc and found the USB 3.0 Renesas drivers and now everything is working.
Also, this board natively will see up to DDR 1866. beyond that, you have to overclock, even though manual stated that this model sees DDR2300 natively. Wish I'd known that before I got 16 GB of DDR2300. I managed to overclock it to 1966 but still I'm losing speed.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully in future BIOS updates DDR2300 will be natively supported.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy this motherboard

Pros: Cons, and there are many, out way any pros. Can't believe I've wasted 15 hours trying to trouble shoot a new system with no progress. Tried to contact customer support online and by phone with no luck. I installed two hard drives in this system each loaded with Windows 7 pro 64 bit so I can switch boot drives and go in case of problems and had the same problem on both drives-everything looks good after OS install but once I install the chip set drivers the computer becomes unusable.

Cons: On board video doesn't work at all, No matter what settings you change in BIOS after driver install. So I bought PCI express 2.1 card and couldn't put it in 16X slot at bottom because the slot was so close to capacitors and other components.

Other Thoughts: Bought an ASUS board bare bones combo and got this piece of you know what. Advertising looks and sounds good but in the end just another poorly thought out Chinese piece of....
