1 out of 5 eggsFailed in 5 months

Pros: none

Cons: Motherboard died on me in less than 6 months, I wouldn't recommend it.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
Based on the symptom you reported, we suggest you checking following steps below since many reasons can cause the situation like this ,
1. Check and make sure that power are connected correctly and firmly (JPWR1 and JPRW2), and Clear the CMOS.
2. Check your other major hardware’s (memory, video card, CPU and power supply) to ensure that they are not the cause of the issue.
3. If you need further assistant, please feel free to contact our technical support department directly at 626.271.1004 from M to F, 6am to 6pm Pacific standard Time.

Best Regards,

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Cool looking, price seemed nice for feature set

Cons: I bought this board based on favorable reviews not only from the internet at large but from a friend who just built a machine with one and seemed to really like it.

Preface to the whining about to follow: I am not a super amazing technical master builder, but I have built quite a few machines and always do my own upgrading; I'm comfortable with it and have never had any disasters.

I assembled a new build with this board that was going to be a gift for someone; put it all together and independently decided I'd cheaped out too much on the case/PSU. When disassembling, I went to unseat the GPU with what I really didn't consider to be an excessive force ... but the entire PCIE slot just let loose of the board, bending the pins in the process. Inspecting the underside of the mobo, about half the pins holding down the plastic sockets themselves have no solder rings whatsoever holding them in. Removing cards from this board, if they're all like this, is iffy at best.

1 out of 5 eggsI WANT MY $$$ BACK!

Pros: Have yet to find one

Cons: CAN I GIVE THIS ZERO EGGS?!?!?!
What a hunk of junk! I HATE this motherboard and more importantly I HATE MSI and how they have treated me.
I bought this motherboard and installed Windows 7 on an SSD. After installing Windows and getting everything functioning properly I added a Seagate USB 3.0 hard drive for external backups. However, whenever that USB device is plugged in the computer will not boot up into Windows. It starts the boot process and you get the Windows splash screen and then it tries to go into repair mode and eventually you end up in the MSI EUFI boot shell. No matter what settings I choose in the BIOS to try and exclude the USB device from ever trying to boot I still experience the same results while the USB hard drive is plugged in. I even removed all of the partitions from the USB hard drive. Tried different formats other than NTFS. No change in behavior. Exasperated I finally called MSI support and let me just say I have NEVER been treated so badly on a tech support call. The tech refused to troubleshoot anything with me or even check to make sure all of the settings were correct. Within seconds of him answering the phone I was being verbally assaulted claiming there can be NOTHING wrong with their motherboard. I asked for a supervisor and was given the typical "my supervisor is not available at the moment" runaround.
I want my money back. I am sorely disappointed with MSI and how they treat their customers. I will never buy an MSI product again in my life unless they rectify this issue.
You know, I really do not want my money back... what I really, ultimately want is this to work. I had VERY high hopes for this system. Do you realize what a pain it is to unplug a USB hard drive EVERY time you want to reboot your computer? I just really wish somebody from MSI would work with me and find out what the real problem is.
If that were to happen I would remove this review and give it 5 eggs.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I love everything about this motherboard. Nice clean sleek design and the dragon is awesome :D love the bios setup. makes it easier for those whom have not overclocked before. Thanks MSI and Newegg. excellent service very fast shipping had all my components i ordered within two days. Amazing!!!!

Cons: Only one is I wish the Dragon on the motherboard lit up. Other than that there is nothing I can say bad about this motherboard especially for the price.

3 out of 5 eggsSound problem

Pros: Overall works well.

Cons: I am using the optical out to run my stereo system. I find that a loud 'hiss' sound comes and goes, usually in response to opening a program. If I mute the sound in windows the hiss disappears (so it is not an issue with ground loop hum after the optical signal gets to the stereo). I can only assume that there is crosstalk somewhere within the motherboard when certain drivers are being used, etc, since my last motherboard never did this.

5 out of 5 eggsgud

Pros: **Out of the box impression**
Manufactured very nicely, a very sturdy board that feels like it could take a beating and a half and still keep rolling.
Installation was a breeze and plugging was not an issue.
Many, many, many, many USB's in the io makes me very happy.

**Usage**
Bios are neat and tidy.
Haven't had any issues so far regarding manufacturing problems or errors.
Easy to keep cool with stock case fans.

Cons: None so far, absolutely love it!

Other Thoughts: Was a bit weary because friends have had problems with MSI in the past and when it came out last year I was a bit skeptical, what with it being my first build. But I must say, I am rather satisfied with my purchase!

5 out of 5 eggsgreat mobo

Pros: Super easy to install. No problems what so ever..

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Great mobo with easy to use bios interface.

Don't need to mess with bios at all unless your trying to overclock.. Don't overclock unless you do your research and know what your doing.. Super easy bios that makes it very easy to mess up your setup..

2 out of 5 eggsWhat a waste!

Pros: It works except for the garbage network adapter.

Cons: The "Killer" network adapter is garbage! A gigabit adapter built-in but has major issues with upload speed. After troubleshooting this I finally found answers on the MSI website forums yes, it's junk. I have a gigabit home network and everything else is fine. I've been though all the drivers to no avail. For the price I pay for internet service I can't have this junk slow me down. I'll either be jumping through hoops with MSI or just simply go out and purchase a NIC that is worth having.
