Killer E2200 Game Networking

Kill Your Lag!

The Killer E2200 Intelligent Networking Platform is built for maximum networking performance for online games and high-quality streaming media. Featuring Advanced Stream Detect? Killer E2200 automatically detects and accelerates game traffic ahead of other network traffic for smoother, stutter-free in-game performance and the competitive edge. Through the detection and prioritization of gaming traffic you can finally fully utilize your network without fear of being kicked from an on-line game because of high ping. This enables true multi-tasking without manually enabling or disabling applications, updates and installations. Killer networking actually allows you to use your PC 24 hours a day.

USB Audio Power

USB Audio Power is a breakthrough in Home Theater Entertainment audio quality. Using an unique design, the USB ports onboard provide a TRUE 5V signal that doesn't drop when more devices are connected. This simply means better signal quality over USB, especially for devices that rely on a perfect signal, like USB DAC's as they rely on a perfect transmission of audio bits from the motherboard to the DAC. This also means that external low-noise power supplies are no longer essential for better audio quality as USB Audio Power is able to deliver an optimum USB signal.

  • Enhances USB Audio Quality
  • Stable 5V Power & Better Signal Transmission over USB

Audio Boost

Reward your ears with true quality. Get ready for ear-drum shattering sound, with MSI Audio Boost! With Audio Boost we're delivering the highest audio quality so you can enjoy crystal clear sound and music in games.

Because the complete audio circuitry is isolated from other features, you'll enjoy less interference and more stability.

The built-in headphone amplifier allows you to use studio-grade headgear and get the most amazing sound quality out of your gaming PC.

  • Studio level Integrated 600O Headphone amplifier
  • Gold-flashed audio jacks for pure audio signals
  • EMI shielded audio codec & amplifier

Hear your enemies perfectly, even on an ear-drum shattering battlefield. Thanks to Sound Blaster Cinema, you're getting amazing surround sound with just stereo headphones. Your most important gaming sound effects are reproduced crystal clear allowing you to focus on your game even during extremely long gaming sessions.

Powered by the SBX Pro Studio technologies, Sound Blaster Cinema enables you to clearly hear specific sounds in gaming environments, making your ears a decisive tool on the battlefield.

Gaming Device Port

You want more FPS, lower ping, but why use a pro-gaming mouse with old-fashioned standards? MSI Gaming Device Port is optimized for high polling rate mice (500 to 1000 Hz) which lowers your mouse's response time from 8 milliseconds to 1 millisecond! This gives a much smoother mouse response in games. The additional gold plating on the ports enhances the durability drastically and ensures your PS/2 and USB ports are always working when you ship out to a LAN party.

Gaming Benefits

5 out of 5 eggsMSI QUALITY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: This board fired right up and is typical of any MSI mobo I ever used. I am using a A10-7850 cpu, 16 gb 1866 ram, H60 cooler, r7 250 video card, 1000w psu. Fractal mini- tower, 1TB hybrid hdd, BD odd. System runs great . I like MSI products for their quality.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: This is the 7th MSI board i have built and am to the point of only using MSI in the future.

2 out of 5 eggsDisplayPort Problems

Pros: After reading a good review of this motherboard on Silent PC Review, I decided to make it the cornerstone of my new computer build. I bought this board together with an AMD A10-7850 APU, 2x8GB of G.Skill DDR3-2400 RAM, a Samsung 840 Pro SSD, a Zalman GoldRock 550W Power Supply, and a Nanoxia Deep Silence 4 case to assemble it in.
The computer does run nice and quiet, even using the stock AMD CPU fan, and I haven’t got the case enclosed yet. The board’s included ATX backplate is foam padded itself, which is a little luxury I didn’t expect. The included SATA cables are nice, but seeing as how they attach to the side and not straight out make them difficult to connect in this case. No matter, once assembled, it would all work out.
Combined with a Samsung UD590 4K monitor, I expected this board would allow me to do some good work, and also run a couple of simulation games like Civilization V and Banished for years to come. However, I ran into DisplayPort problems.

Cons: I bought the board with the idea that I would run it with a Samsung UD590 4K monitor over DisplayPort at 60Hz. The monitor is capable of running side by side HDMI inputs to simulate 4K @ 60hz, but why compromise? I did get it to run 4K over HDMI @ 30Hz, which is what HDMI v1.4 tops out at. I was able to get it to display over DVI and DSub at 1280x1024, but that’s not what I’m going for here.
I have not been been able to get any display signal out from the DisplayPort on the motherboard either directly to the Samsung UD590, or using a DisplayPort to DVI adapter, or using a DisplayPort to DSub adapter. Windows 8 detects the monitor on the other side, but will not show anything.
At first I thought I had a bad Samsung UD590 monitor, but when I went to return it, I asked the store if they would connect it up to a computer over DisplayPort to confirm my suspicions. The monitor displayed 3840x2160 @ 60Hz just fine, no problems. With a working monitor, and two DisplayPort adapters that work on another computer with DisplayPort out, I RMA’d the motherboard with NewEgg.
I got the replacement board in, and am having the exact same problems. It leads me to start questioning myself, but at the same time, it shouldn’t be this difficult just to get a monitor to display something over DisplayPort when the monitors and adapters work just fine with other computers over DisplayPort.

