1 out of 5 eggsBad connector spaceing

Pros: Looks good, not laid out well for some USB 3.0 connectors. Like the one in an Antec Sonata III.

Cons: If you buy this board, do not try to force the USB 3.0 connector from the front of your case in to the socket on the board. The USB socket is TOO CLOSE to the Power socket . Sometimes you have to be firm with MB connectors. I noticed that the USB connector was tight the first time I attempted to attach it to the MB. When I sat the case upright it fell out. when I attempted a bit more force the connector on the MB broke and the pins were bent. Maybe too much force? Maybe a BAD FIT between case and MB., Oh well its only money...

Other Thoughts: Both the MB and the case are quality parts. The combination is deadly. and expensive. I would have liked to see a note concerning this issue in either or both parts listing

2 out of 5 eggsProblematic Motherboard

Pros: It's a cheap motherboard for having one of the upper tier LGA1150 chipsets. It's also fairly well laid out and easy to work with.

Cons: Two of the four RAM slots died completely several days after the new machine was assembled.

The first sign of trouble happened right after the machine was delivered to the customer as random BSODs in Windows. This further progressed into spontaneous reboots and then finally the machine wouldn't POST and would just endlessly power cycle.

Moving the RAM module from slot 1 to slot 3 or slot 4 made the machine work again, but I'm not in the business of pushing faulty merchandise to my customers.

Further internet research into the issue has lead to the bleak discovery that it's a fairly common problem on this motherboard model, which I dread since the bad board was sent back for a replacement board of the same type. I really hope I don't get a second bad board because I already have an irate customer that has gone a week and a half without their new machine because of this.

Other Thoughts: I've been using MSI motherboards for about 15 years and this is the first ever board from them I've gotten which was bad, which is a bit of a disappointment. I won't stop using them, but it will make me think twice before I get another.

Even more irritating is that there are apparently 2 or 3 different motherboards with the exact same model name (but not model number), which the MSI website doesn't even attempt to differentiate between.

While sifting through drivers is a trivial task, getting a BIOS update is just a tad hazardous because the different boards use different BIOS versions that are not inter-compatible and could result in a bricked board. You pretty much need to update the BIOS as soon as you get the machine up and running too since these boards usually ship with a really old BIOS version.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it.

Pros: Its perfect and gets the job done.
Wasn't as "flimsy" as other reviews said
Also is a great over clocking machine, just dont use OC Genie
The BIOS does all the work of overclocking.
Worked and booted with no effort.

Cons: OC Genie doesnt work.

Other Thoughts: Really no cons, installed it, OS booted, didnt need to do anything except OC.
I guess I would have liked to get the one with the dragons on it but my system was blue so yeah.

5 out of 5 eggsBest bang for the buck!

Pros: The Price. The Name. Sturdy. Plenty of onboard connectors for USB2/3, fan power, etc.
Simple installation. Great packaging. Great manual.

The BIOS are really awesome, more details below.

Driver disk is packed with worthy utilities.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: The BIOS are amazing. The dashboard provides you everything you need to know... things that you used to have to open the case to investigate.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board for the price

Pros: This is a fantastic board for the price, especially if you can grab it while on sale. I bought this board for use with a Pentium G3258 and was able to easily clock it up to 4.4 GHz with no issues (now have an i5 4690K paired with it). After a year the board is still rock solid; excellent product.

Cons: none

Pros: I got this as a deal with the g3258 and it seems like this is the go to deal. No problems with overclocking and the interface is really easy.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is great when bundled!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat ATX for cheaper builds

Pros: Excellent choice for an 80-100 ATX board, gets the job done with some good options for expansion as well. Reliable as well

Cons: -Not full sized ATX: as others have mentioned, the board is smaller than most ATX boards and only has 6 screws, meaning the board will bend when plugging in the 24 pin power connector.
-Comes with MSI Live Update: On the driver disc, MSI includes several bloatware programs, including the dread MSI Live Update app. AT ALL COSTS, NEVER USE THIS APPLICATION TO FLASH YOUR BIOS. In fact, I wouldn't even install it at all, MS Update is perfectly good enough to update all your drivers. I used MSI Live Update and it suggested to flash my BIOS, which then bricked my board. I got it replace thanks to Newegg's great customer support, but it is still disappointing that MSI includes this software that will likely break your board (even MSI's customer service team warns customers against using MSI LIve Update.)

Other Thoughts: Though I did brick the first board I received due to MSI Live Update, if you are looking for a quality board in this price range, this is a fantastic option that will serve your PC well.
