4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It looks really nice inside of my black and red NZXT H440.

its pretty much as full featured as I would ever need it to be for a significantly lower proce than some of the high end Asus ROG boards or something like that.

This is my first board with USB 3 and Sata 6, as its been a while since my last upgrade, so those are really nice features to have.

The audio is actually noticably better than just typical cheap onboard audio. I thought that would just be a gimmick, but you really can hear a difference.

Cons: I really dont like the BIOS, or I should say, UEFI. I dont care for the way it looks mostly, but there are some bugs, like at the top of the BIOS screen, its got little symbols to indicate your boot order, and if you click one of them, sometimes the mouse will go all buggy and dart across the screen. Granted i use my keyboard to navigate the BIOS, b/c I am from a time not so long ago where that was the norm, but still worth mentioning.

The USB 3 connection is a right angle connection, which can look nice and keep things tidy, but due to the size of the usb connector, if it doesnt line up with a cable management hole in your case perfectly, (and in my case it doesnt) you have to find another way to manage the cable. I wouldnt let this scare you off from an otherwise really nice board, but just be mindful of that.

Other Thoughts: this is one of the better looking boards i have seen that isnt crazy expensive, and b/c of that, I was willing to pay more for this than for like a Gigabyte board or something that had more or less the same features. again though, the price really isnt that bad if you compare it to like and ROG board or something.

The OC genie is fun to play with for a minute, as I have never had any such a feature before, but if you want to overclock, please just do it yourself in the BIOS. if you dont know how, there are lots of sources on the internet to tell you what you want to know, and you can get a way better overclock that way. I played with OC genie for a while (I have an i5 4690k) and the overclocks work fine, they are stable, but I got OC genie to get it fo 4 GHz, (its pretty conservative, for stability reasons i guess) and while it worked, I noticed that it turned up the voltage a little more than I needed to in order to get the same clock speed manually. I dont remember the numbers, but i know it was negligable on such a modest overclock, but still, it can be done better, which also make me want to point out that my processor will turbo boost to 3.9GHz out of the box, and OC genie wont go past 4 without you doing it yourself in the sofware or something anyways, so there isnt much of a point to it from my perspective.

1 out of 5 eggssuper disappointed

Pros: good looking board

Cons: Dead On Arrival

Other Thoughts: ordered this thing on Dec. 12th with other things to build me a new PC. finally got the time to put it together Dec. 20th. turns out the board was dead and wouldn't even light up. tried 2 different PSU's...different memory...only had the one processor i bought (i7-4790k) that might would work with it, but no matter what I tried, nothing happened. board was dead...have and RMA in process now and have to wait a couple weeks on a new board to build my new PC....sigh

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
Based on the symptom you reported, we suggest you checking following steps below since many reasons can cause the situation like this ,
1. Check and make sure that power are connected correctly and firmly (JPWR1 and JPRW2).
2. Check your other major hardware’s (memory, video card, CPU and power supply) to ensure that they are not the cause of the issue.
3. If you need further assistant, please feel free to contact our technical support department directly at 626.271.1004 from M to F, 6am to 6pm Pacific standard Time.

Best Regards,

4 out of 5 eggsGood board

Pros: Board has a lot of functionality, good price. Guess
More to do with Intel then the board but my first true Intel build have a i5 4690k board and cpu stable at 4.4 didn't have to do a lot of voltage changes unlike with asus over clocking. Had to update bios first one didn't take had to use back up bios and transfer etc glad the board came as a 2 bios board otherwise it would be bricked so a con and a pro.

Cons: Well like others not the most update bios, almost killed board. Had pin issues been an amd guy used to having to comb cpu pins like odd doing mother board pins. Biggest con is I have an ssd as my os drive motherboard does not find it on first boot ever always have to do a reboot wants to load from and old hhd drive with Linux loaded.

Other Thoughts: All and all a great motherboard wish they would fix the bios flash issues. Maybe have some qc on the motherboard pins. The ssd issue I'm not sure maybe a bio update could fix this in the future not sure I want to do another updat at this time.