Other Thoughts: If I got the DisplayPort problem resolved, I'd be willing to rate 5 out of 5.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat!.... almost perfect

Pros: great board, runs great... only one design flaw

Cons: the USB 3 port sits too close to the usb 2.0 slot. the usb3 connector that came with my case is too big to fit in all the way because of this.

5 out of 5 eggsEverything you could ask for in a mATX form factor!

Pros: This board offers everything and the kitchen sink at an exceptionally attractive price point for the build quality and feature set. The target gaming audience is well served by Realtek's premium audio chipset in conjunction with MSI inclusions to improve the quality of output. The Killer NIC that is onboard is a big step up from the status-quo Realtek that is baked in to the majority of consumer-minded solutions.

The motherboard also has physical buttons and dip switches that provide the means for "set it and forget it" over clocking. I have opted not to use this, but played with the buttons and switches. The heatsink design for components on the board complements the system, and would encourage installation in a windowed case. All standard headers at the bottom of the case connected easily. Provisions exists for 2 case fans in addition to the CPU fan.

Adjusting the BIOS to read the XMP profile of the G.Skill DDR3-2133 memory was a pain-free endeavor and essentially optimized the stock configuration without having to manually adjust everything. Prior systems I've built in the past using MSI motherboards have been solid and reliable. They did a fantastic job on this motherboard and I'm expecting pain-free operation for years to come!

Cons: The only con I was able to find with this motherboard relates to the location of the 8-pin power connection. While flexibility to establish the connection will be dictated by the case and/or power supply being used, it would have been nice if MSI could have placed it on the side of the board. Very minor con.

Other Thoughts: I can't say enough good things about the product in general. It is, without a doubt, one of the cleaner motherboard layouts I've had the pleasure of building a system around. When paired with a case that contains provisions for cable management, you'll get a clean build with minimal planning due to the design choices. It may cost more than budget alternatives, but MSI did their homework on this one and the price premium for the upgraded components is well justified.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Entry Level Gaming Foundation

Pros: MSI is sometimes inspired!
> Very Attractively Done!
> Cool, affective heatsinks
> Nice, workable layout (depending on your chassis)
> Very Attractive, functional Bios Interface w/extras
> Completely stable with latest firmware
> OC Genie really does work nice for basic OCing
> Fine tune OCing is nicely supported
> Coolest case badge ever!
> Port Mount plate is the spungy foil kind (nice!)
> Extra SATA6 cables, high quality as well
Go to for a picture of a low profile ver.
> Classy, Elegant box & packaging
> Looks to be built for maximum durability

Cons: Hmm, let me think...
> Wish for more fan headers (has only 2)
> Cool Heatsinks are a little tall for low profile cooler
Neither of these is really a con in truth...

Other Thoughts: When MSI decides to do something cool & inspired, they do it up right! This is darn near Perfect for a mATX Gaming or Professional Workstation foundation or potent House Media Center... I have to say that I was a little disappointed in Asus' less than inspired, urine yellow, A88 lineup competing with this awesome MSI offering though I am glad to see MSI doing ideal like no one else.

Final thoughts: I know AMD seem quite behind Intel in the raw horse power arena but I still feel that AMD mixed with this lovely MSI A88XM Gaming mobo, at least 8GB of DDR3 2400 and a nice Corsair Neutron GTX SSD is a much better dollar value! Not to mention the fact that Intel has serious ethics issues when it comes to playing fair with AMD and NVidia - Not going to support That!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Has enough onboard headers and rear ports to not need add-on cards

Cons: headers ended up on top edge once installed, behind drive cage, making cable management and plugging in components hard, but that's probably just my SilverStone case

3 out of 5 eggsCrossfire. Really?

Pros: I have done a Hybrid Crossfire with the APU, A10 7850K. I used a Gigabyte Radeon R7 250 OC (GV-R725OC-1GI). It works. It would have been nice to have the option of eventually Crossfiring two discreet GPUs, but that is not possible with this board. See other reviewer that states the same.

Cons: "PCI-Express 3.0 slots, perfectly aligned and with enough space for an optimal airflow when using multiple graphics cards." That is a quote from MSI's site. It is simply not true. Lower PCI-Express 3.0 slot will not even take a true single slot card. Yes, I had one to try. It has nothing to do with the case having room. The slot is too close to the USB 3.0 and other connections directly below the slot. Zoom in on the board and you can see it for your self.

4 out of 5 eggsAmzing

Pros: Its a clean board, nicely packaged and makes you feel cool once you have it. The oc feature built on to the board is cool. My processor went from 3.7ghz to 4.3 so Im happy with it.

Cons: The cons I had was there are only three fan connectors on it one for the cpu and two case fans. Neither of my fan case connectors work upon delivery but I used molex so it didn't matter to me.

Other Thoughts: This other guy saying you cant fit two graphics cards is wrong, I had a cheap case and can easily fit two in the slot.
