5 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard with a few quirks

Pros: Lots of ports
Dual SLI
Audio Boost
Great Manual!!!
Nice design
great packaging

Cons: No hardware cons.

Only comes with 2 SATA cables, only 1 is a right angle connector

Do not use their KIller Ethernet/WIFI software, it is not good and causes issues with Skype, Minecraft and other games from connecting with their servers.

Other Thoughts: I really like this mother board (Used for a gaming/workstation PC build). It looks great in my case, supports USB 3.0 case ports has great audio output, and the large heat sinks make it really easy to pick up with out damaging it. Also the manual is fantastic.

One this I HAVE to mention is; do not use their Killer software for Ethernet or WiFi. I experienced problems connecting to the servers for many games and Skype. Until after some research I realized it was this software.I uninstalled it and reinstalled JUST the drivers. Now things work beautifully.

Also there are several things that light up on this board just a heads up. The "Audio Boost" logo lights up (but is dim) and the Ethernet port has a small green and a small orange led.

And it only comes with 2 SATA cables, only one is has a right angle connector. Was a little disappointed with this but SATA cables are pretty cheap.

Overall I really like this motherboard.

2 out of 5 eggsBoard Gone Bad

Pros: Large board, fits components well, everything is labeled well, good spacing on the board, nice colors

Cons: After RMA-ing the Corsair AX760 power supply and reinstalling all of the cables the system still failed to start. Contacted support and performed the recommended manual start with a screw driver to disqualify there being an issue with the switch on the case. The system still would not start. I do not know why the board would fail, all proper static/environmental threat precautions were taken when building the machine.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
Based on the symptom you reported, we suggest you checking following steps below since many reasons can cause the situation like this ,
1. Check and make sure that power are connected correctly and firmly (JPWR1 and JPRW2), clear CMOS.
2. Check your other major hardware’s (memory, video card, CPU and power supply) to ensure that they are not the cause of the issue.
3. If you need further assistant, please feel free to contact our technical support department directly at 626.271.1004 from M to F, 6am to 6pm Pacific standard Time.

4 out of 5 eggsMore than worth the price

Pros: -Easily installed, and easy to install onto.
-The Killer Ethernet is an amazing feature
-Runs with a pretty low temp, even though I only have 2 fans and a cpu cooler in my tower.

Cons: For a first time builder of an entire system, there could have been a little more explanation/labeling, but this may just be me.

Other Thoughts: The Bios is probably one of the best that I've worked with. Granted I'm comparing it to the Dell and HP bios screens, which at best just get the job done.

I haven't overclocked my system as of yet, but I have take a look at the OC Genie and it does simplify the process a lot.

4 out of 5 eggsWorth the Money

Pros: Cheap for it's power, supports current generation processors and new GPU's as well. USB 3.0 is a great touch as well, drivers work nice and input shield is very cool.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: It's cheap and you get what you put into it, a well rounded card for a decent price. I'm running an Intel i7 4770k and an MSI GTX 980 on this thing and everything works like a charm. Definitely worth the buy, but if you have more money go for a newer MSI model.

5 out of 5 eggs5.0 ghz capable motherboard.

Pros: Was able to overclock to 5.0ghz for a few hours without temps getting too crazy. was pushing 1.55V at load on an i5. My daily overclock is 4.7 @ 1.35V the board stays nice and cool at load with a 440mhz switching frequency.
The board is gorgeous matches my build quite well.

Cons: Analog VRM's makes fine tuning a high overclock a PITA but if you up the switching frequency it compensates for it.
Really wish it had more fan headers but oh well splitters took care of that.

Other Thoughts: MSI would be the number one motherboard maker if it wasn't for the contract they made to use Analog VRMs back in the day, was a good deal then, really coming back to bite them now. However MSI has managed to do some crazy voodoo magic with digital compensation for the analog vrms to make it perform very well.

5 out of 5 eggsLooks in optimal condition

Pros: From looking at the product on arrival, Nothing seems to be broken or missing, Im using all the help I can get to visually confirms it looks like its gonna work out of the box.

The Msi look on this Motherbaord is just Eyecandy. would recommand anyone who has a use to most of the mobo's spec (looks great)

Cons: Waiting to plug everything for a comfirmation on usability.

Other Thoughts: Over hyped, but will remain calm in order to not mess up the board,

3 out of 5 eggsSpecs were wrong when I bought it newegg did nothing

Pros: Great motherboard awesome features

-The network is super fast and I absolutely love killer network manager
- Looks awesome with those red dragons
- MSI's software is great
- Just an absolutely amazing motherboard

Cons: - At time of purchase (and for a couple months after) new egg had the specs showing 8 USB ports, as I owned the z87 version with only 6 I was excited for some more ports. This of course was a mistake and when I contacted newegg support about it, they just played dumb and asked me for picture of proof that I had recived the wrong product.

Thing was if you looked at the picture of the motherboard you could only count 6 ports! I just wanted them to change the spec sheet to reflect the proper amount for it took several months for this to happen. Was not impressed by customer service at all.

Other Thoughts: I own the z87 version of this motherboard and had it for a little over a year when the USB died on it. That is why I bought this one.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Cool looking, price seemed nice for feature set

Cons: I bought this board based on favorable reviews not only from the internet at large but from a friend who just built a machine with one and seemed to really like it.

Preface to the whining about to follow: I am not a super amazing technical master builder, but I have built quite a few machines and always do my own upgrading; I'm comfortable with it and have never had any disasters.

I assembled a new build with this board that was going to be a gift for someone; put it all together and independently decided I'd cheaped out too much on the case/PSU. When disassembling, I went to unseat the GPU with what I really didn't consider to be an excessive force ... but the entire PCIE slot just let loose of the board, bending the pins in the process. Inspecting the underside of the mobo, about half the pins holding down the plastic sockets themselves have no solder rings whatsoever holding them in. Removing cards from this board, if they're all like this, is iffy at best.
