5 out of 5 eggsgud

Pros: **Out of the box impression**
Manufactured very nicely, a very sturdy board that feels like it could take a beating and a half and still keep rolling.
Installation was a breeze and plugging was not an issue.
Many, many, many, many USB's in the io makes me very happy.

**Usage**
Bios are neat and tidy.
Haven't had any issues so far regarding manufacturing problems or errors.
Easy to keep cool with stock case fans.

Cons: None so far, absolutely love it!

Other Thoughts: Was a bit weary because friends have had problems with MSI in the past and when it came out last year I was a bit skeptical, what with it being my first build. But I must say, I am rather satisfied with my purchase!

5 out of 5 eggsgreat mobo

Pros: Super easy to install. No problems what so ever..

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Great mobo with easy to use bios interface.

Don't need to mess with bios at all unless your trying to overclock.. Don't overclock unless you do your research and know what your doing.. Super easy bios that makes it very easy to mess up your setup..

2 out of 5 eggsWhat a waste!

Pros: It works except for the garbage network adapter.

Cons: The "Killer" network adapter is garbage! A gigabit adapter built-in but has major issues with upload speed. After troubleshooting this I finally found answers on the MSI website forums yes, it's junk. I have a gigabit home network and everything else is fine. I've been though all the drivers to no avail. For the price I pay for internet service I can't have this junk slow me down. I'll either be jumping through hoops with MSI or just simply go out and purchase a NIC that is worth having.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst experience ever.

Pros: Nice box, nice look. Packaging had good instructions. Nice placements of ports and cpu area spacious enough for a big cooler like my T4.

Cons: I've bought my first z97-g45 in november, it died 3 months later. Bought another one of the same model and it died 1 month later. I've just ordered an ASUS motherboard and I'll never buy another MSI product nor do I recommend them to anyone.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
Based on the symptom you reported, we suggest you checking following steps below since many reasons can cause the situation like this ,
1. Check and make sure that power are connected correctly and firmly (JPWR1 and JPRW2).
2. Check your other major hardware’s (memory, video card, CPU and power supply) to ensure that they are not the cause of the issue.
3. If you need further assistant, please feel free to contact our technical support department directly at 626.271.1004 from M to F, 6am to 6pm Pacific standard Time.

Best Regards,

4 out of 5 eggsZ97-G45 GAMING

Pros: pleasing color scheme, mSata, solid OC'r and must say the UEFI is hands down one of the best ive used since the inception of UEFI bios's! MSI handled the RMA quickly! (see cons)

Cons: Beware MSI live update for bios updates!! I too bricked mine doing a bios update with it of course I had read a few others had problems but I foolishly used it anyways and crashed at 22% and wouldn't power up post nothing! Called MSI and had ticket for RMA that evening mailed next day and got back in a reasonable 2.5weeks and with the latest bios pre installed (that was a plus as I wouldn't have updated again)

Other Thoughts: This has been a SOLID mobo with just the right feature sets for gamers and rock solid CS (at least in my case)

4 out of 5 eggsReally nice!!

Pros: The price is right!!!Solid feel great compare to other brand name. But not without flaw...Been try different brand name memory module it is compatible most of them(Kingston,G.skill,Team and Corsair..etc)Unlike the Asus motherboard and Asrock.

Cons: Don't use MSI fast boot it'll give you erro or you will have to go to BIOS to adjust the boots drive again.

4 out of 5 eggsFantastic MoBo

Pros: Fantastic Mobo. Great BIOS, Well labelled and instructions are clear. Offers great OC'ing and SLI capabilities.

Cons: Did not give POST beep when initially booting to test system. However gives all other error codes. Youtube videos in instructions are broken.

Other Thoughts: Although it has a few cons its actually really great

5 out of 5 eggsMSI Z97-G45

Pros: This is a very ascetically pleasing MOBO. The black and read are just great and the heat sinks on the board are shaped like dragon heads, which honestly you can't tell once it is installed. It was easy to install and update. Configuring the RAM to 2133 was a breeze ( default is 1600). BIOS is nice and easy to navigate as well.

Cons: My only gripe is the USB 3.0 hookup placement. I found it a pain to hook up and actually bent a couple pins which had to be nursed back. It seems that a straight up and down plug in would be best, but this was probably a newbie mistake that I won't make again and be way more careful when hooking up the front panel 3.0 header.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard, great value

Pros: Good price, good quality, easy to install. Reading people comments who had problems with the board leads me to believe they just had a lack of knowledge and messed something up during the install. I've bought several MSI products (GPUs, motherboards, computers) and haven't had any problems.

Cons: None so far.
